the best i can do for a game that dosent work TetraDigm
Graphics: the graphics are about average for a Sega CD game, which means slightly worse looking than a Sega genesis game. Like most Sega CD games, there is this underlying "sharpness" to most images, that just makes them look terrible. Coupled with the very heavy dithering, and writing on floors that is completely incomprehensible, makes this game look like crap, but as I said, on par for Sega CD.
Sound: while the music is actually decent, the voices are what drops the sound quality. The words are muffled, and sound like you're playing Phelios with the treble turned down, and the bass turned up. Hardly anything the game says is understandable, and its quite repugnant to the ear when you pick up an item and you hear "mmmrrrflll prrttin" when you pick up some kind of potion.
addictiveness: there is none. This is a clone of gauntlet, done very badly. All the characters are weak in every way. You start out with several dungeons you can go to, but all of them, the first included, are nearly impossible. It takes forever to kill even the weakest enemy, and all they drop is 1xp. All a level up gives you is a few HP. Items cost huge amounts. Making it to the end of the first dungeon, id gotten about 10k gold, but i hacked my gold to begin with and bought all the items. you wont get through these places otherwise, and anyone who claims they do is either lying, or an epic game master.
story: from what ive seen, theres a crappy intro that takes forever to be over, and it makes very little sense. i cant say theres no other story in the game, because this rom crashes after the first dungeon every time, but even so i am 100% certain that there is nothing else until you beat the game. to start the game, youre not given any form of direction on where to go, but there are several dungeons you can go to, and youll die before getting to all but 1 of them.
Depth: this game seems like a grind. the frist dungeon, with maxed items and at level 90, took me about half an hour to finish. 25 minutes was spent wandering abck and forth between the same floors, over and over and over again, to unlock the doors to the boss. which took about 5 minutes to kill. at max stats. think about that for a moment, and then tell me how likely it is youll beat this thing without cheating.
Difficulty: this game is hard. enemies take forever to kill, and spawn faster then you can kill them. level ups only add hp, and ever room is full of monster spawners that even with a maxed out weapon take some 10-20 hits to kill. items have no description, spells are worthless and just make you shoot multiple directions, and some traps will leave you unable to attack, while you get surrounded by monsters, cannot move or attack, and are forced to stand there and die.
Overall: its clear that this was meant to be a clone of gauntlet, but like everything else "original" on the sega CD, there was no effort put into it. the game looks, sounds, and plays badly. everything is a slow grind, with no reward at all, and the dungeons (at least the first, which likely sets the copy/pasted tone for the whole game) are just wandering back and forth up and down the stairs you jst went to to unlock some doors to go to a boss thats unkillable without cheating. if id bought this game, i would have thrown it in the game shop employees face like a ninja star for not warning me of this travesty.

Dungeon Explorer Review wraithblade999
Hello and welcome to my review
Overall rating: I rate this game a 5 overall so its not the best but also not the worst of its type its got simple controls that are easy to learn there are little to no problems with this game but it can be very frustrating.
Graphics: The graphics are good and the animations are very smooth the attack animation is very satisfying to watch and the special move animations are quite unique and well done. They made me want to try every character at least once to see all the different animations.
Sound: I rate the sound for this game a 6 there is quite a variety of sounds in this game and I found them all to be very fitting for this type of game. There are two problems I found with the sound the first is hearing the attack sound constantly can get annoying. There is also talking in the game but its hard to understand that is the only other problem I found with it.
Addictiveness: This game was not that addictive for me I found it hard to play for more then a hour at a time. I don't know how to explain it other then its fun but gets boring faster then most games like this.
Story: Not much to say here except the story is a generic dungeon crawler story go into a dungeon earn equipment and gold and that is about it with a small twist that I wont spoil for you.
Depth: This game is massive I will say it right now you can not beat it in one sitting. There is a good variety of monsters and map designs for the dungeon/dungeons and the colour schemes also are quite unique and change a bit per floor. For example one floor would be orange while the next one is a more stone grey colour.
Difficulty: This game starts off very hard and quite frustrating even though the controls are easy to learn and use that is not where the difficulty lies. The difficulty lies in finding your way around and not being killed because let me tell you one wrong turn and you will die fast its trial and error when it comes to that so be ready to die a few times before you find your way around.
This was all I could say about this game without spoiling it. All I will say for the end of this review is tread carefully and venture on into those depths enjoy and thank you for reading this.

Awesome game, brought me back to the day marinefa
I loved this game when I was a kid and playing it again I was not disappointed, I plan on playing it for as many hours as I did as a teenager, with less mountain dew this time. This game is fun, it has a lot of things about it that other games just never even tried. The dungeons are long and hard, but not so much so that you want to throw a controller across the room. It also gives you a wide variety of characters to play so that you can not only fit your personal playing style, but you can also play the game over and over again for different experiences. The one thing this game lacks that could use improvement is character specialization. RPG's to me are worlds that the player can envelope themselves in completely and they can truly be the character. When the game advances you on it's own there isn't much you can do to personalize it. The same is true with the equipment, not really much of a selection. That being said it more than makes up for it with re playability and originality. I give it an A+.
