I am also a distance runner. (college freshmen) My personal record right now is 15 miles. I want to be able to run a marathon by the time I turn 19 (August 26th) so I still have a lot of time. Just keep plugging away and putting the miles in. I'm rooting for you, so keep up the good work, in the running world, on Vizzed, and in the rest of life.

4 Miles on Hilly Road. I've just been so busy since my daughter has been here and now with having to pick up freelance work on top of working on vizzed, just don't have time to go a very big distance. I may have to just try again when she gets older and less time conusming and make the new deadline my 26th Bday (which is convenient since 26 is also the distance in miles that a marathon is).

I've been training for 6 months now and the most I could probably do on a straight road would probably be 16 miles (but I only train once a week).

Wow. Those are some really impressive feats. The most I've probably ever ran is a 7km cross country, and near the end I felt as though I was gonna Throw-up. Well, I am only 12 years oold, that apparently is pretty good for my age, the world is becoming more unfit.

I'm up to 20 miles easy. Although, I could run more if the college coach wasn't all like "You gotta take it easy you stupid redneck!" and then slaps me on the back and laughs.

I could run a marathon at this point. I know this. However, it would be painful to do it fast.

legacyme3 : Yeah I wouldn't recommend someone attempting to run a fast marathon, that'll drain your energy way to early, running 26 miles requires a lot of thinking and pacing. I think at the rate I'm going, once I get myself at the point of running 26 miles, I'll probably be able to do it in 3 hours and 30 minutes.

I was probably the 2nd best in my school but than I got really bad sinuses and it sorta ruined my year and since I only went for Cross Country my Junior year, I didn't get another shot (I had a lot of night school my Senior year). So because of my sinuses, I was usually at the 80 percentile. I really wish I could go back though and take another shot at it, I still get dreams once in a while where I get another opportunity.

Now I am the second man on my college team. Although my team is a little slow. I run a 30 minute 8k now.

And I get the sinuses thing, but for me it is injury that does me in. I am awfully injury prone.

Davideo7 : Congrats on being able to run that far! I tire out easily on the ground, so most "marathons" I'm in consist of long swims in the pool. I'm trying to work on my endurance so that I can do something like that sometime.
