Hello there, I don't really have a question here but if there is one thing I do know and that is I miss the good old days of Pokemon.

Do you all remember when the very first episode of Pokemon? well, if you do, there was a part at the end of the very first episode, where you see a flying Pokemon with almost like fire dust coming off its wings, though, no one ever got a good look of it. Then it turns out that it was HO-OH and Silver Version nor Gold for that matter came out because it was still Blue, Red, and Yellow Version, and don't get me started on the two movies that were the best but I kinda saw them coming, well, not really I was still a kid haha!

So as you can all imagine, it was all planned from the beginning that they will make more than 151 Pokemon and make movies after movies but they cannot beat their own 2 masterpieces, Pokemon The First Movie (it was planned I tell you just look at the title) and Pokemon 2000.

now if you would excuse me, I got to catch Mewtwo

I remember seeing the second movie at the theater. When Jessee said "sex" referring to gender, all the kids in the theatre laughed except me. Come on, it wasn't THAT funny, even at that age.

Well, the thing to remember is that the show was made after the games, so it's more likely to assume that they saw how well the games sold and when they made the show they added a little bit of concept character (Ho-Oh) that they were planning.
It might not actually seem that way as seen from an American perspective, but the game was first released on February 27, 1996 (in Japan) while the show was first broadcast over a year later on April 1, 1997 (also in Japan).
That's just some random triva for you

ok but but lets keep in mind that it was most sneakiest and most well thought out way to get kids into it. and, yes it is true that red and blue version came out a year before the anime but i cant help but wonder if they were planning this all along?

and at Lagslayer, i remember that! yeah, i didn't laugh at it at all lmao

Yeah, I remember seeing Ho-oh. I was like "WTF?" when I saw it, then realized "Wait, does that mean....MORE POKEMON! *does a victory dance*" Also, I think you should at least mention the Mew glitch, though most people get it involving the Gambler and the Youngster, when you can actually get it before you beat Misty =/

ah yes the mew glitch! that, and the missing number glitch, that ones always fun lol

the missing number glitch is a easier one to manage. this is how it goes, on cinnabar island there is a market, go in it, then talk to the clerk and go to the sell opition, then from there, select the 6th item in your items list by pressing the select button but be sure not to sell the item. after you do that, use a pokemon who surf and go up and down on the shore of the island and you will bump into a missing number which is a screwed up pokemon, defeat it dont catch it because it will mess up your game and you will have to start over from scratch, then after beating it, look in your items, your 6th item will be 99.

but I guess you all know this glitch well thought maybe it was worth mentioning lol

though, i never did the mew glitch because i never got around it. if anyone knows how it works please i'm all ears.

I think that it was the plan. You see the games are older than the series. But I have thought the same thing. Good not to be alone.

Wow, I remember that scene in the very first Pokemon episode! The last time I saw that episode was well before Pokemon Gold and Silver came out so I didn't put that together until now that it was Ho-Oh flying in the sky!

I just went back to watch Episode 1 in the vizzed Retro Toon Room and watching these old episodes brings back some great memories. It's weird but the feeling I get when watching old Pokemon episodes is a very weird feeling and I don't get it from anything else, maybe it's the feeling of being young again.

not just that but if anyone remembers the second season of pokemon? there was an episode where you see Lugia flying underwater, one month later pokemon gold/silver came out.

And the same goes for me, when i watch the older pokemon episodes, i get the feeling of my youth.

I'll tell you how to get it before Misty.
Have some Poke Balls, DO NOT defeat Misty, the Swimmer in her gym, and the Jr. Trainer that says "I saw your feat from the grass" and is also standing in the grass next to Nugget Bridge. First, heal at the Pokemon Center at Cerulean City (duh). Then go and beat Nugget Bridge. If you're playing Blue or Red, you then go into the grass in the area and catch an Abra. If you're playing Yellow, you have to reach Bill, go through the things he asks you to do and get the S.S. Ticket, then get to the route directly below Cerulean City and catch one. Now go and position yourself in the spot where when you take a step down, the Jr. Trainer in the grass will spot you. Take a step down and IMMEDIATELY press start. Then use Abra to teleport back to the Pokemon Center. If you did it correctly, the Jr. Trainer will have an exclamation point over his head as you teleport. The Start Menu will no longer work until you beat someone in battle, so make sure you talk to or battle NO ONE. Go the Cerulean Gym and beat the Swimmer. Now go and head up Nugget Bridge. The Start Menu will pop up on its own. Close it, and a Lvl 7 Mew will pop out. Catch it and its yours (it only knows Pound when you face it )

Yes, i do remember the original 151 pokemon. hmmm....151. when you think of pokemon,
151 seems like sucha small number now. it's make me think of the good old days, back when i was "happy" and i could not spell most words. what was it, ten years ago? TEN? damn, i feel so old. but you know what? i'm still happy. i just wish the woulda stopped making pokemon after the 350 mark. the ones in the Diamond/Pearl games are just so....
........stupid looking. i guess that's why i soon gave up pokemon. but even so, when i all grown up, i'll always look back to pokemon as the first real sort of anime i ever saw.
and i love squirtles.
