Chapter
Five: Shao Kahn

        “So, there you have it,” concluded the
old woman. “That’s the tale. You will need some pointers, however. You honestly
don’t know what – I mean, who – you’re up against.” NintendoFanKimmy and
greenluigi eagerly leaned in closer. “We’re all ears!” Their hostess continued.
“Yes, it’s not a ‘what’, anymore. It’s a ‘who’. Ever since it’s developed a
mind of its own, that is. It’s several ‘who’s, actually. It divided itself into
many parts locked within various famous ‘video game’ antagonists. As I’ve said
before, these villains that reside in our world weren’t supposed to be living.
They were originally stimulated so that you Vizzed users and other video game
protagonists, or good guys, could test their skills. You guys, of course, are
noble, and deserve to feel and think, which is why you do. The many parts of
the XZH – Xavier Zoey Hailey – hack are scattered around the Electronic World,
which is where we live. The villains these pieces are locked within are random,
so it’s best if you defeat them all. Even if they hold nothing inside, each bad
guy is a threat to our world. Even the antagonists with parts of the hack
inside them don’t think the same way as that piece. They are the exact same
people they appeared to be before, except, they actually mean it, being living.
The pieces of XZH do not influence the behavior of their home villains; they
simply use them as a shelter. And that is why you must track down these bad
guys and dispose of them.” Then, the two guests looked at each other. Both of
them were grateful for the information their temporary hostess provided, yet
they were upset at their heavy destinies. The old lady still had one more
valuable thing to point out. “Young ones… XZH, with its cruel and destructive nature,
seeks out the villains with each individual’s weakness and pits them together.
Beware.” NintendoFanKimmy thought. If that happened, she would be up against a swordfighter
or wrestler-type bad guy for sure. She was more of a Pokémon Trainer. Even
though she didn’t have any, anyone who was willing to lend her one gave her a couple
of Pokémon to train and battle with for a little while. She was an expert.
Greenluigi, on the other hand, was the opposite. He wasn’t a bad Pokémon Trainer,
but he couldn’t deal with their elemental powers themselves. He was more of a
direct combat person, unlike NintendoFanKimmy. So, if greenluigi was pitted
against someone, it would be a Pokémon Trainer or someone with the power to
control the elements. Then, the woman chuckled. The cousins looked at her. “What’s
so funny?” Then, she laughed even harder. What happened next was so sudden and
frightening, Kimmy and green nearly jumped out of their skins. “Yikes!” yelled
greenluigi, astounded. “You’re a guy?” The ‘woman’, holding ‘her’ old lady mask
nodded. His real face was partially covered by a skull mask, but it wasn’t an
old lady, that’s for sure. His voice grew deeper and he began to laugh even
louder. Then, he ripped off his entire costume, revealing his true identity. “Oh,
my God!” shouted green, scared. “It’s Shao Kahn from Mortal Kombat! I- I can’t
do this! I’ve heard he’s a master of some element! What is that element, Kimmy?
Quick, you’re the wiz, here, aren’t you?” Kimmy stood her ground. “Black magic.”
Then, Shao let out a ‘roar’ and laughed maniacally. “Every single thing I told
you was real, by the way! I swear to Xavier, Zoey, and Hailey it’s true! And I
told you all that because it would be more fun killing you when you know how
epically you would fail the ones counting on you!” Kimmy and green did not feel
a single sense of guilt. They weren’t finished – yet. In fact, Shao Kahn didn’t
even land a single scratch on either of them. Greenluigi chickened out and hid
behind his cousin. This was his weakness, after all. Kimmy would have had the
advantage if only she had a Pokémon by her side. “Dang it!” she thought. “If
only I had a Bug-, Fighting-, or Fairy Type. Frankly, even any Pokémon at all!”
Then, she heard a familiar voice call out to her from behind. “Yo, Kimmy!” he
yelled. Kimmy turned around, stunned. “Oh, my God! User!” A user of this
nodded. “Use this!” He tossed a Pokéball over to NintendoFanKimmy. Both she and
greenluigi, continuously running backwards away from Shao, were scared. She
popped open the Pokéball and out came the Eevee. “An Eevee?! I must say, I’d
hoped for better!” User was also running in the same direction as his friends,
but he was further away from Shao Kahn. “It only needs one more affection heart
to evolve into Sylveon! Give it a pat on the head as you run!” Kimmy was
confused. “What type is Sylveon?” she demanded. “Just do it for Vizzed’s sake!”
Kimmy gave it a pat on the head and then, it started to glow. “Whoa!” She,
green, and User, still dashing for their lives, temporarily looked away from the
blinding light. Then, Eevee evolved into Sylveon. “Whoa,” exclaimed
NintendoFanKimmy. “You’re a lot bigger, now! And, you’re a Fairy Type! Beating
this guy will be a piece of cake!” Sylveon looked into Kimmy’s eyes with a ‘c’mon,
already!’ face. It was waiting for orders. “O-oh! Right! Use Moon Blast!”
Sylveon nodded and faced Shao Kahn. “Sylve… On!” A grand explosion took place,
and everyone’s hair was blowing in their faces. They put their arms in front of
their faces, and dust and leaves, and pieces of debris were sent flying
everywhere. Sylveon, though, used Light Screen as a barrier, sheltering the three
people from harm. When the explosion was over, it dropped the shield, nuzzled
Kimmy, and hopped onto User’s shoulder. “Nice going, there, Kimmy!” remarked A
user of this. Kimmy thanked him. “But what are you doing here? How did you know
we were here?” User walked over to them. “I didn’t. I was just as surprised
when I noticed you guys being attacked as when you guys saw me.” Greenluigi
asked, “Okay, okay, but what are you doing here?” A user of this smirked. “What
are you guys doing here?” Then, for a full moment, there was an awkward
silence. “We’re looking for XZH,” Kimmy and green said in unison. A user of
this was confused. “What’s that? I was just looking for the hack.” Kimmy sat
User down. “XZH is the hack. But it’s hidden among different bad guys – you know
what? Let me explain.” Then, Kimmy and green relayed the words of Shao Kahn as
an ‘old lady’ to their friend and savior. “Whoa. Good luck to both of you.”
Green said, “Why? Aren’t you coming with us? You’re chasing the same goal, aren’t
you?” User nodded. “Yeah, but it’s better if we split up. We’ll cover more ground
that way. Goodbye. See you guys again.” Then, Kimmy looked at them. “Or not.”
Then, they all laughed and said their perhaps final farewells. With A user of
this heading east, and NintendoFanKimmy and greenluigi heading west, both sides
were assured that if they failed, there was still hope.
