Hey guys. It has been a while ever since I made a review but now I got to make another one for my staff role. So this time, I decided to go into making a review of a random hack I find of any game in the RGR and I guess I'll review this game. Let's get started!

Intro: Pac-Man Remix? Is that a new song???

No, it is certainly not a song. Well, for what I'm reviewing at least. To simply explain it, this game is a hack for "Pac-Man (Tengen)" for the Nintendo NES, which can also be played on vizzed. There weren't really any drastic or amazing changes from the original, but it's still a somewhat worthwhile hack to try out if you like to play various pacman games. There were some new graphic/color changes, new maze, and even a new ghost! Which I will go into detail in the upcoming sections of the review. Let's go ahead and dive in!

Gameplay: 8

Well, what's the objective of the game? I'm probably going to be Mr. Obvious here and there in this review since everyone knows what Pacman is, but I have to say all necessary details to the best of my abilities whether they are obvious or not. Anyways, as you all know, you are pacman. (Obviously that little yellow/orange ball who can gobble up dots, just saying if you're somehow totally lost) What you need to do is to simply eat all of the dots in the maze and avoid all of the ghosts. You can also eat the big dots to be able to eat the ghosts for a short amount of time. Yeah, everyone knows this.

Now, let's start going into some less obvious details. So, I have mentioned earlier that there was a new ghost. His name is "Steel". He simply looks like a gray ghost. But now, where's the pink ghost, "Pinky"? Well, he's actually gone. He was replaced with "Steel". Now, why do I mention this in the gameplay section? Because, when you eat the big dot, all of the ghosts will turn blue so you can be able to eat them, all except "Steel". He's the only one who actually can NOT turn blue no matter what. Normally, in the original Pacman, when you eat the big dot, this is your moment where you are simply invincible. But in this game, not really since there is still one ghost left who can't turn blue. Quite tricky, right?

Well, there are even more things that are tricky. I was playing this Pacman hack, then I suddenly thought one of the ghosts were moving through the walls. I blinked my eyes several times quickly thinking that I'm seeing things. Then I saw it happen again after a short while. Later on, I realized that all of the ghosts can sometimes move through the walls. Not all of the walls though, only the walls on the left and right side of the maze. Could be a little hard to know exactly where since it isn't very easy to say in words, but you'll see what I mean if you try the game once.

The last thing to mention is the new maze. It is a bit different from the original. As you can see in the screenshots, there are more dead ends on the top of the maze, so, that area is a little risky since you can easily get trapped with just one ghost following you. That is about it for the gameplay. I'd say it's pretty decent since the maze and ghosts are tricky which makes things interesting.

Graphics: 8

Now, I'll start off with talking about the things that were changed from the original for the graphics. Firstly, the maze is completely light green instead of dark blue. The Dots are also green instead of yellow/orange. And Pinky, the pink ghost, has been replaced with "Steel", a gray ghost. A few minor things to point out is that the arrow for selecting "1 player" or "2 players" in the title screen got replaced with a little red ghost and the title, "Pacman Remix" also looks different for the original title. Most other things were left unchanged. Anyways, for an NES, I would say it is not bad at all. Though, for some users, the bright green maze and dots can possibly hurt their eyes after a while, but the original maze is dark blue so it isn't much of an eye sore. I wouldn't really say that it is better than original and it isn't really worse than original either. I guess I can just say that it is a change from the original to make the game feel more different. There isn't really much left to point out.

Sound: 7

The sound effects were not changed from the original. Anyways, at first, the sound effects are alright. They do sound like things you would want to hear. Like you would want to hear that dot munching sound effect while you play pacman. But slowly, after a while, like maybe after 10-30 minutes (can sometimes vary), the sound effect just simply starts to get annoying. You just get tired of continuously hearing that same high pitched sound as you play pacman. Though, you can just mute the game then listen to music or something and continue playing, but it might be harder to concentrate for some users if you listen to something else instead of the sound effects while playing pacman. Though, it can vary depending on the person or if you use earphones/headphones or a speaker.

Addictiveness: 8

Just like how the original pacman game can be addictive for some users, this can also be addictive too. It's very similar to the original but with some changes and for those who like trying out different pacman games, this might be addictive for you. It's normally fun to keep trying to go as far as possible in the levels. There is simply no other way to explain how this game can be addictive. You simply just want to finish a level, go on to the next, and so on. Pretty much addictive in the same way most other pacman games/hacks would be addictive.

Story: N/A

Well, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure on whether there is a story in this pacman hack or not. There are some very short cut-scenes once every few levels just like the original, but it's just not enough to know whether there really is a story or not. And the cut-scenes don't really have much meaning in it, but's it's entertaining to look at. I guess....

Depth: 7

This pacman hack doesn't really include any special options or stuff, but it does have an endless amount of levels like the original, however, the mazes are all the same, but the game does get more challenging as you go on. There is also a 2 player mode but it isn't that great. It simply just goes by individual turns. In other words, player 1 goes first, if he/she dies, it's player 2's turn and I think they compete based on score. There isn't really much to talk about since this game doesn't have a lot of "depth".

Difficulty: 9

Well, compared to the original, this game would certainly be more challenging. As you can see in the top of the maze in the screenshots, there are some dead ends, so, you can easily get caught by a ghost if a ghost is following you and you end up in that dead end. Also, on the right and left side of the maze, the ghosts can sometimes go through the walls. And one more thing that is quite annoying is that, when you eat the big dot, all of the ghosts turns blue except for the gray ghost, "steel". As you move on through the levels, the ghosts slowly get smarter, faster, and more aggressive. All of these characteristics that makes this game hard combined does give quite a challenge.

OVERALL: 8

Ahhh... Yep. Thats about it for the review guys. I hope you enjoyed the review. Do not hesitate to leave any feedback or comments for my reviews. Have fun on vizzed!

Well Really good review you went in to a lot of detail and I can tell you took your time on it like how everything flowed together on your review.

One thing I did not like though was how you basically already said your entire difficulty section in the gameplay section so it was kind of just like a repeat of what you already said.
