This is an excellent remake of Pokémon green, it is a lot better and features great graphics and it is an excellent game to play and will leave you with several hours of fun gameplay, It is a much better remake to the Pokémon green game released in Japan alongside of red in 1996. It is enhanced with so many better features, the gameplay is still the same as always, you become a trainer and the master of Pokémon, very simple. This game also adds a lot of extra new features like new Pokémon and new places that weren't originally in Pokémon green that I think are very enjoyable now to the review!
Graphics: 9
The graphics in this game are a big step up from green. They are very clear and they look nice. I think that these graphics are pretty basic for Pokémon games though. The graphics are pretty decent and they are really well made and it is clearly shown that a lot of effort was put into making them which is what makes them so fun and enjoyable to play. Previous generations like Pokémon blue, yellow and green had graphics that were blurry and you could literally count all the pixels on the screen and things were hard to see, Pokémon were fuzzy and there was really little that you could make out and these graphics are definitely a step up from that and they really bring the graphics to a whole new breathtaking level, everything is colorful, clear and invites you to a much better setup and enjoyable gameplay. There is so much effort and dedication put into these graphics that make them so good and they are very well done. I scored the graphics a 9 because they have improved greatly from prior generations and they are very welcoming and clear. So for the time these graphics came out, they were amazing and a big jump from the ones in previous Pokémon games and I still think they are very good.
Sound: 8
Come on now, the sound and music from these Pokémon games are classic, you just grow used to them. Sometimes they can be a little repetitive and maybe even annoying but each town offers little music for you to enjoy and I think that is what counts in the game, and it would be boring if there was no music to travel with or no sound when you are in an epic battle, so I think that the sound is an important part in the game which leads me into scoring it an 8 because the sounds and music is just unforgettable. I think the sounds are another very important part to the game because they get you into the mood to play and Pokémon music in particular really sets up for a good gaming mood and experience. The good sound to a game combined with good graphics are not really required by all games but they make up an awesome extra into making Pokémon leafgreen and all Pokémon games in general so awesome and fun to play.
Addictiveness: 10
All Pokémon games are addicting, the training, the leveling up, all of it is what makes it an addicting Pokémon game. They are some of the most addicting games out there and you will want to play them over again because they are fun, challenging games and they offer so much with all of the new material. All addicting Pokémon games come from a variety of things, good Pokémon, the training and the length and story of the game. After a few minutes of playing this game and getting acquainted with things, you start to lose track of the time and you become absorbed in its awesome gameplay. not all Pokémon games are exactly the same because some offer different Pokémon, places and characters. But altogether Pokémon games are very addictive and they are the kind of games that are fun for the first time and will make you want to play it again which is why I scored them a 10.
Story: 7
The main story for most Pokémon games start you out as a young trainer and you train to be a master of Pokémon and become the best. There are so many challenges that come in your way, your rivals, the gym leaders and then the elite 4 to become the champion and be the best. The message given through these games are all the same, they inspire you to be the best and make you work hard into achieving that goal and to not stop until you get it. I scored the story a 7 because of the message constantly being given and picked up from these games and make it a good game.
Depth: 10
This game has many things for you to do, from training your Pokémon and leveling them up to completing the pokedex by collecting all of the Pokémon and beating gyms and eventually the elite 4. These games leave you with hours of fun and they aren't the kind of games that you just beat and complete in a matter of a few hours in 1 day. These games leave you with lots to do and a good player takes the time to take everything into account and take it all in to training your Pokémon to their fullest potential and succeeding, and to do that takes time and effort which is exactly what you can be promised to get out of theses games. I scored them a 10 because they bring out the trainer in you with all of the stuff you can do in the game, it is a game that will leave you with lots to do and many hours of fun every time you play.
Difficulty: 4
The difficulty all depends on the way you play the game, if you just take your Pokémon from the start and do the minimal amount of training just to get by, then it probably isn't very difficult for you and you intend to train seriously to get what you want. But then there are some who train extra hard to level up their Pokémon to the very fullest and they get into detail with EV training and gaining effort values from the Pokémon they go against. They level up their Pokémon seriously and they are always looking for the perfect nature and treat everything with great care and they train their Pokémon with great skill and effort backed up with a strategy on everything in the game. it really all depends on the type of Pokémon gamer you are and how you treat the game and how you train your Pokémon that will determine how hard or challenging the game will be. I scored the game a 4 based on how I took it,I play the game with EV training and it pays off in the end because my Pokémon are strong and prepared from all of the hard training I put in to their moves and abilities. The game itself is not extremely challenging and shouldn't be a game that takes weeks to beat from difficulty, it is meant to be enjoyed and taken at a pace where you can take everything in and have fun.
Overall: 10
This game is a great play and also a great remake of the original Pokémon green game. It is fun, offers lots of challenges and lots to do, it is a fun experience for Pokémon fans out there and Pokémon games are just memorable and fun to play, I recommend playing this game because of all of the hours of fun you will be left with when playing it, it is just a great game that really brings out the best in you to be the best. i enjoyed playing this game and I think that this is the game for any Pokémon fans out there.I had no hesitation in scoring this game a 10, it deserved it and I think that this game is one to enjoy from its great improvements in the graphics, game play and all of the extra stuff put in to make it such an excellent game. I recommend this game to Pokémon fans out there and I hope that they can enjoy it!
