   So,

I have an old PC controller that really sucks, and doesn't even work. So

I've been thinking of getting some kind of Gamecube or even a Wii U Pro

controller, since I love the design of it. And I do know that the GameCube would

need some kind of USB thing to make it work, but it could be worth it. And I

also saw that the Wii U Pro can be used on a PC. But one of the problems would

be I don't want to buy one, and figure out that I can't get the

analogue stick to work as the c-pad for a N64 game, or for anything for

that matter.

So I want to know if anybody has tried this, and if it would work. Or if

there is some other PC controller that feels like a Nintendo controller, please

tell me. Thanks!

A couple years back I purchased a gamepad from Logitech:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/controllers

It works well for all game systems in the RGR.

patar4097 : Honestly get a logi-tech controller. They work wonders, that or a Xbox 360 controller although they are a tad bit clunkier for playing certain games...

I currently use a Logi-Tech controller and I would back up what tRIUNE says by saying they work very well on every system in the RGR.

tRIUNE :
iN008 :

Ok, thanks. So for a N64 game, would the right control stick be able to be a c-pad? The one that I have now wasn't able to do that. It's not really a big deal, but that would be really nice if I could have every button on it.

patar4097 : Yeah all the buttons as far as I'm aware work perfectly for assigning to any button configuration.
oh and while I'm here you wouldn't mind testing out some Mario hacks for me when they're done?
Really should start testing them soon

Yeah the right analog I have configured as the c-pad for N64 and works fine for both 1964 and Mupen64Plus. Although with Mupen it's somehow auto-configured that way. Some game systems using the RGR Plugin will also work with the auto-config. MAME or systems that the Plugin is using MESS or Mednafen for its emulator also have an auto-config that works with the Logitech gamepad.
