I agree. I was just a tad annoyed with corruption and/or favoritism that was implied in his post.

I do think the system is pretty in-efficient as is. Those PMs just get buried.

It might work better if there was some sort of thread specifically for forum changes.

I been pming David so many times last year. We even started posting threads even though the forum isnt up yet. He should of at least did ours while he done yours :/.

I remember the Thumb Athletes forum took on the order of 6 months to get set up. Not fun.

The fix might be some sort of thread for forum changes instead of us all PM'ing him.

Is there enough clammor for David to make a better system for mod handleship on forums, like, do you think we could get him to make an operation panel or something for it? I'm afraid to ask for my forum to be changed because of how long it may take, and I'n not entirely sure I'll be able to run my RP with my time constraints!

I mean, what If It turns out to be a bad idea?

There's another 6 months to wait until David changes my forum back.

(Not complaining about him, I mean, I understand and all, a website can keep you busy. )

EideticMemory :  I didn't read a hint of 'favoritism' in bec's post.  However, like play, I can't blame him for being a little upset.  When I saw this forum was changed, I was a little upset myself. I can't speak for bec, but I know I've pm'd David more than once about it, and summoned him even more times.  I think it's approaching a year that we've been waiting, actually, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like a forum for discussing certain pharmaceuticals and their adverse health effects...

I'm not sure what PMs your guys are talking about. If you guys sent forum modification requests before 2 months ago then you'll have to send them again. Twice in the past year I've had my browser crash with a bunch of tabs open with stuff I had planned on getting to and for whatever reason Firefox didn't let me restore those tabs in both situations so I had no way of knowing what I did or didn't take care of.

I'm only 1 human you guys and I don't think any of you realize just how incredibly time consuming and stressful taking care of this place is. It would seem like the easy solution would be to make an admin panel where Admins can take care of stuff like this for me but that'd be very time consuming for many reasons. Here are 2 of those reasons which I recently told the Admins about

"Firstly, it has to have the best possible security. If anyone somehow figured out a way to get their hands on it and found a way to bypass the security, they could do a lot of damage on the site very fast. I have to do a lot of thorough testing.

Secondly, I have to take my time and my state of mind has to be top notch. If I'm tired, lacking sleep or have distractions of any sort, that could be catastrophic for the site. The reason is because 1 little mistake or typo could result into serious DB damage.

For example, this query updates a user's name:
UPDATE users SET name='New Name' WHERE id=5

While this query updates the name of every single user on the site:
UPDATE users SET name='New Name'

A simple mistake like that could ruin the site. There are countless other examples of how small little mistakes or typos or simply forgetting something in code could alter the site in a very bad way. "

Please don't add to the already overwhelming stress that I have with this site, there have been times when I've asked myself if this is all even worth it anymore. I feel like no one is ever happy with me and that just makes me sick considering I've sacrificed so much to this site.

Davideo7 :  I didn't mean to sound like I was complaining at all.  I've always defended you when it takes time for you to get to things.  You have a lot on your plate and I didn't mean for you to take my comment personally.  I just mainly understood why bec would be upset and was slightly upset that mrfe's got done first.  It was such a minor feeling though, that it was hardly even worth mentioning.  I know you'll get to it eventually.

I don't have the details any more, but I'm sure bec does and I'm sure he'll send you the information.

We do appreciate what you do.  I see more praise than whining.  Maybe people just need to summon you to those types of posts.

And with what Becarra said, don't take that personally. Sometimes people can just get impatient and say mean things. We all know that you are trying your absolute hardest to try and make this a great place, and when people complain, it just messes it up. People really need to understand how hard it is for you to do all of this and keep the site up 24/7, and with getting the small economic gains. It just takes someone in your situation to understand how hard you work for so little progress,



Just don't mind it and keep going at a pace that will still allow you to have time to spend with your family and do things you like, and don't let people's complaining distract you.

You do a lot for this place, and it's something that I'm grateful for. It really is one of the best sites on the internet to be on because of the rules that are enforced and the atmosphere.


It's like my dad. People criticize him cause he's the boss, and they *think* that they see ways to do things better.

Often times they don't.


For me judge you would be impossible. Even in the more demanding things that I've done in life doesn't even compare to what you have done. People really owe you a lot of respect if they spend any normal amount of time here. Really.


And coding, I know how one little mistake can ruin everything, And I know that just from layouts.


I personally think you're an awesome guy Davidio. I mean, you've set a standard for this place and even uploaded a Bible that says a lot, and I would want to keep encouraging you to do so.



You set a foundation for me here. By being able to actually access the retro games that were hard to get, and getting me connected to a community who loved what I loved.

The encouragement I've found here has allowed me to expand, I'm making my own PC game now. (retro themed) And without Vizzed, who knows what I would have done?

It's awesome.

So few people realize how awesome this place is because they get used to it all and all. Really, why aren't people more thankful?


I'll be honest.

I want to get my own site someday. (probably for my own game, but hey, it's still a board!)


If it weren't for you, I might not have what I have now and would be going where I am going.
