Just as the title says.. Do you keep track?

If so how many have you beat?
What system has the most games on your list?

I am at 190 games right now pushing towards that 200 game milestone. My top system being the NES at 63 games. Some questions though...

I don't count Tetris. Those few who may know me know I'm basically the top dog here at that game yet I don't even count it. For example the NES version.. I don't think I've beat it until my score is 999,999... the top score.

I can score 60 goals in a game in NHL 97' .. But I don't count that. do I count a sports game because I won a Stanley Cup or Super Bowl?

Mario Party 1... Beat the 1P mini-game land. Got all 100 stars, had Bowser steal them, got them back... don't count it. Should I though?

What do you guys think?

No. Idk how many i've beaten, I just beat Popeye on gameboy, but I don't keep track of that.

I don't beat that many games, but I like to think i've beaten quite a few.

I don't keep track of how many games I've beat. At least not yet. For the moment I can't put a number on it, but if I see a game I've beat I'll go "Eh...Beat that one already".

Also, I'd say if you got that score in Tetris you can consider yourself a winner! And yes, you've beat Mario Party 1 also. I don't know much about NHL 97' though.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

I've been playing games since the NES days, so I've beaten so many games I'm not even going to try to guess, most likely hundreds. And RPGs are my favorite genre, so I've dumped thousands of hours into games... So... No, I don't keep track. I just play what I feel like playing. Never even thought about counting how many games I've beaten. XD

I used to do that with Megaman X and any other game that had a series. I stopped doing that because I realized it kind of ruined the fun because I was mainly focusing on beating the game and rushing through it, not appreciating any of the background or the general gameplay of the games.

F. Starr : I had never kept count either until about 2 years ago. Somebody asked me and I said the same as you... probably hundreds. Even though I still had over 100 at the time. It was surprising to find out how wrong I was.

And I hear ya on the RPG's. My count is at 65 beat. (currently playing Tales of Symphonia) I feel like I have fought a million battles and it might not be an exaggeration.

On a different note, their are also games like Mario Kart. If you get the Gold Cup on Special for SNES it's definitely beating the game. But can the same be said about Mario Kart Wii?

I have a tougher time deciding what games count as beatable than I do beating games!

No I do not; there are just too many of them on so many consoles that I can not keep the count. It is well over 50 - the reviews I have made - but I can not put an exact figure.

Dragoon26 : Sports game are "beaten" once you get through them, usually by winning a trophy. Do not take time trials into consideration, otherwise it is NEVER over; you will always try to beat your previous time.

F. Starr : I am into RPGs too, so I guess it would make the counting even harder since we spend so much time on those.

Even though I love the topic of this thread, I have never really stopped and counted exactly how many total games I have beaten. I know for a fact that NES games probably have the most number of games coming from one console. I've beaten games from the NES all the way to the current generation of games on the PS4 and Xbox One. There's no way that I can give you an exact number of all the games.

And as for your takes on Tetris and sports games...I wouldn't count Tetris in my "list of games that I have beaten." Its good to score 999,999 points and I can understand if you think you've beat the game when you've done that, but I don't count it in my case. However, if you're playing a sports game and you win the Stanley Cup, Super Bowl, World Series, etc I
do think that game is worth listing. So I would count sports games, but not games where there is really no objective to the actual game itself.

But again, its just my opinion.

I don't keep track of how many I've beaten but I do have something of a photographic memory when it comes to that kind of stuff.

Thinking about it I think I've beaten maybe.....60 games. I'm not as hardcore a completionist as many others, but on the contrary I take my time in games trying to perfect them, as well as beating them.

Lesse.. 4, 7... I've only beaten 15 games. Honestly, I sort of subconciously keep track of how many games I've beaten, simply because I've beaten so few of them (Most of which are on the Wii).

I don't, if I beat a game, then that's it, I beat it. I don't really care about game stats, just about actually playing it.

MattyIce : I say there is a way to "beat" Tetris. You just need to complete everything in B mode. Because reaching the maximum score without savestates looks pretty impossible.

janus : I agree with what you say about time trials.. Talk about a never ending mission. Also, that opens up the possibility for a game like Mario Kart Wii being "beat" by acquiring all Gold Cups in everything. Maybe throw in unlock everything and I think that is good enough.

I see what you mean with Tetris as well. Level 9 Height 5 might be the goal there...

I don't keep track on all the games I beat, if I beat it, I beat it.

For the 15 years I have been playing video games, I have a huge list of all the games I have beaten from all consoles I played from the NES to the Wii-U, the GameBoy to the 3DS, and the PS1 to the PS3.

I can't give you an exact number, in fact, I don't even know how many games I played for the entire 15 years.

IgorBird122 : you may be in the biggest minority on this. Someone who keeps a list yet does not know the actual number.

hellno163 : hellno you don't... ha.

So far it seems that most people do not keep track. Small sample size but it's all we have so far.

That's an interesting question and I think when time allows I'll try to count. I feel like I've beaten 100s over the years but I'm probably wrong too. For one thing, how do you beat Donkey Kong? Can you? lol.  I think there's plenty of games I think I've beaten but probably got close and quit too. (Solomon's Key of the top of my head) Do you have to be able to get to the kill screen to 'beat' Pac-Man? I've beaten plenty of RPGs and action-shooter games too though. When I was a kid, there were almost no games that really had an ending that I can think of. Adventure for Atari. A few for Intellivision. Otherwise it was all about the high score.

No, when I actually considered starting doing it I figured it was too late since I couldn't remember all the games I've beat, and yeah there's the question of what exactly counts as beating the game in some cases. I'm starting to get a bit addicted to trophy hunting on my Playstation 4 though, so I suppose that could count, right now I'm trying to get as many of the Bloodborne trophies, probably the hardest game I've tried tackling.

In a way, yes. But in a way, no.

I use trueachivements.com to help me with XBOX achievements if I need a guide on how to get one, or if I need some helping getting one, I can make a session to get people to mutually help each other. It's also a good site to use to see what you still need to get in a game if you are a completionist.

So, in a way I do, but more indirectly than directly lately.

I've beaten so many games, it would be hard to keep track of them all. I don't record them per se, but I know by memory how many games I've beaten....well over 1000

I used to keep track of them in a notebook in the old days, but as I got older it wasn't as important to me.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
