Hi.

I'm not sure what I really want to share with everyone, because this is a new feeling for me. I've spent much of my life with nobody wanting to know anything about me. People look only skin deep. Even in online communities like this one, there tends to be a block preventing people from being interested in getting to know others for who they actually are.

In many forums I've visited over the years under several different names, everybody is cold. They might appear to be lively, and even pretend to care. I'm hoping this place is different. I'm so used to being judged for things outside of my control, and being told things about myself that simply aren't true, that I've lost a lot of faith in people in general.

So here a few things about myself:

1. I have major trust issues. As it is, I'm uncomfortable even sharing this much about myself, because every little thing said either gets used against you, or taken out of context. There are no doubt people reading this who are trying to find a way to twist this to their benefit. It's not paranoia if people actually are out to get you.

2. I want to love everybody. At heart, I'm a romantic. At heart, I want to believe the best in everyone. But this is in heart. I know the world isn't like that. I know it's not ideallic. But despite my trust issues, I continually find myself wanting to let people into my heart.

3. I get burned a lot. This ties in with the first and second thing. I continually get burnt whenever I trust someone even a little. It doesn't matter who it is, people just have a tendency to betray the heart or lead you along, only to pull the rug out from under you.

4. I'm not a happy person. I used to be, somewhat recently even. But I'm not sure if I'll be happy again any time soon. So I'm sorry if I bring down the mood.

This community surely isn't cold. We've forged valuable friendships and enjoyed some great moments together during our stay, and even if the site is not on its peak we're still here trying to keep making our stay totally worth it.

I must say I'm a bit distant because I don't tend to talk much, so I could be seen as cold by others. I do care for my friends because I cherish each and every friendship I've made, whether it's in the internet or the real world, though I'll rarely be the one to talk unless I really have some good news to share.

You should be a bit more positive. I'm not saying you should trust everybody because, let's be honest, I don't trust literally everybody, but there are some of us who aren't avid backstabbers. Sharing your problems also lets us take the correct message from your post, not knowing the other person enough as to know why they make the kind of posts or comments they do has lead to misunderstandings before.

I really hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we're doing. If you ever have any questions, we staff are just one PM away from solving your doubts.

Welcome to vizzed! I feel your pain with the trust issues. For a while in high school I had that problem, and sometimes it's still there this year, my senior year.

Thank you for introducing yourself and joining one of the best websites I've ever seen. I've bonded with many users here and they have always been there for me when I feel down.

I'm a Christian, and I have a huge desire to keep being an authentic one, so I often find myself wanting to know if people trust me or believe in what I believe. But as long as I have the amazing kinds of friendships I have right now in real life, I'm good I'm praying that this site will help you find happiness. Have a great time!

I usually don't respond to threads like this on Vizzed, and it's refreshing to finally see one like this on here. It's rare that I see people sharing things about themselves on this site anymore. I can really relate to a lot of what you're saying. I'm not that familiar with how things are with Vizzed, but in real life people can be unnecessarily cold and judgmental. I can't begin to count how many times I've experienced this in my own life.

There are certain people out here in the world that I want to love, but about all of them I have met have burned me. It's gotten to a point where I've started to have to lower my expectations of people. I no longer expect anyone to like me. That's just how it is. It shouldn't be this way, but this isn't how the world works. Most people (not everybody) in society expect you to be perfect. If you aren't they don't have anything to do with you. They never bother to give you a chance.

Some people can really be cruel and hateful just because you aren't good enough for them. I say, what goes around comes around. I don't trust anyone until they give me a reason to. Many people don't give me a reason, and sometimes that's okay and sometimes it isn't. Vizzed hasn't given me much of a reason, but that's okay because they don't know me. It's mainly just the people I have met in real life that I'm not okay with.

I'm glad you decided to make this introduction and join the website. There are quite a few good games to play here too. However, many of the best ones have been removed by Nintendo, so I recommend looking into playing the Sonic, Mega Man, and Adventure Island games.

Thanks for the reply. I think we'll be good friends. There's a genuine nature behind your words, I believe, and that's the type of a connection I'm looking for right now.

I'm not here for the games, as hard as that is to believe. I have all the games I'll ever want to play, for the rest of my life. While replaying the past is a nice concept, I've already been there, and I'm focusing on new games at all times. My backlog is simply too huge to justify it.

I am here to talk about games, however, and talk, and make friends (this last one is less likely, but if there are others like you, perhaps it will happen). This probably isn't the best place for it, but I've just about run out of avenues that make sense to me for the time being.

I have been on this site for a while and for the most part this is a safe place. We have rules and the mods are great about enforcing them. I have had a wonderful experience on here. 

Sounds like we have a few things in common. 

I to have trust issues mainly due to past trauma. On other sites I have been judged and people misunderstanding what I was trying to say. So I can relate to that one. I am careful with who I share things to. 

I have also been burned a few times. The good news is I have found friends that I can trust that have helped me overcome that issue. Second I am a Christian so I always go to the Lord. 

I know life can be cruel, people can be cruel, and life will throw you a bunch of curve balls. I try to remain positive. I have been through a lot in my life. A lot of people have no idea the things I have been through. But I try to be a positive person. I would try to find a hobby or something that makes you happy.
