Obviously, most people already know of this game and have it because in the short amount of time that the game has been avaiable, it's popularity has skyrocketed. I have not actually played the game but I have seen the entire game played by Markiplier in his videos. I did not really see the fun of the game, but of course that's just because I wasn't actually playing. Though throughout most of the videos, Mark looked like he was having a heart attacked and lableled it as the scariest game in years.

I will admit that the game itself does look terrifying at times and has looks like it can be a great game. Who here has played it or is thinking about getting the game and what are your thoughts on the game? Was it worth the money, or viz? Was it up to your expectations?

I got Five Nights at Freddy's from a friend who said he was too scared to play it all the way through. It has a good concept that's implemented well. I never though I'd be scared of pizzeria mascots in all of my years, but this game has accomplished that. There's a good mix of ambiance and fear with an interesting, albeit unusual premise. It definitely superseded my expectations of being a lame Slender-esqe jump-scare based bore fest.

Boxia : What I really like from wathing the game, is that the fear does not come from playing the game itself, like most games. In most games, it's set for once you do something, something else happens that could terrify you, it's basically a chain of actions and reactions. But that's not the case with this game, with this one you don't actually get the fear from playing the game itself. 

With this game, the fear of the game comes from just watching everything unfold, you aren't actually doing anything. The fear comes from the anticpation that something bad is about to happen, while watching everything on the cameras.

This game has gotten really popular lately. This is the type of the game that you would like to see other people's reactions from when they get scared. Also, this game is somewhat of a survival type game within a time limit so a  mix of strategy, unpredictability, and suspense would keep you on your toes. At least that's how I see it.

Honestly the game isn't all that scary. There are a couple of jumpscares here and there, but once you know patterns and how to handle Pirate Cove, the game becomes less scary and more frustrating when something goes wrong with the plan.

It's about as scary as the Slenderman games to me. Jumpscares. Which I find to be weak, if that's your idea of horror.
