Hello, I just started to playing Pokémon HeartGold, I had a long brake. And now I'm ready to become the new Pokémon champion! D
I have tried many Pokémon's and strategies and always been able to collect all badge's and even beated  the elite four. So I want you to tell me what Pokémon's will be good for the league, be cause I'm so tired to collect all 34056968 Pokémon's.... I was planning to only raise about 6-10... But I can't make up my mind. What did you use when you defeated all Elite four and Lance? Or what your going to use next time you go there?? Down there I wrote all their Pokémon's, their levels, types, weaknesses and resistances so It would be easier to think the whole 6 Pokémon set, that will rise to claim their price as the new champions in the hall of fame.

Cactuar : I don't know if it's a good team, but I used the following team in Heart Gold.

-Meganium as starter. I know feraligatr is the best for the E4 but Meganium's way tougher then he looks!

-Furret as Second pokemon. Alright, before people start hating on poor Furret, it is really good. It has a HUGE move pool and is really fast. Good attack as well. I use my Furret more as a -in yer face- pokemon. Just troll and own your opponent.

-Crobat as flying pokemon. Crobat's a fast and hard hitter that can deal some good dammage, even though it might not be super effective. And oh yeah? Did I mention it's fast? Like real fast?

-Umbreon as dark and eeveelution. Umbreon's a wall, in both special and physical defence. Although it's Spec. Defence is slightly higher. It's a great toxic, double team, payback and some other move pokemon.

-Kingdra as water and dragon pokemon. Kingdra is really good in both physical and special stats. Me I prefer a specially based kingdra but maybe that's just me. Learns good moves and is pretty fast. A hard hitter, that's for sure.

-Last but not least Donphan as ground pokemon. Yes I know, phanpy doesn't learn any good moves by level up, but donphan learns earthquake, magnitude, thunder fang and fire fang. And by move tutor I'm pretty sure it can learn seed bomb and ice shard, wich that last one is good for Lance.

That's the team I used and it breezed through the E4 and Lance. You can counter any type with it and the pokemon are just matching up each others weaknesses. Only Ice could be a problem I believe, but you're save from Ice in the elite four.

Hope it helped!

In my last game I did use Crobat and Umbreon in league and they are really good Never really tried Furret, but I guess he can be really good if you train him hard. I have always wanted to try Kingdra, but I need to find someone who has DS so I can trade it. Donphan is quite useless against Lance, be cause there is so much flying Pokémon's... Aaaand Meganium is out of option be cause I  chose Cyndaquil. But thanks for the tips.

I have some tips too!

Always have a variation of types from Pokémon, so you can defeat Pokémons with a Super Effective hit!

A good team:
Feraligatr - Ampharos - Magmortar (You need a Magmarizer) - Dragonite - Muk - Weavile (You need a Razor Claw)

Learning good TM's to your Pokémon is great, with stonger moves the Pokémons are stronger!
And like always training at strong place like Victory Road can help to train your Pokémon!

That's all!

My tip for the elite 4 would be to try and get your whole team to level 45 that's what I did and I won on my first go.
