if you like metal gear even a little, do NOT overlook this one bsnowotter
To be honest, I have not played this on vizzed, I hope it works, I will try it as soon as I finish writing this review.
I am not a huge Metal Gear fan today. The metal gear series started to lose me when they released Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2, and I was similarly unimpressed with the sequel (although mgs 3 was better than 2 imho).
I should admit I was a huge fan of MGS when it came out on the playstation. It combined 3d graphics (if only to sugarcoat admittedly top-down 2d gameplay) with an epic, adult plot (including frisky appeal of the main protagonist's gf and also sniper wolf, the beautiful sharp shooter), A-list voice-acting, cinematic cut scenes and a script that would make Rambo hang his script-writer's head in shame.
What all you reading should know is: MOST OF THE AWESOMENESS OF THE METAL GEAR SERIES ORIGINATED IN THIS SOMEWHAT UNKNOWN MSX GAME. In other words, if Metal Gear appeals to you at all, you need to know about this game. you should try it.
Metal Gear Solid on PSX appeared to be not only a quantum leap forward in graphics, voice acting, etc. but also GAMEPLAY--it seemed to be a huge leap forward from the Nintendo Entertainment System prequel that people knew about. And it was, but it was not an epic leap above this exceptional MSX game. This game introduced and perfected so many of the elements that flabbergasted people when they experienced them in the playstation Metal Gear Solid that it is not fair to say that MGS was an epic lead forward in gameplay, this MSX game was. If you dont believe me, try playing it. I hope it works on vizzed, I am going to test this right now. :)
