I can't say I've ever seen that Toyota in America... EVER..

Anywho...

The best option in reducing gas is to limit the demand.. But, It'll never happen... Here in Midwest... You ABSOLUTELY NEED to drive.. Everything is way too far away.. Hybrids are good, but I don't think they really do anything cept' reduce emissions...

We are basically f-ed if we don't find a better mode of transportation..

Hardly. The nissan hybrid has a 50 Lt tank... Those 50Lt will do well over 1000 Kilometers.. They do reduce fuel consumption... Most cars get from 600-800 on one tank... But this car as new would get over 1000... That means in say 1 month when that number, as it usually does, increases.. it COULD be sitting around 1300-1500... Maybe... Though ive never driven one nor seen anyone driving one. Even now, people in australia seek other options besides Hybrid.

Glenny I think it's the Prius or however you spell it that get's 70 highway miles to the gallon and somewhere in the 60's for City miles. Petrol is Gasoline, not sure what LPG is, haven't seen the term before.

IW, i dont know a car that would get 500km to a tank...
Hybrids cost to much though.

LPG is liquid petrolium gasoline
Petrol is petrolium gasoline i think...

LPG is like petrol, cept its more gasyier. You have a diffefent filler thing. It has to screw on to the thing... Because its presurised in your tank, whereas petrol just sits there like water.

The Prius can achieve amazing gas milage if you drive like a faggot. That means using the acclerate and glide method over a 18 mile strech never exceeding 40 miles per hour. Sure then you can go an extreme distance. But here in the real world THE EPA F***S U OVER

I do believe John is indeed telling the truth... They are just misleading the public because some liberal wacko who wants to cut emissions... Its America, they have the right to say whatever the heck they wanna say, even if it is stretching or exaggerating what its actually potential is...

I c I c... Pressurized Tanks... That new Ethanol gas is out here now.. E85 err whatever... I seen a station that sells it in Redwing, MN... Its not really that popular though, and only new cars can run it.. kind of worthless if you ask me.. but! It is like 50 cents cheaper!

Ethanol is crap for cars. Our government reduced ethanol content in fuel to like, 10%. The higher it is, the worse off for you engine it is. I just googled it, E85 is 85% ethanol. So really bad . More ethanol, less octaine. Less octain, less good it is.

Bobby this E85 is some new stuff, newer cars probably can run on it, but I doubt it is as efficent as gasoline. It shouldn't kill your car.

Actually it reduces emissions INSANELY. So, much better for the enviroment. Some new cars are e85 ready. That means they can run on E85 or regular gas. Its not bad for the cars. Basicly... instead of gas... its corn moonshine. If that helps you think about it. The only problem is that not enough is produced to keep up with demand. In somestates a 5% or 10% ethonal blend is required. There isn't enough supply tho, thats why we need more plants!!!!(to make and distill the stuff)
My dad is co-founder of an ethonal plant. So i know a good deal about it. And actually fairly older cars run on it too. Just not as many types as today.

And just so you guys know if you have 100% Ethanol in most cases something is added to it to make you really sick if you try to get drunk off of it. A professor was taking about it in Chem lab. John might like it when cars run fully off the stuff though, he could fuel his car with it and if he felt like it he could take some out and get drunk. But then he wouldn't be able to drive.

As far as i know nothing is added to make you sick. But when they produce it they monitor it closely and only a small amount is shiped out at a time. And a car cannot run off of 100% ethonal(at least manufactured vehicals) as far as i know.

Well in E85's case you wouldn't have to because it isn't pure ethanol, but I don't know what else it would contain. Anyone know?

You can buy a car kit (US$400) to run your car on E85.

Down in Aus, if you have a car, ment to run on super (or whatever its called now...)(thats like 94 octaine). And you try put in unleaded (regular)(thats like, 83 octaine, but its diluted with ethanol) your car will run crap as, make more pollution, back fire, and it will eventually destroy your engine.

If you put 83 oct in a car that needs super premium you will eventually mess your engine up without the ethanol.
