I used to chew my nails down to little stubs, it was gross but addicting. It's part of minor OCD, for me it helped me relax (for some reason). I would do it while writing a test or reading part of a book that was exciting. Or even while slightly nervous, like on public transit or in an unfamiliar situation...

But last month I decided that my nail biting was unsanitary and unattractive so I made a point to stop. I haven't bit at or picked my nails since then. My goal is to have long, pretty nails that I can paint dark red. That is my biggest motivator, that my nails will be pretty...
