Damn, that's sad. However, I question how in the world he ended up with a Segway near cliff, and actually tried to use it. But that is quite ironic, I agree.

Interesting... but where was he driving it the grand canyon

For them to call it an accident pretty much just killed their stocks. If it were a suicide that would have been a bit better but now the brakes probably dont work and they will have to recall a bunch and crumble as a business

There was not much to the story there, I don't know how driving off a cliff on a segway can be an accident unless you have no idea there is a cliff or you are not using a brain or even worse a defect in his product.

I read on another site that the safety issue with Segways is that your hands are required to be on the steering handles at all times. If you come to a sudden stop and it tips, you have little to no chance of getting your hands up in time to break your fall.

Its weird because I'm sure all he had to do was step off of it to avoid this accident. But the guy who died wasn't the original creator/owner of the Segways, the guy who died had recently bought the company. It would of been more ironic if it was the original owner. But from what I seen the man who died was actually a good guy. He grew up poor and became a successful inventor and he had started putting money into the communities that he grew up in.
