Mega Man returns for a 6th adventure. Mega Man 6 was the last title for the regular Nintendo Entertainment System and one of the last games for that system.

Overall: 8.2
Mega Man 6 is a good game. However it seems like it took a step back from its precursors such as Mega Man 3,4 and 5. The graphics at times seem to lag and be sluggish. The music is okay but not as good as the past thee Mega Man games. The plot is okay. However, it seems like this game was rushed and quickly put together in some spots. I think Mega Man 6 is a good game but just not as good as the past three Mega Man games. Still, I would recommend this game.

Graphics: 8
The graphics are decent. Blizzard Man's stage is nicely done especially with the moving submarine. The way the sunset changes in Tomahawk Man's stage is really good. Yamoato's man graphics are done well. The first fortress stage is nice with the stars and moon in the background. However it sometimes seems like the graphics lag in some parts of the game. In Plant Man's stage it seems like the game wants to slow down. Sometimes it feels like the controls are sluggish. Centaur Man's stage also gives that effect. It seems like some parts of the game the controls were rushed and that is why they are sluggish. In some stages it also looks like how the graphics were not finished. The graphics were okay but not on par with Mega Man 5's or even 3's.

Sound: 7
Well Mega Man 5 had rocking tunes so I was hoping 6 would too. Some of the tunes stand out. Knight Man's Yamato Man's, Tomahawk mans and the first Fortress stage really have good tunes. But some of the stage tunes seem to be lagging and they kind of had a tingle like they were quickly composed. Mega Man 5 had a cool buster sound that let the player know it was going to do some damage. The buster sound in Mega Man 6 has been toned down a lot. The Buster despite still being a big blast does not have the sound that gives the impression it is powerful. Also I expected a much better sound with the Rush power adapter it just seems fain for a powerful fist.

Addictiveness: 7
Okay I have played this game several times. But it is usually after I have played 3, 4 and 5 first. So why it is a good game it does not have the replay value that its precursors had. I still have fun playing it though. I guess I like the other titles better.

Story: 7
The story is not bad. From the start of the game the player learns that a guy by the name of Mister X is hosting a robot tournament. Suddenly Mister X takes control tells Mega Man that he has been supplying Dr. Wily and manipulating him and dares Mega Man to come and stop him for world power. Sounds like a good plot and do not get me wrong it did have some potential. However it is obvious from the get go that Mister X is really none other than Dr. Wily. Capcom even tells the player that from the start because most people notice how Mister X looks like Dr. Wily. Capcom should have made Mister X look different than Wily. I feel like Capcom giving away that it is Wily bumps the rating down. Also the past two Mega Man games (4 and 5) used a fake bad guy. So it seems like they were using the same material. So the Story was a good idea and had potential but they should have not gave Mister X's true identity away. Probably because the game was rushed.

Depth:8
Depth is were Mega Man 6 shines. The game does have a lot of depth. The player will have to defeat 4 true bosses to get the letters to use BEAT. Yes you read that right they are 4 robot master stage that has a fake boss in it. There is also a hidden item secret that can be obtained but it is well hidden. Because of the true bosses, the beat letters, and the secret item Mega Man 6 will require the player to revisit stages. It also will require time to get all items. So the Depth of Mega Man 6 is one of its strengths. Capcom did very well here on hiding the items

Difficulty: 7
Mega Man 6 does have some tricky areas but it takes a while for the game to get tricky. For me the game did not get tricky until the fortress stages. The Robot masters at first may be tricky but once the player learns their AI pattern they can be taken down quickly. So getting through the robot masters was not as difficult as in Mega Man 2, 3, 4 and 5. I found the game did not get tricky to the end which really surprised me. Mega Man games are known to be difficult and I was expecting this one to be. However as I stated the game did not get tricky till the last few stages of the Fortress. The fortress levels are tricky and that is what keeps me from giving this a lower difficulty rating.

I found this to be a really great review. So kudos to you. Nice wording, grammar, and plenty of details. I liked how it was easy to understand and read even though I never played the game before. Plenty of good and bad things about the games. By pointing out the highlights and lows of the game. Only think I would say is be careful not to reveal too much. Now I never played the game so I honestly couldn't tell you how much you revealed or didn't. Just pointing out that there is a possibility that you might have. But great job and I will be sure to look out for future reviews to read.
