I like the Focus Band because you have a 10% chance of surviving a hit with 1 HP. I once in the 4th generation had it work 5 times in a row on the same Pokémon, and I barely won the fight because of that. For that, it is in my top 5, but not my favorite. Not really. I never got into the collecting aspect of Pokemon thus never really cared about that. My favorite item is actually the Life Orb because that +30% damage makes a huge difference in competitive games.

Eh, I haven't played with trick room teams that much, so no. I think the only time I did was with my mega camerupt team (the thing's a monster with eruption/earth power and other moves). I prefer fighting with the normal speed stats.

Leftovers are great! Not only does it look like a partially eaten apple core, but it is great to give to a Pokemon so they can regain HP during battle. I just wish it would work a little faster some times.

I don't use an escape rope all that often. I tend to buy like 2 after the first gym and that's usually enough to get me through the game. It's a good idea but if you know what you're doing then you don't need it.
