I am thinking about joining Gold's Gym. They have a great facility, and a good price. -also its close by... Whats sorts of things does your gym offer, for example personal trainer, etc..

I used to have a membership for the Y (known as the YMCA years ago), but I stopped paying for it when I realized that I had stopped going. I stopped because I spent all of my time between school and karate.

I have heard good things about Gold's Gym. A friend of mine works as a model for Abercrombie. He's strong now, but he is one of those people who will never stop working towards improvement. The place he was at was threatening to kick him out because he grunted when he was working out sometimes. He's a black belt and took the mental values very seriously, so I know that the place was overreacting. He switched to Gold's Gym and loves it. Even if you're not at his level, you may still like the gym. Check if they have some kind of trial membership.

I don't think you can go wrong with Gold's. That franchise has been around since the 70's, maybe even the 60's. Where I'm from, Minnesota, a popular one is Life Time Fitness. My brother and I have gone to that for years. He first started working there at 16 at the towel desk. Now he does personal training as a side job. Because he knows one of the managers there (I sort of know him too, and he know me through my brother) we've been given a Silver membership with some of the perks of a Gold membership, which is basically being able to go to the better Life Time gyms in the metro area of Minn, and I can also get a two week pass when I come home for leave.

If you ever stay in Minnesota for a while Life Time is definitely a place to check out. Otherwise, those 24-hour gyms that have popped up within the last year and a half are also decent if you're someone who gets off work later than most people. They're not too crowded either like the bigger gyms are either.
