I just began to find the hidden power of the wii, and I decided to look into getting some free demos, as I am not too sure about dishing out money and not getting a disc. Following the simple, addicting retro style of this series is Bit trip runner! This game is a whole barrel of fun! I absolutely love this game and hope to get my hands on the Bit Trip Complete disc. Seemingly simple, yet deceptively treacherous. Watch out for pitfalls and enemies and always watch your head! As the game progresses, you gain more and more abilities. So far I have acquired jump, slide, kick, and spring, which will be activated when you hit the little purple boxes on the ground. So let's run along and see what is so great about this game.

Way cool! I love the awesome blend of retro and modern graphics. They work so great together! I was especially appreciative of the color scheme. Even in the darker places everything still had a cheery look to it. The block minecraft kind of look for everything is just beyond awesome, and I hope that they decide to make more awesome games like this!
Sound: 10
I think that the sound has to be the strongest department of this series. It technically is not a music game, but every move you make creates more beats to the song, so when you play well, the music flows well. The songs that they choose, I never can seem to get tire of. Once again, the retro take on things just works perfectly to me!
Addictiveness: 10
Even the demo is extremely addicting! I've played as far as it would let me twice already, and I had just as much the second time as I did the first. I was pleased that they were putting extra moves in there, because I was beginning to think that the game might get boring if all I had to do was jump! But there is more to this game than meets the eye, and I cannot wait to actually play the full version of this game!
Story: No rating
I know there is a cutscene at the beginning, but that was all I saw. I really did not see much of anything else to give any indication of a storyline. Just bitman crash landing somewhere. And I don't want to give it an unfair rating for something I have not even seen So, I'm not rating this yet...though I may update this department in the future...
Depth: 9
While the demo itself does not go very far (about 6 1/2 levels) The full game looks as though it has quite a few levels and some challenging bosses. I like the fact that if you manage to collect all the gold in a level, you get to play a bonus level where you try to collect even more gold. So as if the levels are not enough, you can try to shoot for the bonus levels!
Difficulty: 8
It's not too tough, but good enough to get a good, fun challenge out of it. Stuff really starts to get tricky when they start adding different moves in there! Just adding the slide into the mix could be tricky if you are not quick enough. Especially in a combo move where you need to jump slide, jump to get the gold, then slide again, then, jump, jump, jump, to get up the steps. Overall, the difficulty is just fun and challenging. Overall: 9
Why not? With great sounds, cool graphics and fun gameplay, who even needs a storyline?! Bit trip runner is what I would call a modern classic. It's good enough to stand up with all the arcade giants, and yes, it was made in the wii's time!
