I pop out of cover too soon. I also am terrible at leading a target into a trap.  (This is in Stealth games like Batman Arkham Asylum, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, and Sniper: Ghost Warrior.)

In Minecraft, I tend to want a quick house, that then leads to terrible inside design. But, I also can't figure out an effective hidden entrance to work in my house.

My bad habit is collecting everything. Like, I want to get 100% in everything, so I end up collecting things that don't help me in reaching my goal. Examples are getting every Pokémon to level 100, the bananas in DK64, and so on. Then, I get bored with the game, so I stop playing it.

Also, I don't want to buy anything because I like money. I like saving up money. So, I don't buy anything.

Last but not least, I like to grind until everything becomes easy. It's bad, I know, but true.

While not something that I do as much anymore I used to have this bad habit of trying to be too much of a perfectionist.

What I mean is essentially soft resetting multiple times in Pokemon to get one with the exact nature, ability, gender etc. that I want or resetting several times in animal crossing to try and get as many of the villagers I want at the beginning. I used to do this so much before it could eventually lead to me burning out on a game before even having completed it, kind of ironic when you think about it.

Another thing that I've noticed that I try to do a lot in games is always go fast. Whether it's a 2d or 3d platformer, I always try to go as fast as possible, and never really put in enough time into some of the more difficult jumps. I've been doing a little better with it lately, though. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze won't be beaten with my speed skills, so I'm required to slow down and put in more effort.

With RPG's I'll tend to try and be the best in everything even though most of the time your character is meant to be focused on specific traits or a skill set. I'll over level so that the game is a breeze for me later on.

I usually try my best to keep it balanced but I get carried away sometimes.

Refraining from using my valuable items. I save them for an emergency...but then the emergency never comes, or I simply disregard them in an emergency.

An example of which is in Final Fantasy VII when I never use my Megalixirs 'cause they're valuable. Then when I really need a heal...I panic and  start mashing "Cure3".

My bad habit is: resetting the game when a character dies in a perma-death rule kind of game (Fire Emblem for example). Try to save as much as I can (Resident Evil 2 was not a great game for this habit). I used to click both L3 and R3 (Analogue sticks) when I'm sitting in a loading screen, causing annoyance from my friends. And look at guides to get the best ending for games, I really don't like getting bad ends and resetting a game maybe from the beginning so I tend to look at guides on how to get the best ending, which most of the time leads to spoilers.
