Well.. If everyone recycles than no. But if only a few than it really cant help change the world..Its a good idea but we started to late. We needed better ways of getting rid of all these materials and finding a way that can be really reusable.

No, It's not a waste of time... Even If people barely recycles, it's still something good for the Earth.

I actually don't mind recycling at all. It has even helped feed my family when we've needed extra money. There are a lot of benefits with recycling. Of course that's just my opinion, but personally I don't think it's a waste of time.

Sometimes i do, because i really don't have time for it.
I don't get no money out of it. So therefore to me its pointless

I don't think, I mean sometimes it is kind of hard but around my house we actually recycle things and I see it being a lot more Eco-friendly than just throwing it away.

Recycling is only a waste of time if you really think you're going to make a difference. Most of the world's waste originates from the production side of a commodity. It's impossible to think a personal movement will change the face of trash on the Earth. The only real chance is to overthrow capital as a main means of economic relations and usher in a new system based on the progress of humanity and conservation of the Earth.

Recycling is only a waste of time if you truely believe that its a waste of time. I do my part in recycling, but I'm not one of those Eco-people who complain to people who drive vehicles that have a high carbon emissions.

I don't think it's a waste of time, to me it is a losing battle though because so many people just throw their trash out on the street or they don't recycle. If everybody recycled then the world would be a cleaner place.

Not really i think recycling is a good thing to do for our economy. I recycle and sell cans to get money. And if we recycle we are one; cleaning up for ourselves. And two getting money for it. Plus when recycling you can make different materials out of it, and that can be really helpful for today's time. I have a recycled pencil and it looks so cool.

Recycling is not a waste of time.

I hope it is not a waste of time.  It seems like the right thing to do, though re-using would certainly be a much better alternative wherever applicable.  People lived on this planet for thousands of years without "disposable" containers and packaging.  I think we should be exploring creative alternatives in this direction.  I also agree with ClearAsCrystal, a little more thought on everyone's part could go a long way.

I don't think recycling is a bad thing or necessarily a waste of time.  That being said, I'm not a tree hugger who insists everyone recycles.  I think that there aren't enough people that care so that a huge difference is made.  Every bit helps of course, but when you consider the world's population, and what percentage of that actually recycles...

I don't really think its  a waste of time.   It does create jobs in this economy, and it does help the enviroment with less plastic lying around.   It does give some incentive to people is some states.

I don't like recycling for "saving the Earth" stuff. I just think that it should be done to keep things like parks looking good. I don't see it as something that should be imposed or anything, more just encouraged.

I don't think so.
If we could get everyone to recycle there wouldn't be such a strain on the woods and forests around the world, There would be less mining needed and we would have a much prettier world to live in.

I hardly see recycling as a waste of time. It helps us renew our resources and helps lower waste. I do not think it is a miracle saving thing, but I do not see a reason NOT to recycle other than a person's own laziness. In my suburban neighborhood, every household is issued a huge recycling bin and we have a recycling pick up day once a week (usually a day after garbage pick up or so). If you have such a convenience, then why the heck not?

I do not know if everyone has such a convenience though, as I have heard of some areas that physically have to go down to a recycling center just to give their recyclables in (AND without getting some sort of money refund). While that is still laziness, I can understand why it would be harder for some to recycle then. That is where one could write to their mayor or something to get an easier recycling solution for their town/city. Could even offer some sort of tax break or something to businesses that have a recycling initiative.

It bothers me that at my job, we do have recycling bins, but many workers do not care and just throw trash in them. Same with malls and colleges; people just are too dang lazy sometimes.
