This game was also a game I had played in my childhood. It was my first experience of sandbox games, and it was a pretty darn good example.

Graphics: 10/10

A Play Station 2 game ought to have good graphics, so no complaining there. Regarding graphics, no problem...all very smooth. Character actions do not get glitchy, The graphics make it easy to distinguish between items and such...not really many imperfections. However, there is not much brightness to the graphics. It seems that there is always the drab brownish green color, or just a murky feeling overall. There are no visible pinks, reds, not really anything besides the flashing of the police sirens themselves. The graphics however, can easily compare with the early versions of Grand Theft Auto (the 3D versions, not the birds-eye view).

Sound: 6/10

The music for this game is just like the color scheming for the game itself...drab. The same soundtracks I played over and over. However, it really isn't much of a noticeable piece of music anyways, which I guess if you are looking for some good music, then this game is not for you. The music is very monotone, with some "high" parts to it, such as some rolling parts in the music here and there. However, Sound gets a low score because of the lack of basically any good sound. All you are are your bullets, shouts, police sirens, and some faint music in the back round.

Addictiveness: 7/10

This game is certainly no Grand Theft Auto V, and not even IV either, so it will not be as addicting as those games. However, Driver 3 provides a lot of "empty" freedom. You can't actively rob a bank, but Driver 3 focuses more on automobiles than overall "being bad" type of style. many of the missions you partake in involve cars, like escorting cars from point A to point B, etc. The only thing really pulling you into this game are the missions, Yes, as I stated, it is a sandbox game, so you do have some freedom, but there is not much to do with that freedom. The story line provides a little back-up to the addictiveness of this game, because it does hook the player in a little, trying to find out what is going to happen next. If you are like me when i was young, you will keep coming back to this game purely out of joy that you can do all sorts of crazy things, like jumping off high structures, ramming into police cars, running people over, stealing cars, etc. (I was not exposed to Grand Theft Auto just yet, so this was my Grand Theft Auto of that time)

Story: 7/10

The story is quite solid. Seeing how the name of the game involves a term that you would familiarize cars with, that is basically what most missions will involve...cars. Your job is to escort cars from different places, and one mission I remember in particular was stealing three cars and move them into a moving truck. You had to get all three cars in before the truck reached a certain place. Overall, the story is not bland, but just consistent. Cars, crime, guns, and more cars. Regarding difficulty in these missions however, they are very inconsistent, and may bug the player later on in the game when s/he gets too many hard missions, then one easy mission to end it out.

Depth: 8/10

Depth is really important to games...it's really the foundation. In Driver 3, the depth of the game is very much so adequate, and nicely done too. The missions are usually all different from each other regarding what you have to do. The maps in my opinion are actually quite small, yet there are three different maps you can play in anyways. Also, there is a cool little "quest" where you find and kill Timmies. Timmy Vermicelli is a man that you have to find in each of the cities you play in. He is just a little better than the average joe...he has a gun on him as well, and will shoot you to death if you don't kill him first. Nice little "quest" to go and find all the hidden Timmies. Of course, there will also be secret cars as well. However, regarding the freedom a player has in this game, you can basically drive around, shoot people, get chased by the cops, steal cars, and do missions. There aren't  many houses you can really enter besides the houses you spawn in, and some hidden areas. Regarding graphics, everything is fine, the depth in graphics is a-okay. There is not a lot of detail to make it really realistic, however, it is realistic all the same. The music is definitely something that the makers did not go fully into depth with. However, the overall fun factor game is pretty fun. Pig out, do some crazy stunts, dares and bets, you name it, it still is here.

Difficulty: 8/10

The difficulty in this game isn't always so hard. However, there are certain missions that really take the cake for difficulty. The mission I stated earlier, about the three cars on a moving truck...that was definitely difficult. It was hard creating road blocks to stop the truck, run to the areas with the specified car, steal that car while losing the cops, put it on the hopefully immobile truck (you put a roadblock on it, so you would expect it to stop, like any usual car would in a sandbox game, yet it plows on through with no care), then grab the other car and move it on the truck, and etc. I feel this kind of makes the game very inconsistent at times...there are easy missions like killing certain people, and then there are missions that are just too hard and take you hours to complete. Of course, the missions and how many you have completed determine what map you can go to. Some maps are easier than the others, while some just have such an annoying police force.

Overall, my impressions on this game was that it was a fun play. I enjoyed my time playing it, and for a few weeks, I kept looking forward to playing it. If you have friends play with you (taking turns, no online), you will all have fun betting and daring each other on what you can do in the game.
The feel of this game really doesn't draw you to do the missions as much as free play. However, if you do missions with friends, you will both be immersed, I can tell you that much.

Sidewinder : Another nice review you made here, it got quite a bit of words (1,111 words [lol, I like that number, 1111]) and you make it look all clearer and I like it, keep up the good work with these.
