From the first day that I heard about Quake 4, I figured "Man I gotta have this!!". Then what was coming next was a HUGE suprise about Quake 4, and that is that ID games created this in favor of Quake II, and if you guys are familiar with Quake II then you must be familiar with the stroggos. Don't get me wrong alien freaks that mutilate humans to make them into they're kind are pretty cool. But the linearness of the game is what made me saddened, That and the fact that the multiplayer was nothing compared to the good old Quake III days(and team arena). Basically you run from captain to captain getting missions, In a small tunnel based type play. So if you are looking for freeroaming and adventure this isn't for you.the fast paced gameplay and weapons are O.K, but that's all I am giving this as it could have been created wayyyy better than it was. The only times that the game really heats up is the vehicle missions, where you either get to commendeer a vessel or mount up on the back and blast the alien freakazoids running at you in heards.All-in-all this game was something that could have been extremely better in many aspects.Like I stated earlier about freeroaming, they could have made the game more epic in a sense and could have at least expanded on the weapons system, but no! they moved backwards to the Quake II days. we're trying to move forward in technology and creativity, not backwards!

Well for starters when I first purchased this game I underestimated the graphics chip you needed to actually run this at a decent speed, However the game was still playable on my unicore(single core) pentium 4 processor, with geforce 5500 pci card. As slow and as choppy as it was I still played far enough to sample the game, AND IT WAS GREAT!. The freedom to run out of the sewers and into the forests and rivers, The freedom to beat someone over the head in a city and run off as the gaurds chase you down lol. I noticed I needed to upgrade fast to enjoy some of the high end graphics benefits, So promptly I bought a geforce 6200(256 mb) pci card, wich was way faster than the 5500. I then could fully enjoy the huge landscapes and moving dense trees and grass, as I ran around like a lunatic stomping goblin forts, and hurling fireballs at unsuspecting people. I soon realized just how magnificent this game truely is. And the pc version is even better than it's ps3 and xbox 360 counterparts, because you can modify the game for high speeds, better leveling systems, cooler armour, and more lush landscapes. This game is definetly the best fpsrpg ever created, Bar none. The stuff you can do in this game will keep you preoccupied for months, and with the expansion packs(knights of the nine+shivering isles) you will be sucked into this masterpiece of a game even more!

Has anyone ever thought about implementing the panzer dragoon saga style 360 degree (choose a body part)battle system into
one of these rpg makers? I mean man it would be freakin cool to see a moving background and then you could have the capability of aiming at a weak or strong spot then attacking. It wouldnt have to be complete eye candy or super 3d graphics. Just a simple tile moving interface with the capability of selecting the part of the creature/human you want to damage. Sound interesting? I hope so, because this is the idea I am going for. Actually maybe some sorta mix between panzer dragoon saga battle engine, and that one classic game "Dungeons and dragons:warriors of the eternal sun".
