Hey gamers and everyone! i am looking to build a computer next month. i want to assemble something that will at the very least allow me full use of vizzed features and games (that are accessible of course). this is an area im a bit out of touch with and i am still fairly new to gaming on the computer. if someone could advise me on what i should basically be getting to do this i would love it. i want to keep my spending around 400 bucks if possible to give you an idea there. anyone who can help i would appreciate it. thank you!

Go to BestBuy. Find a cheap-ish laptop. Buy it. done.

It lets you know if all of the parts are compatible before you buy them. It also has some recommending builds for different price ranges. Building it looks pretty simple based on videos I've watched since there isn't a lot of room for mistakes (normally)
I'd also recommend looking into steam if you want to play games other than rgr games.

jack3604 : That isn't what I'd recommend . I got a laptop from Bestbuy for $400. It was okay, but I didn't realize that it was pretty bad for the price. Bestbuy's products are all overpriced in my opinion, so I look online if I'm going to buy anything for PCs. Minecraft was pretty laggy on it too, but it was my first laptop so I thought it was pretty fast . Also, with laptops you can't change the parts inside it as easily. With a computer you just have to pop the side off then take out or put in whatever you want.

MCJungleKitty : hey mc. well i have done a build for a pc on a site. to note i am also looking to do minecraft and steam at some point. i have included pics of what i have set up as a build for the potential system. i think this is the best i can do budget wise atm. if you have any points you would like to share i would be most grateful. 



notably the thing was the video card which i found out is basically like a graphics card. they do video cards so i figured what i found would be sufficient to at least do vizzed and minecraft...probably steam some but i am not dipping into steam so much for a bit yet and then there is always upgrading. let me know what you think. thankz.

oldschoolboyz : That computer looks just fine! I was going to tell you about the graphics card, but that was before I saw that the CPU was an APU (which you mentioned at the bottom). I would recommend you go with this one or this one. They're both the same graphics card, but since they're on Ebay I don't know how long they'll be around. The graphics card I put links to I actually had before the one I have now and it was able to run Call of Duty: Black Ops on Max settings . I tried running Black Ops 2 on max and it worked for a while but eventually crashed (I don't know why, I don't even know if it was the graphics card to be honest). I don't know how expensive the one you put on there was, but this card should be the same amount if not cheaper because of Ebay. Both of the sellers have 100% positive feedback so I doubt they will scam you with this .

   Next up, you do not need a sound card since the motherboard you have already has on-board audio as it should in this day and age. I'm sure the sound on it is fine, considering I have a $50-60 motherboard (relatively cheap compared to a lot of other motherboards) and it's sound is perfect. If you want even better sound (which honestly I don't think you should, a computer with a sound card and without a sound card sound the same to me), then I'd say go with the sound card. It will be cheaper to go without it, but if I remember, sound cards are cheap anyway. 

   Everything else looks good! The CPU has a speed of 3 GHz and mine is 3.5 GHz, but I've learned that speed doesn't really matter. Most processors are about 3 anyway. The main HUGE difference between your CPU and mine, is that mine has 8 cores. Yours only has 2 and I'm not sure how that will effect your computer. I'd say try to get a quad-core and if you go with the graphics card I put in the links, it might still be as cheap as your original build . Since the CPU is something that is so important, going the extra $30-50 bucks can be worth it in the end. There always is upgrading but considering the fact that you'd probably have to upgrade in less than a year of having it, I'd say to go with a quad-core.

   I don't know much about motherboards, but like I said earlier about the sound card topic, your motherboard already has sound ports so you should be fine with that part. There isn't much more a motherboard has to be able to do. It's basically just got to power up everything in your computer, which every modern motherboard can do.

   The ram/memory looks good, I'm no expert about certain ram brands you should buy from, but any should suffice. The only problem I see is that you only have 1 stick for 8GB. In my opinion, you should have 2 sticks with 4GB each, just so that if one stops working, you still have 4 gigabytes of ram instead of having none and having your PC not work. I recommend these, because I actually have that except I have 12GB so 3 sticks. Mine came with 4 sticks but I accidentally broke one of the ram slots when I took it out and put it back in. You know how they tell you the ram should snap right in? All I have to say is that you should snap it in yourself instead of pushing harder and harder, waiting for it to snap. 4 gigabytes runs well for the average PC user but 8 makes sure you have enough for almost any game. If it was DDR2 it wouldn't be compatible in your PC (if I am correct about that) and it would be extremely slow anyway.

   I pretty much have the same information about the storage as I do for the ram. I think as long as it's a full terabyte of space, you're set. The speed doesn't matter to me because as long as it saves your information/downloads at an average rate, you're good. The only thing is that this one is cheaper and has a cache of 64MB. Now I'm not sure how important a cache is (umm) but it's the same one I've got so it must be good. What I know is that a cache works like ram, which means it will have information ready before your computer is done processing it, so it's probably worth it. And again, it's cheaper so in all it's worth it. You could buy an SSD later on and install that into your PC because those are the fastest storage devices out there. I don't think it's worth it yet because the last time I checked, for a 120 GB SSD, it's $80 or so, and that's more than it is for you to buy a terabyte of space. They do however run together, but I'm not sure how it works because I've never used an SSD. My friend does use it with an HDD and it works fine, I just don't know if it's worth it.

   I already talked about your graphics card, so I'll talk about your case. It's an ATX case which is good because that means it will fit bigger graphics cards when you decide to upgrade (I'm assuming you will). I'm going to tell you right now that your motherboard is a micro ATX which means it's meant for smaller cases. Since the case is ATX, I had to look up whether the Antec Three Hundred Two would support a micro ATX motherboard and it looks like it will go fine.

   Your power supply is amazing and to be honest. I wish that deal was going on when I got my computer a while ago. $40 for a 750 watt PSU! There isn't much else to say about PSUs because all they do is supply power to the motherboard.

   About your optical drive, are you actually going to use Blu-ray? If you aren't then I suggest the LG GH24NSC0B. It actually is the exact same optical drive that I have in my computer . It's only $20 and it does everything the other one can do, if not better (except for the Blu-ray, of course). There's a $30 difference there, but it's worth it if you are going to use Blu-ray. You can decide if Blue-ray is that important. Most likely, if you do use Blu-ray, it will be important as you probably buy Blu-ray DVDs casually.

   Any Windows 7 would work so I have no advice about that, and I already told you that you don't need the sound card. Any WiFi adapter should work fine, and the keyboard and mouse are completely up to you. My computer geekiness really comes out when someone asks me about them . For a presentation I had to do last year, I presented what each part of a computer did. I had to do some research on some of the items, but because of that I know more than most 14 year olds do. I know for a fact that I know the most in my grade (even though my friend thinks he does). My twin brother knows more than me, not going to lie, but since he does know more than me, that is why I take as much pleasure in researching as I do . I hope your computer goes well, and make sure to ask me questions if needed. I might not be able to help you build it as I, myself have never built a computer, only watched. MCJungleKitty : ok...so i did a new build based off your recommendations. i think i actually managed to get something better for cheaper actually...lol. although sadly i believe the blu ray drive may have to wait. i noted the video card was in fact GDDR5 on this one too. i have included a picture for your perusal. i am sure all hardware is compatible as the site has a program that sees to that. that was one of the reasons i used it. aside from that...yes, a skype from your bro would be cool. i have to make a new one and i will detail you with that info later. here is the shot:

   "First I should mention the CPU. I changed it because it was 2 cores. I found another processor that would at least be 4 cores and it was 6 cores. It's from the same series as mine (FX series) and it's 6 cores, so I guess you can't complain . But since I had to change your processor, I had to change the motherboard as well because they weren't compatible. It turns out that motherboard was really old, same as the processor. The motherboard I chose for you is the same motherboard I have for myself . You'll thank me later . In total it was $40 more, but it will be worth it.
 
    I talked about the ram a little bit on the other post. The ram in there was only 1 stick of ram and it had 8GB on it. It was good, but if it stopped working, your computer wouldn't work because it would have 0GB of ram. That's why I found you that one. It's got 2 sticks of ram that have 4GB on each, so if one stops working, you'll still have 4GB of ram in your computer. it's $20 more, but it's worth it.
 
   I talked about the storage on the other post too. This one is the exact same thing except it's got a 64MB cache, while the other one has a 0MB cache. This just means that it will have more stuff ready for you before the computer processes everything. It's sort of like ram. In total, this was $-15 than the other one.  .
 
   The graphics card I have on there says it's $80, but if you get it off one of the Ebay links I sent you, (this and this), it would be $60. I thought since the CPU I chose for you didn't have on-board graphics, or wasn't an APU, it would be best to get this graphics card anyway. In total, it was $20 more.
 
   I chose a different case because it was cheaper. It's the same case I have and I read that the cooling on it is amazing, so it isn't that bad . It's also an ATX so it didn't change anything. It was $-15 than the other one, so that saved some money.
 
   I kept the same power supply because that was the best PSU you could get for that price! The optical drive however, I changed because it was way cheaper than the other one. It's the one I have and it works fine for me. The only thing it will affect is the ability to watch Blu-ray DVDs on your computer. This shouldn't matter too much, but if it does, you can switch it back to the old one.  It was $55 less!!! That will save you a lot of money, and that's no lie.
 
   I didn't do anything to operating system on your PC because it was fine, but I changed your WiFi adapter to the other one for the reason that it was cheaper. It's the one I have, and it works like a charm! The only problem is it wasn't getting great signal when I had it in one of the back USB ports, but that's probably just my internet. I have all 5 bars of signal as of now, and it hasn't wavered since I first turned my computer on.
 
   I kept the mouse and keyboard the same because those are personal preference. You're computer will look exactly the same as mine on the outside if you get this, and I think it will be hilarious xD. I do realize I sort of forced the stuff I have onto you and you don't have to get them if you don't want to, I just put them in mostly because I guess you could count it as a review for each item . But the thing we've all been waiting for (only you because I know P) is the price. You want to know it? Here it is... $600! It sounds like a lot, but your build was $645, so this build was actually $45 dollars cheaper than yours. It should also outperform yours by a lot, and if you wait until it's too late to get the graphics card, it's only $80 on the website. That would make it $620, still $25 less than your build. I am pretty proud of this build, not going to lie. My computer is actually $808 including the same peripherals as you. The only differences from my build for you from my computer is the processor (which is in the same series), the ram (same ram, I just have more), the power supply (yours is better, but wattage only matters to a person who will be using the best of the best), and the graphics card (if our graphics card could date, mine would be way out of your league! No, but it's almost 2x as good as the one in my build for you).
   
   I hope you are satisfied with what I've come up with, I wouldn't have cared if you said thanks or not! It's actually fun for me to help people with computers, so this was just one of the things I do for fun . I honestly may have gone a bit overboard with how similar our computers are (haha), but that just means it should perform great!       Okay, now that I have that done, I'll move onto your new reply. I will be including what I put it the above post to help me compare with your new build.

   First of all, I'll start with the CPU. It would work fine, but the FX-6300 has 6 cores which means it will perform better in pretty much every way. Another good thing about the FX is that it's newer so therefore more reliable, and you don't need to have a custom cooler to cool it, it comes with a stock one .

   If you do happen to go with the FX (which I recommend because it's newer and more reliable), than you are going to need a motherboard better than the one you have on your build (also better because newer meaning more reliable). I'm not saying you have to go with what I say here, I'm just saying it will be a lot easier and it'll feel safer. Also, if you want to upgrade in the future, that would require you to get rid of the processor and the motherboard. It wouldn't be too fun taking all the wires, the graphics card, the CPU cooler, RAM, and the CPU just to screw in a different motherboard and put back in the wires, graphics card, RAM, and the new CPU with the new CPU cooler.

   The RAM should work fine, I have no complaints about it. As long as it's 2 sticks of 4GB on each and it's DDR3-1600 or above, it should be perfect.

   The graphics card you listed will work better than the ones I linked you and make sure you do the rebate thing so it's only $80 It is only better by about 25% so there isn't any huge difference, but since the price of each is only $20 away, I think you should be fine with it .
  
   I talked about the case above, and I have nothing else to say about it other than finding a cheaper case would probably be better for you anyway.

   I talked about your PSU too, and like I said up there, there's nothing I recommend you do differently about this.
   
   The optical drive is also something that I don't really have to talk about too much here. The one in my list is $20 and it's generally the same thing, so if saving $10 means something to you I'd say go with the one I put on my build .

   Last but definitely not least is the WiFi adapter. The one you have mentioned in your build is a pretty expensive $40 one. The one in my build is $20 and it's the one I am currently using so you should know that it works (full bars right now ). That's a $20 difference and I say you should take it.

    Again, I hope I'm not shoving my opinions down your throat too far as it's supposed to be your PC, not mine . I hope I have helped you even more with this post (I know I have helped at least a little considering this post is 1500+ words xD). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Peace .
