I'm really challenging myself by doing this, but I am going to be making an Earthbound Walkthrough! I hope this will help people  but first of all, here's some stuff about the game____________________________________________________________________________________________________ About Earthbound Earthbound is an amazing RPG style game, and the only game in the "Mother" series that was released in both Japan and America. Our main hero is ness, accompanied by Paula, Jeff, and Poo. While Mother 2 was a HUGE success in Japan, it failed greatly in America, causing them not to release Mother 3 in America. The rest about this game you will find out in the walkthrough! ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ EXTRA STUFF! Spoilers will be in RED, and I'll highlight important parts in WHITE. Characters, enemies, and their information will be in YELLOW. P.S, I might interrupt the walkthrough to tell some hints and tricks or information. The year is 199X. In the city of Onett, Eagleland, Ness sleeps like a baby. He is soon interrupted by something falling and making a large "BOOM!" outside of his house. As Ness gets out of his bed, you can control them. Go out of his room and go into Tracy's Room (go to the door in the middle of the hallway). Get the cracked bat from the present, equip it, and go downstairs. You can go outside of your house and talk to anybody you see. Go on the trail in between you and your neighbor's house. Keep on following the trail (there is a place on the trail that you can get a bread roll...).You'll eventually get to a police roadblock keeping you away from what looks like a... meteorite? Talk to the chubby boy trying to get through, Pokey. He'll tell you to stop rubbernecking, and that he, Pokey, will find out about this mysterious meteorite. Now all you can do is go back home. Ness's mother will be waiting for him at the door. She will tell you that you should be getting to bed now, and you comply. Again in a deep sleep, you get woken up yet AGAIN by somebody knocking at the door. You get up again, and find Tracy, your little sister, in the hallway. She will ask who is knocking and that it is annoying. Go downstairs, and you can talk to your mom (you don't have to). She will say, "My land! Who could be here at this time of night? Can you get the door, Ness?" She will follow you when you walk to the door. Right when you are about to open it, Pokey comes busting through the door! He tells you that he was checking out the metiorite with his little brother, Picky (the only one in the Minch family that isn't evil), and that you ABSOLUTELY MUST help him find picky or else his mom and dad will be furious at him. If you say no, he claims that he will say something that will cut you like a knife. he actually doesn't, but it just ends up playing an endless loop of the same words, so you have to say yes. He tells you to say "goodbye" to your Mom before you leave. When you talk to her, she says that you should change out of your jammies first. Once you do, now would be a good time to go into Tracy's room and get and equip the cracked bat if you haven't already. Once you do that, go downstairs. Talk to King (or whatever you named your dog) and he will "volunteer" to come with you. Pokey hurries you, but not before the phone rings. Your Mom, of course, is too lazy to pick up the phone, so you have to. It turns out the caller is your Dad, and that he deposited some money in your bank account. He wishes you luck, and says that he is the father of a hero. You may now FINALLY leave and go outside. Pokey does stuff that has no effect in battle, like "used ness as a shield" or "apologized profusely". King attacks normally. Travel the same path you took to get to the meteorite. This time, since the police went to deal with the sharks, the local gang. You can actually go to the meteorite now. You will come across a couple of enemies away, but you will more than likely beat them easily. Once you get there, before you get near the meteorite, your dog will get scared and go back home. You may find Picky behind a tree near the meteorite. he will say a couple of things, like that he wonders who is the older brother, and then you will head off. Right after you start to leave, Pokey will ask you if you hear a buzzing noise. Whether you answer yes or no, he will insist that he hears one. Suddenly, a beam of light comes up from the meteorite, and a bee rises up from it. "A bee I am not", the bee says. He will tell you that his name is Buzz buzz, and will give a long speech about Ness, two other boys, and a girl saving the world. If you really want to hear the long speech, here it is: "A bee I am not… I’m from 10 years in the future. And, in the future, all is devastation… Giygas, the universal cosmic destroyer, sent all to the horror of eternal darkness… …… However, you must listen! Where I am from, there is a well-known legend that has been handed down from ancient times. It says “When the chosen boy reaches the point, he will find the light. The passing of time will shatter the nightmare rock and will reveal the path of light.” You see, it is my opinion that you are that boy, Ness. This I believe… …… Giygas’ monstrous plan must have been set in motion somewhere on Earth… If you start to confront the enemy immediately, you may have time to counter the evil intentions of Giygas. Three things are of the utmost importance: wisdom, courage, and friendship. …The legends from the ancient times tell of three boys and a girl who defeat Giygas. …I will tell you more later. Go now! And do not be anxious about the future. You have much work to do, Ness." Agh! *Gasp* I was… …much weaker than I thought… So you must now begin your adventure… see… you… Oh, I just remembered… Listen to my final words… To defeat Giygas, your own power must unite with the Earth’s… the Earth will then channel your power and multiply it… There are eight points that you must visit. Make these places your own… Each of these locations is “Your Sanctuary.” One of them is near Onett. It is called “Giant Step.” Go there first… Do you understand? (if you say yes All right. You are a very intelligent young man… and… Oh! The pain!… Everything is getting dark… urgh!… *Gasp*… Before I pass on, I want to give you something… It is the Sound Stone. You can record the melodies from the eight “Your Sanctuary” locations into this stone. It is an awesome item… By the way… I’m almost gone, but did you want to hear the story one more time? (if you say no to the first question …I see. I apologize. I guess I didn’t explain it well enough… (goes back to beginning) (if you say no to his question about repeating the speech again Good!
