"You're right. This is just the beginning.." rustgarde
STORY: If your familiar to this series you know this happens after the accident in Resident Evil 1, the researcher named William Birkin was working for company called Umbrella Corporation who makes medical and pharmaceutical and various other things in public, but in secret laboratory out of the government and common folks eyes they make biochemical weapons. Birkin was developing a new substance called G-Virus in a secret laboratory somewhere in the sewers of Raccoon City that was supposed to attack your cells mutating your DNA and make you stronger and make you regenerate faster so your be technically immortal, but when Birkin finished the project he was planning to sell it to US Government and when Umbrella heard about this they ordered a team to eliminate Birkin and take the G-Virus back to the Umbrella. The team was able to murder him, but with his final breath he infected himself to the virus and mutated to a hideous monstrosity and massacred the whole team, the virus vials that they had broke and rats in the sewers started to eat it and then the g-virus spread through the city and turned humans to a walking living deads and because the infection spread if one who had it bites or even scratches you. The virus spread fast and it didn’t take much time when the whole city was infected.
Here is a little bit how the story started, well after the incident two people known as Leon S. Kennedy who was transformed to Raccoon City police, so this was supposed to be his first day in the job came to the city and I have to say it could be any worse first day at work for this guy. And the other person is known as Claire Redfield who came to the city to find his brother Chris who worked for Raccoon City’s police too, but he was in the special forces known as S.T.A.R.S. These two met in the some random gas station when they were attacked by the zombies (living deads if someone does not know what that is.) And this is just the beginning.
The story is very interesting and there is lot of things that makes you wonder why the things here are happening and who is behind all this, because even when you have completed the game it still makes you wonder many things, that’s why it gives you more interest to play the other sequels of this game series. You even get to know something about the main characters too, what kind of persons they are and things like that. And because there are 2 main characters that means you can choose which one you are going to play first they both have different story, even though the first part of the game goes pretty much alike.. But when you have finished the game first time you will notice that this wasn’t the end, and surprisingly the story continues by starting it over in a different place with different perception, if you don’t get what I mean you will discover it eventually if you have enough courage and interest to beat the game in the first place. Guess that enough.
Depth: As I mentioned before there are 2 DISC’s (Leon’s disc and Claire’s disc) which allows you to choose which character you want to play first, when I played this game first time it took me like 10 hours to beat it because there are some puzzles that might take some time and you aren’t sure where to go next.. What gives this game more depth is that when you finish the game with Leon you will automatically be able to play Claire’s other story that is quite different from it’s first part, and same goes with Leon when you start with using Claire for the first time, without loading her 2nd story. (I really suck explaining some things, but hopefully you get the point.) Anyways what is a little down part here, when you have played it first time, you basically remember every puzzle and you know where to go you can finish this game really quickly (it took me about 4 hours to beat the Leon’s first part, when I tried played it in Vizzed, even though it’s been long time I have played this, but I still remembered most of the puzzles.)
Sound: I love it, the composer of this game (don’t know his/her name) is brilliant.. Some of the music’s are very creepy and it gives you chills when you are in some empty room and you pretty much just wait that something will come from the walls and windows to kill you, without these music’s the game would not be so good as it is. And about the sounds, I think the zombies sounds like a real zombies should sound, and all the windows cracking and when you walk or open the door sounds realistic.. Don’t really know if there is anything bad to say about this section, maybe one things is that sometimes you might piss in to your pants while playing, but that’s not a big problem I guess.
Graphics: For a PlayStation 1 game, I think the graphics are very good compared to some other games I have played with ps1. Even though when let’s say Leon points something his fingers are like glued to his arms and he does not move them at all, and some of the zombies and others hands are quite ‘cubish’ but I can forgive that because it really does not bother me but it might bother some people who likes graphics more than the game itself… Anyways I really like how the buildings and streets look and the cinematic parts are very nicely done and most of all, the monsters and mutated animals looks very scary.
Difficulty: It’s really hard to say how difficult this game is mainly, but for me it’s about 4 right now, but the first times when I played it was more like a 8… Because as I said before when you have some experience about this game it becomes much more easier to beat, because you know how to solve the puzzles and learned a few good tactics against the monsters and some bosses. So I guess I give it 7 because for some people this might be challenging even though they have beaten it couple of times.
Addictiveness: I give addictiveness 7 also, because even though I love this game very much I don’t play it so often anymore, but there are times when I feel a little nostalgic and want to relive the story again. So I believe that those who likes to kill some undead monsters and enjoys a good story will find him/herself playing this game now and then..
Guess that’s all about it. Hope you liked my review, and all kind of feedback is welcome.
Peace.

RE 2 N64 was awesome kirby456
Resident evil 2 for the Nintendo 64 was the first resident evil game that I ever played. Now some of you hardcore fans would go Resident evil 2 for the Nintendo 64 WTF!? But it is real IT IS REAl. When I first booted it up I thought Nintendo would have sensored it so that all the blood and violence wouldn't offend people. But guess what they didn't. This game was the exactly the same as the Playstation One version except the controls felt akward at first. But just like the Ps1 version I got use to the controls. There are a few minor flaws. :( The game was to easy to beat and I didn't find myself running out of ammo to often. Something I did really like was the amount of Depth in the game. There was a lot to do in the game with 2 count 'em 2 campagins to play throught each one different then the last. And If you got a gameshark then you would unlock two seprat game modes that are fairly challenging. Do would I reccomend this Yes Yes I would.
This has beeen a kirby456 review THANKS FOR READING BYE :)

(Please note that the opinions listed for this game are one collected from the playstion1 dualshock ver.)
(Also note the game DOES NOT WORK on this website.)
Overall this game way pretty, im going to go over what i rated everything and why.
I gave the game a 5 for the graphics, for me thats low, however the graphics are not bad my only issue with them is that i have seen other games do exactly the same or better, i have also seen them do worse but the point is is that there just average for the sony playstation.
I gave the game a 7 for the sound. I gave the sound a 7 not for the primary like gun shot noises or zombie growns but for the ambiance, the other sound effects where just reused sound effects they probably found on the internet, but the ambiance set such a great mood for a horror setting.
I gave it a 8 for story. i gave it an 8 not just for what happens in this game alone but for all of the RE games made. (Well in the main series anyway there is a ton of others i have not played) The Resident Evil series has an over all good plot in my opinion.
Depth i gave it a 7. I gave it a 7 because it has a fair amount to do. sure you can beat the game fairly quickly but if you dont have every thing memorized then the game will most likely take you some time to beat.
Lastly i gave it an 8 for difficulty. All im going to say is the game is hard in some spots anyway. Not all of the game is terribly difficult but there was its moments, the main thing that i found to be the most problem was i kept running out of ammo, and dont bother using your knife it doesnt do crap.
Over all 8.5 =P
