The verses following are pretty direct and specific...no interpretation required. Though really, this still doesn't tie adultery to pornography...the verse clearly states that you're looking at a woman, it says nothing of the image of a woman. Also, what if it's a woman looking at a man in lust? Matthew's chapter 5 is mum on this subject. Also, what if it's a woman lusting after a woman? My wife is bisexual and has feelings of lust towards women often. Has she committed adultery against me? You know, adultery is grounds for divorce...but by the same chapter, we shouldn't get divorced. Oh snap!

Again, take it how you want to interprate it. Matthew isnt alive anymore to clarify it, so no one can be sure .

If your looking at pictures of child pornography, your still looking at child pornography even thou they are just images. Dont think Matthew (or any of the others) pre-empted the widespread usage of digital imagery in the future...

Back in those days, the value of women was pretty damn much nil. Women were property of men and nothing more. It's a trend that is mostly gone nowadays but still shows its ugly head from time to time in various forms. Martin Luther (the founder of the Protestant movement in the 16th century) was the first to try to break the mold of female submission, though this detail is conveniently left out of most records of his history.

Anyone making child pornography deserves to be killed. It's that simple. Someone who looks at it has a mental disorder known as pedophilia. I don't know if it's truly treatable or not, but some doctors have tried various treatments for it. We may look at these kind of people as if they're sick criminals, but they're ordinary people like you and me. They just have a serious problem that they need corrected. However, it's only a problem because our society says it's a problem...many ancient cultures practiced sexual relations with the young (the ancient Greeks, for example), and a few still do today (Thailand, anyone?). Is it a real problem, or is it not? Can't say for sure, so you have to leave it up to your own judgment.

If it says anywhere in the Bible that men should love women and women should love men, it's unknown to me. I don't recall any such passage, though it's been quite a few years since I've read the book. However, if it does truly say that anywhere, or can be interpreted as such, it further reinforces the fact that this is no book to live by. Homosexuality is a very normal thing; it exists all throughout nature. It is theorized to be one of nature's population control methods. No one should ever be shunned or judged for their sexual preference unless that preference harms others (such is the case with pedophilia and sometimes ephebophilia).

But just because it didnt mention women as highly as we do now, does that mean we shouldnt respect them? Same as porn, just because back then its not as it is now, dosnt mean we can ignore it. If that makes sense..

Well, pplz having relations with kids is still around today, mostly in Easten cultures (Muslims do it I think). And usualy as soon as they can fall pregnet, they do fall pregnet.

I know a few homosexual people (both male and female) and they are just like everyone else. I dont have a problem with it, but others would proclaim that its a mental condition which also needs to be fixed.

If it is indeed bad, no worries... look at all the porn you want then repent after each time you look at it then you will be clean.

Any sin is forgivable, just as long as you truly mean it when you repent for the sin. Chances are, if you keep committing a sin with the intentions of just repenting afterward each time, you'll eventually get to a point where you truly don't mean it anymore when you repent and god knows your heart so he therefore knows if you truly mean it or not.

If you do something, knowing full well that its wrong and that you plan to get forgiveness, then when you ask for forgivness you have to be more than asking for it. You have to want it.. you have to need it.



There is 1 sin which is unforgivable.. but I forget what it was..

Blasphemy of the holy spirit is the only sin that isn't forgivable.

Self-defence is the universal exception. I think you have the right to defend your own life even if it requires the taking of another. Of course as a "last resort"... whatever that actually means.

I don't think you could kill 1200 people and "repent" and it would all be better. At some point the repentance becomes inneffective. I just don't think you could do something as serious as taking a human life and be forgiven of it 1200 times. I'm sure there are circumstances where it is possible but I find it unlikely....

and I still don't understand where looking at porn was named as the unforgiveable sin.... because it's not.

Pornography is akin to adultery/fornication although without the physical act involved. It would be considered a serious thing but definitely not unforgiveable. If it were unforgiveable then there are a lot of people going to hell

The Bible says a lot of things about salvation and forgiveness and accountability. My opinion is that those that don't know the law have a chance between death and the resurection to accept Jesus as their saviour or not. The validity of that choice would be up to God of course because he would know if they were sincere or not. It just doesn't seem fair or right that not living in a time or place where a certain religion was on the earth means that you go to hell....

is there a difference between nude modeling (posing) and porn (sex)?
if everyone was born naked, and the first people were naked, then nudity isnt a bad thing per se.
and neither, technically is looking at naked people.
now looking at naked people and "ahem" playing with yourself, or looking at others having sex (deliberatly), isnt this more the part that would be "bad"?
