I'm married and my wife and I cook our meals 6 out of 7 days.  We'll go out once a week, maybe with friends to a bar, maybe just the two of us, or we may stop in her parents' house for a dinner every so often.  You can control what you eat and the calories and ingredients when you cook your own food, you save money, and it's enjoyable.  I'm the cook in the household but my wife can make some things.  She does the shopping, I do the cooking, and we call it even.

Bars are also expensive and whenever I got out I get a beer or two.  Cooking at home keeps money in the house and keeps me from getting too fat from drinking.  My liver probably thanks me as well.

Hm... I cook about half the time because the other half, my wife "dismisses" me from the kitchen while she makes dinner for all. I'm good, but compared to my wife, I can't nor will I compare to her. 

But hey, I can't get mad because she's my wife and I love her.

I cook all the time.  I'm a stay at home father who cooks lunch and dinner for my wife and twin boys most days.  My wife does breakfast most of the time, but the other meals almost always fall to me (And I don't mind, I'm the better cook!) I will usually cook two to three days in a row, then we will have a "Potluck" day where we work on leftovers.  We only eat out two or three times a month.

About half of what I cook comes with its own instructions (Hamburger Helper, Frozen Pizza, Skillet Meals, etc) and the other half I cook from scratch (I've been told that I make a really good meatloaf and lasagna, and my homemade chicken pot pies are second to none!)

And the best part of all of it is that my sons are almost old enough that I can start getting them to help!
