Controls are not Fully Functional for Metal Gear 2 M.S.X.
No Codec Button. No Weapon Button. No Item Use Button. No Inventory Button. No save state button either. (The game takes at good 6 hours to complete.)

I was going to do a Photo Tip Guide for this site. (And to kill time.)
The only buttons that work are directional moves and the punch button.
No Codec button.
No Weapon Button.
No Item Use Button.
No Inventory Button.

No Button Reassign Option.
No Save State Button.
No Load Saved State Button.

(The save state option is a must for this one. The thing is a good 7 hours bare minimum.)

The Game is not in English and it is one of the most difficult games I have ever played. Though I do not expect anyone to alter and translate the code on that. (Might be asking too much.)
(A Photo list with Translation Captions would have been a fun side for me project too. Come to think of it.)
I have a copy of this game and the first already on my "360 Metal Gear H.D. set"
It does me no problems to not have the game not working on this site.
But
This game is Impossible. (In a game discussion I typed the day before.)
The game is hard to play without a guide handy. "As Is".
The game might get more play if people could operate the thing as easily as the other titles in this place.
Just a thought.
Thanks in advance.
Good Luck.
Peace.

orionfoxgibson : I'll have to look into the control issues. And let you know. It's probably an emulation issue.

I noticed you said something about it being in Japanese. I did notice an english translation of that game found here: https://www.vizzed.com/play/metal-gear-2-solid-snake-(english-translation)-msx2-online-msx-2-64875-game

You can mess around with the control scheme by clicking "esc" and looking up what the controls are supposed to be using Google. Maybe messing around with that you can find something that works.

Unfortunately, the "MESS" emulator that we use to emulate the old PC's as well as Atari do not currently support save states on Vizzed. Sad, but true. Not sure if the in-game save function works or not (if it even exists for that game)

Jordanv78 :
Thanks for the input.

No save states?

For guys like me that can only stomach two hours tops of the classics?

This could be an interesting project for a later date. (Once October comes around it will either end or get put on hold.)

I'll look into the original controls on google tomorrow and see what I can find.

Hope I do not have to keep the thing running on a separate channel for the thing to keep the progress info. (Like leaving the thing on at the "game over or continue" screen.)

I'd hate to run the risk of burning up a good copy of a popular item.
Give me another notification message if that would be a problem.
Thanks again.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.
