Crash Team Racing Review

I didn't do a review of this before because I didn't see the point of doing it. But why not? Since this is really my most favourite racing game in the world to play. So I figured why not take a try and do it?

Also another thing. I could had posted this up last month in the tdv if I wanted too since it was already done, but didn't I still have a lot more other reviews done, but not posted up.

Story 7 out of 10: When you start the game don't go skipping the cutscene because you'll need to watch it! So you know what its about story mode wise. As seen Dr N Oxide wants to take over the earth, and you'll need to race in various tracks in different worlds to be able to face, and beat him! Since he is the last boss in the game, and one of the fastest racers on the track next to N Trophy. It won’t be easy though so make sure you drive real good, and real fast!

Graphics 8 out of 10: Its in graphics from any ps1 games that you play. Its really colourful too in most areas. I mean just take a look at Coco Park level for an example. So lively and fun too it would just make you really happy to see. Certain areas in the game, and tracks too give that lot of bright colour feel. Even though there are some dark colours such as The Lost Ruins world it still lights up in a way. And with Glacier Park world that gives the snowy feeling since it’s a snow world. So I really like how they made the graphics for this game. Even though the face features may had not been the best then the characters were still cool, and funny to look at regardless of how they were made for this game.

Sound 8 out of 10: It has amazing soundtracks. Most of them kinda feels like a kid kind of feel music. With a lot of upbeat. The best way to describe it....its as if you are racing with a friend on a track at an age like a teen young age. That’s the best way I can give by explaining. You would really enjoy it, and its something you wouldn't really get bored of so quickly. You would actually want to download the soundtrack, and listen to it for how long that you like. Like every character has their own voices all can talk, but one. And that’s crash bandicoot. I love everyone's voices even the bosses, that you face. I mean whats not to like? Each of them has different unique one. Like for instance Ripper Roo can't talk fluently there are sub titles to help to see what he is saying. And Komodo Joe a crocodile, the way he slithers his words at the end like *Soooo lettssss raceeee* I mean its really amazing how these voices came to be.

Addictiveness 9 out of 10: Its like really addictive. You would want to get everything 100% done in the game. If you are not happy with something you would keep playing until you have or until you have perfected it. I'm going to be honest that’s what I did. When I never got to 100% I kept on trying with the most difficult levels, that I got stuck on. For instance getting the purple coin the purple crystal level. Now I have perfected it because it took me years to do. When I would to play it now it would be a breeze for me, that’s how much I played it a lot until I got really good at it. That’s what most people would do, and the shortcuts is one of them. Also you would keep playing crash team racing for fun because of how it draws you in the game, and makes you somehow replay.

Depth 8 out of 10: There are some depth here I mean if you want to complete the game 100% you have to do things like the purple crystal levels on adventure mode, and also ctr and the relics as well. Since the first time around when beating oxide he would not admit defeat, and say since you haven't beaten him in relics, and in other things you are still not the best racer. Then when you have done all of the other things he has said you face him again, and ending him. Personally my favourite level is the gems. Now the gem level people wouldn't do or might for that, you would had to had done all of the ctr letter coins collect level to unlock the gem level. There is red gem, blue gem, green gem, yellow gem. There is one those that know it’s the purple gem. But, as I said before that’s when you have done all of the purple crystal levels on each world. Its really annoying to do but worth it. Or you'll won't be able to open up that special gem level. You can unlock other characters too. When you start off with this game it will only be 8 characters, Crash, Coco, Dingo Dile, Polar Bear, Neo Cortex, Tiny and a tiger called Pura. To unlock the rest you need to finish adventure mode. There is a special character you can unlock that is when you play the time trial section. I am going to be honest this one comes second as my favourite its how I got really good with my boosting, and to be able to control it as well. N trophy can be found in time trial. if you beat his record he will then come out, and challenge you. If you beat him again he should be in the pick ile where you want to pick a character to race. Or you can do it the fast way and do what people do now which is kind of lazy, and that’s the cheats. I only do that one to unlock Penta Penguin. I like to do the long way for the others. It’s a lot more fun that way if people do it the easy way I feel that its boring, and you would just not get fun from out of that.

Difficulty 8 out of 10: It gets harder as you race more. Like for instance N. Sanity Beach world will start off very easy, but when you race in more worlds beyond that it would become harder. So make sure you race, and race to win with that boosting! I suggest practicing your boosting it’s the one thing some or most people would find hard to do.

Overall 9 out of 10: It’s a great game. I mean who wouldn't want to play a racing game like that? Its fun, cool and has the adventure mode that is really fun to do. You can also go at it with friends and siblings in the multiplayer mode for 4. This game is full of adventures and plays you would want to go through. If you haven't played the game I really recommend you to try.

Wow over a thousand words! Not sure I've seen you do that before, or at least not for a while. Nice job Eni, glad to see you posting reviews again.

I agree this was a good game, but that's been my experience with every Crash game I've been fortunate enough to play. I've sadly only gotten to play a race or two in this one but I own Crash Nitro Kart and love it. And what little I got to play of Crash Team Racing was enough to show me that it too was a fun game. I would love to see a new Crash racing game released after the platformer remakes.

Eirinn : Thanks a lot big bro! Yeah I'm surprised I don't think I have gotten to that many words. It won't always happen though I was in the moment of explaining things and so it went up really high! I wanted to get it out of the way with since there are other things I need to do which I'll let you know on soon. I will post up another review but not today. Sorry to hear you haven't been able to play many crash games as you should. Crash Nitro Kart is an ok game for me not the best, but its a good game in a way. The only thing I like about the game was adventure mode. Yeah I also agree and would like to see a new crash racing game, that takes after something like Crash Team Racing. If that was to happen I would actually go and buy the game to play it.

I think I played this game on the original xbox before. I cant remember if it was exactly this one but if it was I enjoyed it. My local dentist had a Xbox their and I was like why not. Waiting blows and prefer to have something to do lol. But I really enjoyed the review Eni! You have gotten everything right with this review and I cant wait until you come out with another one.
