Here is another IB review from The IB.
This game is on Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS that was released with the 3DS handheld on November 13th, 2011. This is the only 2nd 3D Mario game on a handheld device (after Super Mario 64 DS), and being the 5th Mario game that was set in a 3D world. This game since it’s released has been one of the top selling 3DS games even to this day with millions being sold for 3DS systems. Others has said that this is a must try game for the 3DS, so that’s why I tried this game out, and after I have tried this said game out, I do have to say, it is quite an amazing game to play. Well, if I want to say on why this is a really great game, I will go ahead and write down this review by each category.

Graphics..

The Graphics in the game are in a 3D format which is only the 5th time in the entire series that the Mario series has seen (after Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2), this series brings both the mix of what we knew in the Super Mario Bros. 3 game and mix it up with the 3D world of Super Mario 64, and combine them both and put it onto a 3D handheld, and you happen to get Super Mario 3D Land. I think the graphics are quite amazing. And this is a 2011 handheld game which more in likely when they release games with the consoles/handhelds, they would be a few flaws with the games, and I don’t hardly see any flaws with the graphics at all, and I think to my point of view, this is a whole lot of hard work Nintendo to make this game a top on the line 3D handheld game. And if you now factor the new 3D feature that the 3DS has, that just brings a whole new element to the whole game, where you really playing a true 3D game (maybe 4D, but I might just be joking with that). I think this is an interesting feature Nintendo came up with. All I can surly say, nicely done Nintendo for coming up with this.

As with all that said about the graphics, I have to give this a perfect 10 out of 10. There really isn’t any better number to say if you want to say about the cool new 3D graphics in the game, this game’s graphics to my point of view could be a benchmark for future 3D Mario games like Super Mario 3D World which took this game with a new element.

Sound/Music..

You know what, I just flat out love both the sound effects and the music in this game, I think as for both of them, they are quite enjoyable and so musical. Let me start out with the sound effects first. The sound effects of this game brings the sound effects from the New Super Mario Bros. Wii game and added into this game and added a whole lot new content this game like bringing back some Super Mario Bros. 3 sounds and give it a modern twist, and I can tell I like these sounds because Super Mario Bros. 3 is my most favorite Mario game in history, and bringing these sounds back is quite amazing, even know they sound a whole lot more modern, but hey, at least they didn’t make it bad though, as long I like it, I like it.

As for the music, I really love the music, because it brings some music from Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, although I haven’t played those two games personally, but after hearing some of the gameplay in those games and hear the music on here, I just love it, but just SMG 1 & 2, it also brings some remix versions of the original Super Mario Bros. and I know the original is always better than modern, but this the rare exception, I think they made the original soundtrack a whole lot better in this game and I do quite like it a bit, I hope Nintendo keeps up with this amazing feet with music in their games, keep it up.

With that said, I will give the sound and music a perfect 10 out of 10, the reason why I give it this, just look at how amazing Nintendo did the music and the sound effects on here, they are quite outstanding for the player that plays this, although it really depends on the players, some players don’t care too much about the music, but a lot of users likes a good, decent soundtrack in those games and I am one of them.

Addiction Level..

Where do I begin with the Addiction Level? Well, you can say, this game is highly addicting, because after all, it is a highly popular game on the Nintendo 3DS, maybe on any Nintendo handheld device, and that sure is saying something because we have a lot of nice titles released on handhelds by Nintendo. Once you start, you can’t give up this game and yes, even the game is a little different  than an ordinary Mario game (regarding how many levels each world has) (which I will describe down in Depth) but I think the contents in this game will drive the most people in this game because the levels are long, but quite entertaining though. With the entertaining levels which will make people be glued to their 3DS playing this game and this is what makes this game a highly popular game for the 3DS (might not be the most popular 3DS game but it is extremely close to the top though).

With that said, I will give the Addiction Level a perfect 10 out of 10. This is the 3rd section I have given a “10” because on how addicting this game happen to be, extremely addicting game nonetheless. A lot of people will be stuck playing this game. Come on, it’s a Mario game in 3D on the Nintendo 3DS, you can’t get wrong with that.

The Storyline..

The Storyline brings that classic Mario storyline we all are familiar with; Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and wreaks havoc on the Mushroom Kingdom. But this time, a huge thunderstorm rocked the whole kingdom and it blew all the leaves off the Tanooki tree. After the storm passed through, Mario and the Toads goes outside to observed the damages and seen a picture near the Tanooki tree, where Bowser has yet, again, kidnapped the Princess. So, what does Mario do, he starts his adventure through multiple worlds to save the princess. During his adventure between worlds, Mario sees that Peach has attempted to escape, but all failed. Once Mario goes through all the worlds and comes face to face with Bowser again, he does everything to stop his madness and defeats him yet again and Mario reunite with Peach once again and finally restore the Mushroom Kingdom once again. But you can be for sure this won’t be the last time this happens, because it can happen again at some point.

As for the Storyline of the game, I will give it an 8 of 10. The reason I give it an 8, it does repeat the same similar storyline from most of the past games, I know some people likes tradition and others like to see a chance once in a while. I think personally, I don’t really look at the storyline (unless you want to see what’s need to be done), but I do in a way like this one in this game, so that’s why it’s got an 8.

Depth..

Ok, the Depth of the game, they might not be a whole lot of levels in each world, but to make up the lack of levels, the game has 16 worlds which is double the amount from a typical Mario game which is a whole lot of worlds that the player can tour in, plus this game has brought back a lot of things from Super Mario Bros. 3 (and like what I said, Super Mario Bros. 3 is my most favorite Mario game), like bringing back the leaf, bringing back some enemies that were in SMB. 3, and adding in new enemies to the mix as well. So, in reality, they added quite a lot of things in this game. With the 16 worlds I mention earlier, that is a whole lot of worlds, and figure that each world has 5 levels and you times that by 16, that is 80 levels right there and add the Mystery Box levels that appears in every world, that is 16, so we have a total of 96 levels. That is a lot of levels. So, if you like long games, this is the game right here.

With the Depth of the game that I mentioned in this, I have to give this a 9 out of 10. I think if they add “everything” from Super Mario Bros. 3 instead of 3/4 of the things, this would easily be another 10/10 game. But hey, as long that most of the things they bring back in this game is from Super Mario Bros. 3, that’s all I care about. I mostly like the amount of content in this one game. It is quite amazing.

Difficulty / Gameplay..

Ok, now onto the Difficulty of the game. Just like in typical Mario fashion, the game starts out easy, but then the later you advance, the tougher and tougher it does become and once you arrive at World 8, things will really start getting difficult for you (Well, what do you expect, 9 times out of 10, World 8 is always Bowser’s World), and once you defeat Bowser, you’ll be going to the 8 Special Worlds and all 8 of those worlds can be quite as hard as World 8, so my expectation, be prepared for entering a really hard world starting with Normal World 8 and from that point on, it will be hard. Other than that, the game is quite easy.

As for the Gameplay, I love the new 3D controls, this reminds be back in the old Super Mario 64 days, although it’s a little tough to figure out at first like in normal 3D Mario games, once you figure out the controls, the controls will be quite easy to control Mario through your adventure through the 16 Worlds. Although the only disadvantage I do have with the gameplay is the lack of the triple jump move because having the mix of the 2D Mario games and the 3D Mario games and that can mess everything up, although you still can perform other moves like you can wall jump, do a Sideways somersault, a Backflip and also he can do his long jump, but that’s about it other than his classic moves from the classic games. But other than those flaws, I think the controls in the game are pretty alright.

On what I said about the Difficulty and the Gameplay, I will give this game an 8 out of 10, I think that if the control flaws wasn’t much of an issue, this would been a 9 or even a 10, but the lack of a triple jump isn’t too much of a problem of the game, I think with the Gameplay and Difficulty at a standpoint, I think it makes this a really great game.

Overall..

Overall, I will give this game the final score of a 9.2 out of 10. With the new 3D graphics in a 2D world is probably one of the amazing features that was added in Super Mario 3D Land which all looks so crystal clear, and it wasn’t just the graphics that got this amazing score, so did the Sound and the Music, if you look at it, Nintendo bringing the sounds and music from past Mario games and give it that more modern twist is one amazing thing Nintendo did. And the amount of Depth and how this affected the addiction level, with a total of 16 worlds with a total of 96 levels to try out, this is why the Depth and Addiction Level is so high for this game. And the Difficulty and the Gameplay were both alright, although if they didn’t have limitations with their controls, I think it would be better, but meh, And the only little flaw was the story because it does show that classic Bowser kidnaps Peach which is like the same story, but I not really too much against it, I like the storyline in this game, some might think it’s boring, but not to me, but hey, it’s their opinion.

For my final thoughts on Super Mario 3D Land, I think this is one outstanding game for the Nintendo 3DS, in fact, one of the Top 5 3DS games out there to this day, so if you haven’t try this game out, try it out, this game is really one fun and entertaining game in the Mario series.

Here is another IB review from The IB.

Repeat every level as Luigi. Beat Bowser again. Now, repeat the depth. And difficulty. Harder than anything. Peeeewwwwww... Technically there are 95 levels, excluding the Mistery Boxes, and then repeat everything with Luigi for a 100%? Oh jeez, even THAT is not the true 100%!
Do not die more than 5 times in a level in the first 8 worlds! That's how hard the true 100% is!
*slaps myself*
This is your review. Not mine.

Great review, Igor. It was worth it to read everything. Good spelling, good quality, and a good review overall.
The only thing we would disagree would be depth and difficulty.
Anyways, I hope to see more from you soon.
