Probably not. Sonic going downhill with each passing day. Let's just hope the new television series is non canon.

I highly doubt that Sega will have Sonic return to the way it was back in the first 3 games, even on how much we want to.

Although we have seen Mario return back to his first Super Mario games and they are really good though, but seeing the same fate happen to Sonic, we won't really know. Remember, the first 3 Sonic games were on the Sega Genesis, which was Nintendo's rival at the time, and how Sega tried to put Nintendo out of business, I personally think that a return to Sonic's origins more in like won't happen, but who knows, that could be false and we see an original reboot to the series on a future Nintendo console.

I think you guys are looking at this from a wrong perspective.
Sonic Boom isn't the worst game.
Sonic Adventure 2 is actually not that great, honestly. Stop treating it like the best Sonic game. Maybe it's your favorite, but in reality it's not that good. Only good thing about it were the Sonic/Shadow stages and Chao Garden. Besides that, it sucked.
And I think so, we just have to stop wanting a remake or something.
Time changes everything, and this happens with games as well.
Sonic Generations was amazing, so that proves Sega is capable of making good Sonic games. Everyone just wants a game exactly like the original, which makes no sense because there is already that.
So, be a bit more open minded and you might be surprised about how Sonic games aren't completely dead yet, and you might even love a few of them.

Even though Sonic has been going downhill on its route into the future, Sega can't just let the series go back to its roots. If Sega wants the series to be relevant in this day and age, they have to keep adding new concepts, new characters. Their execution is what's wrong.

Sadly no, sonic will never go back to the side scrolling action you used to get, which is what everyone loved. Even though sonic sucks now a days, there really isn't much for SEGA to do. They are trying everything, all they have left is to introduce new characters people like, and maybe have some cross overs with Mario and things like that. Other than those, Sonic is done, SEGA needs something new to entertain kids.

I don't know...will he ever go back? I mean that's a hard question. Sega has ruin sonic to the point as ender said to do one thing and move on to the next idea, instead of leaving it on 1 idea. I don't really like modern sonic of today because of that. If only Sega would had listened they wouldn't be in this deep pit of trouble. And making sonic into something, that he was not meant to be in the first place.

At this point. you'd think that they already would have. It really doesn't make any sense as to why they haven't just done a straight up sidescrolling sonic in the past decade, because that's literally all that people have wanted for the longest time, ever since Sonic made his transition to 3D. So at this point, seeing as they still haven't released a 2D Sonic game, I don't see it as very likely. Is it possible? Sure. But not likely.

Knowing Sega, I'd doubt it.


To me it seems like Sega's more interested in making an Epic Storyline that nobody really cares about over a good game, Funny enough that always ended in utter disaster.

Sonic 06 tried to be epic, failed horribly with meh visuals, decent soundtrack. Terrible gameplay and lots of load times.

I'm not hearing anything good about the Sonic Boom games.

And Yes I hate the sonic boom cartoon. They took some character's main characteristics and took that away from them.


For crying out loud Sega, look at all the Mario games, their always well received, and they don't have an Epic Storyline. Learn from your mistakes, quit worrying about a Storyline and just give us a fun-fast 3D or 2D platformer. that's what Sonic should be about, no more, no less.
