Jordanv78 : That's why I said that even if you're assigned to a team's schedule, you'd be able to pick any team for your match ups. It definitely wouldn't be fair for 1 person to be assigned to the best team and another to be assigned to the worst team.

Tecmobowl.org probably wouldn't like to see a tournament advertised that is being hosted on another site, they seem to like to have the tournaments hosted on their own site.

Davideo7 : I wasn't sure regarding their stance, I just threw that out there because I know I see them advertising for tournaments that are hosted at Bars and other venues. Wasn't sure what their stance is on other websites but I thought I would just throw that out there because you know people that frequent that site enjoy the game.

Jordanv78 : I just hope that the Tecmo Super Bowl videos that get posted to the vizzed YouTube account draw in traffic to the site that is interested in the game and hopefully some of those people eventually join a Tecmo Super Bowl tournament.

Davideo7 : That's true. Maybe you can make a thread before the season asking how many people would be interested in taking this seriously and willing to use any team available. I'm sure there's SOMEONE out there who's willing to use the Jaguars or Buccaneers. Maybe a 200K Viz prize for winning the Super Bowl will keep people active to win the tournament. I'd try and bait people who use the RGR often to play it for a chance to win, but I wouldn't know how you could do that.

I understand the CPU dilemma now that you mention it, and maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea. If it can't work, then just continue the format you normally use. If it does work out, It'll probably be more work for you, since you have to know which user controls which team, and when any user is on bye.

The only thing I could suggest is making users sign a pledge saying that the promise to stay active, and risk facing a penalty if more than 2 games are missed during the season (obviously irl comes first and sometimes people may genuinely be too busy). Missing a couple of games would be understandable, but more than 2 means they aren't active enough to actually participate in the tournament.

Jordanv78 : True. People probably don't want to use the bad teams, but I'm sure SOMEONE out there would be willing to use a bad team. Besides, a skilled could make even the Jacksonville Jaguars finish the season 16=0=0. And someone with no skill could make a team like the Denver Broncos finish in last place. The team may be good or bad, but the player is the one who dictates how good a team is.

As for getting people on tecmobowl.org, how would you go about doing that? Is it like a forum or something where you can get people to play each other on Vizzed?

megamanmaniac : Although I understand what you are saying to some extent, I disagree. I like trying out new teams and in last years game I played AT LEAST one game using every team. This years game I have used most of them.

Unless you are playing someone whom is not very good at the game at all (which would point towards them not being big fans of the game in the first place and less likely to be in a big tournament like this) there are teams that are at a HUGE disadvantage. It's not like all the teams are on even playing ground.

megamanmaniac : Jordanv78 and myself will do a test to show you just how unfair it'd be if someone had a team like the Texans compared to a team like the Jets. Jordan and myself are probably about evenly skilled at Tecmo Super Bowl with him being slightly better than me so I'll take the Texans and he'll play as the Jets.

You don't have to demonstrate. I get your point. I just thought it would be a good idea. Now I see it's flaws. Finding 32 people is hard enough, let alone getting 32 for each team. It doesn't sound like it'll work, now that I think about it.

I would also like to point out that I have the second highest points for and near the lowest points against. Although I have had some back luck in the turnover department in a few games, I'm happy with the way I'm playing overall.

There is no doubt room for improvement though.

I guess the big target is on me LOL, I am now  8-0 including preseason, and have never allowed more then 14 pts in any of games!

I'm surprised that I am still in second place in my division, though I should have gotten one more win, only to have that taken away from me because my opponent's recording didn't work. I'm still in this and I gotta get some wins from now on.

As the addage goes, you can't win if you don't win the turnover battle.  After tonight's win (which moves me to 5-1-0), my one loss was a blowout to Jordan where I turned the ball over I think it was six times.
