A rumor i have heard of the Mac OS 10.5 today from a mac lovin lecturer of mine is that Mac OS 10.5 is going to support full use of all Windows Applications. This means that for people like myself who need the power of a Mac system for Multimedia appliacations like movies, its a real bonus! Im not a mac lover but ill admit that i require the power of macs graphics manipulations and video rendering... It also apparently crashes less compared to an Windows OS.

Your opinion? Is this good or bad? Will this mean that more people would use it? In short, if this is true there is NO reason to be a PC Fanboy... If Mac can run anything PC can run then i know i will buy a mac... Would you?

Want to know why there making Win32 apps run on MAC now and not before? Because there starting to use Intel based processors and stuff. Wana know why? Because windows ownz..

Atleast when a MAC crashes, it does so in a graphicly superior way. When a windows program crashs, you most of the time just have your app screen turn white (white screen of death as I call it). Vista have copied this aswell, now when a program crashes, it just fades out a but.

Its good for those of you who want the graphical abilities of MAC and the awesomeness of a Windows OS. If you really wanted it, you'd get that windows emulator for MAC OSX, or just duel boot (only possible after macs changed to intel based processors)

How can MAC say that any Windows based will run on there OS, when half the time it dosnt run on its own OS (yes vista, im talking to you).

Yeah but for example your PC compared to a G5, im pretty sure if they both render a movie the Mac will be first. And another great thing about this is that Macs will be able to run 3D Modeling programs, ED Maya and 3DsMax Nah i dont think ill emulate or duel boot... I think... I may convert... But dont worry itll be a long battle... And Windows already has a leg up its just if this is true then... Thats like giving the Mac users a Nuke and the targeting locations of Bill gates house... Its the only way i see myself buying a mac... and when you visit you CANT kick it!!!!

See but to me Windows has so many problems, I'm going to switch to a Mac with my next computer, whether it be a laptop or PC. I may dual boot, but if this is true, I won't really need to.

I guess in time we will see if it was Windows OS or Intel Chips... If macs start to crash alot and stuff it was the chip... Im certinally hoping it is true... Though a disliker of Macs for so long... In retrospect for my industry they are superior... and if its true then ill still be able to game and use any program i like! And that means everyone will be able to... The point is proprietary hardware blows. If you aren't using windows you should be using linux, if your hardcore then go use sun's OS. You have to pay a premium for sub par hardware (for the price)

Not just movies, but all graphics editing... Adobe products are designed to work with Mac... And Mac are designed to be graphic editors... And if 3D Modeling becomes available on Mac, then Mac will gain the advantage in another field of Graphics.

If Mac do this i will actually CONSIDER purchasing a mac... CONSIDER... and most likely will ... I have no regrets!

iMovie is a pretty good video editing program. I used it a bit in high school, if I remember correctly it comes with a mac. Pretty powerful especially compared to Windows Movie Maker.

MM and iMovie is powerful, to my knowledge its the only stand alone software that can actually edit HDV and not screw it up. Software like Premier Pro cant even do that... omg im a mac fan now!
