It's been some time since I've made a new post like this. 2017 has become a recent memory, and 2018 is underway. Things change, and our perceptions on the world might ever so slightly. I began 2017 jobless and unaware, so I turned to Vizzed for some insight. Vizzed became quite the adventure for me, personally. I acquainted myself with many others somewhat similar to myself in viewpoint, and I was able to flex my dull, writing muscles. I gained a job for quite some time, and it helped ease my worries. I enter aware of my mistakes, and eager to expand my horizons. How about you all? What has been going on in your lives until now? Have you found a temporary solution to your many troubles? Ponder.... Reflect.

2018 started off with a bang for us. We had a rather uneventful yet fun New Years, and then in the short span of only a few days, our oven stopped working, which makes cooking a little more inconvenient, we discover the car has two flat tires, which means we were back to being on-foot, the temperature dropped to single digits fahrenheit in the evenings, which made walking to town for food rather unpleasant, and those same relatively extreme temperatures also resulted in our cold water freezing, meaning we've been struggling to wash dishes or bathe. The lack of a vehicle also postponed my dad going to the next town to try to find work. He's currently between jobs. And we've also been barely getting by with enough money for both utilities and food. We've yet to have to choose between heat and food, but I'm not writing it off yet.

To most, this would probably discouraging. Quite the opposite for me. I've come to realize that allowing yourself to get upset under poor conditions is about the most counterproductive thing you could do. The best way to go about it is to stay cool, think proactively and do as much damage control as you can, and those are my goals for 2018.

2017 already ended promising. I made my choice of leaving university in exchange of more practical one-year courses that would allow me to get a job more quickly than obtaining my university degree, and I started looking for sources to look for part-time jobs as I studied, in a way to fund my studies but also to build myself a routine.

Besides on following what I started one month ago, 2018 has kicked in rather good. The couple of family reunions we've had have been mostly okay, considering they could have been much worse, and so far nothing bad to report. Still early, but I'll have to see if I can fulfill my goals for the year because the start has been incredible.

I have a couple more things in mind, like travels and other things I can't really tell, that can make 2018 awesome right before summer strikes if they go as planned. Now I only need to procrastinate a bit and get my course ongoing so I can finish it as early as possible to enjoy my time, I've already loafed around too much. Basically that's my main goal for this year: be productive and take one or more steps forward in my life.

My only real resolution is to get back on track with my health/fitness. I was doing some pretty regular exercising and was starting to see some results before I had to have surgery. That derailed basically everything I had accomplished and just this week had to start over. I could barely get through half the work-out I used to do. Still, hopefully it will take me less effort to get back to where I was at the end of November compared to getting there originally.

Other than that I don't really have much that I want to change. Most of my life changes are going to be minor rather than major. Not really resolution worthy.

Another year passes and another foot down the rabbit hole. I often think this could very well be as good as it gets with my life no matter how many "happy pills" I pop... FML when the only thing to look forward to is what method of suicide I should choose. I'd tell the doctors to take these pills and shove em where the sun don't shine but they don't understand. They truly believe pills are the end all be all of all of lifes struggles. I guess I can continue to play along, act happy, despite my life being in absolute shambles.

The only resolution I have for 2018 is that I'd like to be able to devote more time to reading. The time I spent/devoted to reading in 2017 is a fraction compared to what it was in previous years It just seems like I'm always too busy or occupied with something else. I want to change that and make time for the things I enjoy doing.

Other than that, I don't have any resolutions for 2018. This is actually the only New Year resolution I've ever made. I've never been one to make resolutions at the arrival of a new year. Regardless, I'll see to it that I actually abide by my resolution for 2018.

My resolution is to get back on track with healthy habits. Before my nerve pain started up, I was going to the gym all of the time, eating pretty healthy, etc. Then I had to stop going to the gym for a couple of months, I started eating junk food, I started smoking because of it's pain-management qualities (and now it's just become habitual).
