Once this round of Mafia ends, I will likely be going on a bit of a hiatus from Mafia (2-3 month break) and as there are no other games presently lined up for beyond January or so, I was curious as to what the denizens of Innocent Town would be interested in playing.

There are no wrong answers, as this is strictly an opinion.

One idea that has been pitched a lot to me recently is Murder Mystery.

I'm not opposed to the idea of a Murder Mystery happening at all, and given the right timing, I think it could even be wicked fun for a majority of the members of IT.

However, we are not all knowing (even though I am) and need your input before we decide whether to host that or a different game.

Any and all ideas are appreciated so long as they follow the following rules.

1. Cannot be illegal or against the rules of Vizzed.
2. Cannot be against the rule of stupid in Innocent Town.
3. Cannot be Mafia. Because I already host that and am putting that on hiatus following this round.

I'm up for a little Not D and D, if you want to bring that back temporarily.

I would totally be interested in seeing Murder Mystery come back. It looks like a lot of fun, especially with the right people.
Although I fee like you said somewhere that you didn't want to see it come back? Unsure on that but it's something i would totally be interested in. Besides that, I don't have anything else to offer to the table. For now, at least.

A lot of things have already been done, so there's not much left. The only thing I can think of is some sort of a forum war stragety/rpg game, where there's some kind of a map made that someone keeps track and users of one team are placed on different points and move based on rank, race, items, etc.

I'd been keeping this secret, but I planned on bringing NDND back at some point within the next two months, regardless. I doubt I'll do it this month (with the TDV being up) but it will be returning at some point in the future. I only closed it because of Vizzed Survivor and a lack of time for other games, but now that I'm hosting Mafia only at the moment, I see no reason why I wouldn't have the time to do the game.

The only thing is I forgot the old mathematic equation for the battles in thread, so I'd have to change that system up a bit.

In the past, I've said I didn't want it to return because I was hosting Mafia at the same time. We have a rule (in the FAQ) about Murder Mystery and Mafia. Because of the similarity of the games, to prevent confusion, we do not allow the games to be played at the same time. But since I'll be on hiatus for a few months in Mafia, Murder Mystery's window will theoretically be open.

Sounds like a plan then. I would also like to second bringing back Not D and D because it looks pretty great and I would be all about that even more than Murder Mystery.

I feel like Murder Mystery will kind of be a step down compared to Mafia. But it's simplicity may be fun with the right people if we can get a half decent RP aspect going.

I did enjoy VSKS quite a bit because of the roleplay added in with the competition.

Although I've never played it I have seen NDND in actiona nd it does seem like it would be fun. It has been mentioned already but I thought I'd throw it out there once more.

Part of me selfishly wonders if the people here would like to see me start a daily life blog that I'll update semi-regularly. This would not only encourage me to actually do something, but it would give the people here something more to comment on.

Plus, I have been reading a lot of my posts lately and realizing I was such an angry person two years ago.

I'm just going to pitch this idea, and if people like it, I may start a game...

Murder Mystery more or less gave me this idea, which is kind of the opposite of Murder Mystery.

In Murder Mystery, you try to deduce the "Murderer" through a series of clues. This is a fun concept, but i thought, what if the tables were turned, and instead of a group of people, there was only one person to solve the mystery?

This game would have a shorter play time than Mafia or Murder Mystery (both often take months to play, whereas this, feasibly, could be played in only one month, or maybe even less with active participation), and would be more apt to a sudden ending.

The rules and setting are simple.

1. The "murderer" from the past Murder Mystery game gets to be what I call the "Detective" in this game, win or lose.
2. People sign up to be AGAINST the "Detective".
3. The Host (me or pacman1755) assign an ultimate "murderer" among those who sign up to face the detective.
4. The goal of the game is simple. The detective must figure out who the murderer is in a specific amount of time. The detective cannot die at any time, and the only way for them to lose is for them to run out of time, accusations.
5. The detective is only allowed to accuse/arrest so many people. Once they surpass this pre-determined number, if they have not caught the murderer, they lose.
6. The goal of the players is to NOT let the Detective catch the murderer. Even if you aren't the murderer, you win if you successfully manage to avoid letting the Detective win.
7. The only rule the murderer must follow is the rule of 100% honesty. If there is doubt as to whether a response is allowed, they will contact the host of the game.
8. The Detective will be allowed to ask one question every 2-3 days (for a total of 10-15 questions per month/game)
9. The only player REQUIRED to answer is the murderer, via PM (at which point I will reveal their answer to the question). Anyone may answer via the thread, but they may be lying.
10. Once every X days (depending on players in the game), the detective may accuse/arrest a player. If the detective fails to catch the murderer, the detective forfeits their next question, and have to wait twice as long to ask their next question.
11. The questions asked by the detective must be approved by the host, as we cannot have specific questions, like "what letter does your username start with".

There are other minor rules I can flesh out, if the idea gains interest, and I've thought about a 2-3 person detective system, where none of the detectives know each other (and only one detective could end up the winner), but that might be too complicated for the average Vizzed user, and would take more time to co-ordinate.

Anyway, if you like this idea, let me know, and I'll get to work on drafting up basic rules.

That game idea sounds awesome! I do think it would be nice if the game would be a little faster, as sometimes it seems to take forever before anything happens... But this way, there are several ways to lose, making it a much faster game! 

Does the "Murderer" kill anyone? Or is he just a guy who killed someone, and the detective must sort him out of the group? Just a question about that...

It would be the latter. The murderer already killed the person (let's say they killed Leggy, just for continuity). The Detective has rounded up the 10-20 most suspicious people on Innocent Town/Leggy Land.

In this world, while murder is a crime, obstructing justice is not (as we are fans of orderly chaos), so the Detective doesn't necessarily win if they catch someone who was obstructing justice.

Basically, I conceived this game as a way to give the MM's Murderer a chance to have some fun with being on the other side of the fight, because with MM games so far apart and so long, it can be frustrating to not get a chance to show off the logical side of your brain.

The one concern with this game is that people will argue it focuses too much on the Detective, which is why I thought about making it a 2-3 Detective System, where the first to catch the Murderer wins.
