Mega Man Trigger is back to explore ruins and solve mysteries in this new adventure.

Story: 9
The story in Mega Man Legends was very good, it was much improved from the first Legends game. So here we go with the plot. It has been slightly over a year since the last events that occurred in Legends One. The Bonnes have decided to give up piracy and open a department store, but it fails so they go back to piracy. Barrel Casket's long time friend and former digging partner Von Bluecher has built a huge gigantic ship called the Sulpher Bottom. Bluecher wants to go back to Forbidden Island. The cut scenes in the game tell us it has been 30 years since him and Barrel went to that Island. Barrel's daughter and son in law were lost in that island trying to land on it due to the giant storms that surround the island. Bluecher calls a press conference much to Barrel's objection. Unknown to Bluecher and Barrel air pirates are disguised aboard the ship. Suddenly a strange girl resembling Barrel's daughter warns the diggers not to go to forbidden island because the Mother Load is a danger. The mother load is thought to be a huge treasure located on Forbidden Island. The strange girls shoots the Sulper Bottom causing it to crash on Forbidden Island. Mega Man Trigger and Roll Casket see the action on TV. They go to a city to get parts to build a ship to land on the Island. Eventually Mega Man lands on the island and rescues the Sulpher Bottom. However, he unearths Mistress Sara. Mistress Sara hints at getting the keys to the Mother Load to get the Master system to activate it. The mysterious girl reveals herself as Mistress Yuna the other Earth Watcher. Mega Man sets out to get the keys to the Mother Load. Just what was the disaster Mistress Yuna warned about and just what is this master system? Okay, now that was a long plot, but I kind of like long plots that are detailed. I left a lot of stuff out because that would be spoiling. The cut scenes also reveal other plots in this game. So yeah, this is a complex game with several plots in it. However, I really thought Capcom was getting creative in making this plot. There is suspense, mystery and action which all of those things make a good plot.

Graphics:10
The graphics in this game were very nicely done. The backgrounds are full of color. The snow falling in the Tundra is nice. The underground mines are also very good. Mega Man Legends had the best graphics of any Mega Man game made for the Play station. No matter where you go in this game the graphics will blow you away. The graphics also shine when Mega Man gets attacked and changes color to the attack. If he gets hit with gas he turns green, red if he gets hit by fire, and light blue if he gets hit with ice. The sprints in this game were also very nicely done. The robot enemies sprints in this game are very nice even when they attack you. The towns people look exactly like real people. The controls in this game are some of the smoothest controls I have played. Not one time in the game does Mega Man appear to be sluggish even while using a weapon. Capcom really made Legends 2 shine on graphics. In addition, there are also no major lags in this game. To sum it up, I give the graphics a perfect score it doesn't get much better than this.

Sound: 9
The sound in this game was also nicely done. This game has a lot of classical music. I find the classical tunes to be relaxing. If you are not in any combat the music is mostly relaxing. However there is a little bit of rock music in this game too. Some of the later zones have an upbeat tempo to them. Now if you are underground the music shifts to a slow gloomy tune, which fits the mines pretty well. Mega Man's weapons also sound great. The cannon and missile weapon sound like the real thing, which the player knows their attacks are doing damage. Moreover, the enemies also have great sound concerning their attacks. The voices in this game were greatly done. They do not sound squeaky at all. I did notice a small tingle in the game though. It occurs during the music to the desert island. However, it is not a huge tingle so its not too bad. Thus, I give the sound to this game a solid 9 out of 10.

Addictiveness: 9
This game in the legend series is my favorite. I really liked playing this game. There is just so much to do in this game. Not to mention you have the options of getting to play through the game again at a different difficulty level.

Depth: 10
Legends 2 really had a lot going on in it. I am not sure I have played a game with so much depth before. Legends 2 really shines in this category. First of all, the player will have to complete several missions in this game to get to the ruins, that hold the keys. But its is not just fighting the bad guys yeah there is plenty of that too, but the player will have to help other people out as well. This game also requires you to buy stuff to power up or get parts so Roll can develop weapons. While digging in the runs the player will need to find treasure chests. Lots of times they have money, notes and enhancements in them. In addition, the depth of this game is so huge that the player will have to revisit towns again and again to get all the items. Also when you explore a ruin or mine be prepared to explore it again and again. Some items cannot be got through the first pass. Moreover, they are a lot of secret areas the player will need to find. Now here is what adds more to the depth. Each time you beat this game you open up a new difficulty level. In fact, the game requires you to play through the game again to unlock all the difficulty levels: Easy, Normal (start the game with), Hard, and Extremely hard. Legends 2 had more depth than the first game. In the first game all of your items were found on Kattelox Island, so the player did not have to go to several islands to get items. This game you will have to go to several islands to get a complete score. Thus, due to all the depth I give Mega Man Legends 2 a perfect rating.

Difficulty: 8
I really had a hard time rating this game on difficulty because the game gives you several difficulty choices. On the other hand, you have to beat the game on normal and then beat it on hard to unlock all the levels. To analysis the difficulty in this game I will be using the normal (default) level. This game can be challenging. So many times it is easy to go on a mission in this game and not be fully ready. The game does not give you a hint at what weapons and power ups you need to tackle a mission. Different ruins have different enemy placement. Some of the runs have a lot of enemy placement. In some of the ruins you can get cornered, hit from behind and deal with powerful enemies. Some of the enemies in the game are very powerful. Powerful enemies require skill and a little bit of luck to beat. In addition, to the enemies the items can be hard to get. Getting all the items will require creativity to get as well as revisiting ruins. So many times I have had to revisit a ruin just to get a certain item. Now the pirates in this game are not too bad they can be frustrating that is for sure but they did not really give me much trouble in this game. Now I first said I had a hard time rating this game's difficulty. Here is the thing the difficulty varies depending on your level. Normal difficulty has good difficulty. Hard is not really too bad but enemies hurt more and are more numerous it probably gets a 9. If you are playing the extremely hard mode than that would be a 10. If you play on easy mode than the difficulty is probably moderate. I also considered once you get the hang of the game and certain weapons the game becomes less difficulty until the very end. The bad thing is you do not get the most powerful weapons until the middle parts or later parts of the game.

Overall: 9.5
I really liked this game. I can remember being excited when I got this game for Christmas. I played it the next day and I have to say this is one of my favorite Play Station games. I like the graphics and sound in this game. I also like the depth in this game. I often play this game on all the difficulty levels because it is so much fun. The characters are pretty good too and they really add to the plot of the game. I also got the first Legends game when it came out. I liked Legends One but this one really is so much better and it is due to the things that I mentioned above. Legends 2 was a great game that I will argue is under ratted. Legends 2 came out when the first play station was starting to decline. In 2001/2002 the Play Station Two came out so a lot of games started to be made for that. I think that hurt Legends 2. Now, another thing is this really is not a Mega Man game. There is no Dr. Wily or references to him in this game. Proto Man, X, Zero or Sigma are not present in this game at all. Also Roll and Mega Man are not brother and sister like they were in the classical series. Some have argued that they should not have put Mega Man in the title and let the character been known as trigger. I think that might have hurt this series. Most people when they think of Mega Man they think of Dr. Wily, Proto Man, Roll, Bass, Treble, X, Zero and Sigma. However, that is really the only negative thing about this game or series. I enjoyed this game and the series. As far as recommending this game. By all means I recommend this game. It is one of my favorites and it is a fun game to play. So check this game out and play it you will have a good time playing Mega Man Legends Two.
