You have to think of this. If God created us then who created God. I don't stand on any side. I find the scientific creation and the biblical creation theories to be absolutely ridiculous. If you feel that God is real and you feel that evolution is absolutely crazy then what is it that makes you think that the biblical explanation of creation is any better. Both theories are horrible. At least with the scientific theory you don't have alcoholism, sodomy, incest, torture and the destruction of entire empires. The bible is NOT about love and understanding, the bible is full of stories where men have sex with boys, daughters have sex with their fathers and people are tortured and wiped out because they don't believe in the almighty god. To all of you who think the biblical texts are about love and hapiness and believing in one god are true then your wrong. The bible is one of the biggest horror stories ever told. I also think that the scientific creation theory makes no sense either. How can everything just be a single point in space then all of a sudden.....Boom everything is created. Neither story makes sense to me and if you study the history of religion and especially christianty you will find all kinds of flaws. You cant just read the bible and say you know everything because there are many flaws in the story. Heres a Quote that I find intresting: For an intelligent man will read a thousands books and still admit that he knows nothing and has a lot to learn. But a religious man will read one book and think he has the answers to the world. If God was confirmed, it would depend on what He's like.
If He were like YHVH from the Shin Megami Tensei series, then hopefully he could be killed like in those games (I'm not being hostile towards religious types with that sentence, YHVH is a really, REALLY terrible being in that series, he even commits genocide THREE TIMES.) If God were disproven, well, I'd be okay with that, since I never believed in the first place. And having no God does NOT necessarily rule out an afterlife, or reincarnation. I would be sceptical if 100% proof was given because that would be forcing people to believe in him which in a way is a hollow belief because it is not a belief born from free will which God values above all else. However if the majority of the world believed this I think terrorism (religiously motivated not political, eco or financial) would either come to an end or be vastly accelerated by the appearance of God. I also like to think that nothing major would change other than the number of religious believers increasing.
Also if there was "proof" was given to disprove his existence I would continue to believe because I believe that god can not be proven to exist or otherwise because he three people yet one, he is everywhere yet nowhere, powerless (can not manipulate humans) yet almighty (can do literally anything else) so how could a paradox be proven or disproven? God is proven to be real: This depends which god. If it was the Christian god, I'd raise my middle finger to the sky, and gladly burn in hell. I'd rather suffer eternally than forever kiss that monster's ass. The same goes for the god of every Abrahamic faith. A deist god? I'd probably be like, "Oh, cool. I was wrong." God is proven to be fake: "Ha! I knew it! " God is proven to be fake: "Ha! I knew it! " |

If he does, I would say that "hmmmm, I guess some people were wrong around about his existence". If he doesn't, I'll say "Ok, he doesn't exist, now will you stop complaining about him and stop these 'religious wars'". It the existence of a God was proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, then it would become knowledge, not faith. His/her/its existence would become common like the laws of physics. |

If there were proof he exists, well there already IS. The Holy Bible is enough proof for me. And let me tell you something- my pastor disproved Charles Darwin's Theory of evolution. He once stated that if there were an organ so complex that 100's of 1000's of years of gradual change could not create and if one part broke the whole system wouldn't work, then my whole theory would come crashing down. The human cell. Enough said. That's enough proof for me. If there were proof he exists, well there already IS. The Holy Bible is enough proof for me. "If it was confirmed that God, the being who is said created us exists how would I react?", I would react by going about my daily life and if I could meet him I would simply ask the question what was your meaning or purpose for creating us "humans". |

I believe most people who already don't believe in God would react like this: Luke 16 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. So even if people get a 100% confirmation, they will probably still be skeptical until it was too late (which is predicted to happen in Revelation), unless the Holy Spirit convinces them otherwise. If he was confirmed to be real I'd probably go to church more often and
try to be nicer in general. If he was confirmed to not be real I'd be very disappointed. The thing I find odd is people who say they'd rather burn in hell then listen to what he has to say. It seems rather nonsensical to me. From a logical point of view being tortured for eternity isn't really anything to shrug off. I'm certain that 99% of people who choose that option would be deeply regretting it after about five minutes of burning alive. However, at that point you've kind of already committed to spending eternity there. Is it really worth it? try to be nicer in general. If he was confirmed to not be real I'd be very disappointed. I was a christian for most of my life, and a recent atheist, so I was drawn to this post, a good question.
I would however disagree with the descr At that point, I guess I would have one of two choices... I either sacrifice my morality, and worship a deity that wants me to slaughter homosexuals(Lev 20:13), and tells me to not eat shellfish(LOVE CRAB LEGS!) or... I maintain my morality, shellfish eating, and dislike of the overall character of Yahweh, and burn in hell FOREVER.... Given the option, I'd probably go with the former. Of course since I don't find the existence of the christian god to be even remotely plausible, I'm not too worried about it. (sorry if you couldn't read this, It's my first attempt at a layout) I would however disagree with the descr At that point, I guess I would have one of two choices... I am personally 100 percent atheist so if god was proven 2 be 100 percent real i would accept it but i wouldn't expect 2 be accepted into heaven because in the bible it says. Those who deny me before man should be denied 2 my kingdom. Or something like that. And i have denied him before man plenty of times. I have actually argued with a preacher on rather god exist. He was coming by peoples houses promoting his church and when i said no thanks i am an atheist. Well that is were our 30 minute or so argument began. If he was proven 2 be non existent i would say 2 myself i knew it. I personally believe in science because that can be proven. I don't look down or try 2 convince people 2 be an atheist so i hate when they look down and try 2 convince me 2 be christian. Plus their are tons of religions in the world so how does anybody know that the christian god is the right one? Image upload: 1024x768 totaling 165 KB's. I probably would not be too strongly affected if God was said to not exist. My beliefs have never been based upon religious texts, leading me to be more analytical in how I approach topics such as this. On the other hand, if he was proven to exist... oh man, I think my paranoia would ultimately skyrocket, since I don't like the thought of having someone passing judgement on me... good or bad. |

You mean Morgan Freeman isn't an all powerful being that controls and judges all? Well, there goes my one way trip to the heavens. Haha, but in all seriousness, this is a tough question to answer. I guess, if a god was proven to be 100% proven to exist... well, what would that change? When you think about it, if he was proven to exist then that means he's been around this entire time. So why would we change how we are? It's like meeting a new friend. This person you have just met has been around this whole time. You just didn't meet them until now. Should you change the way you live simply because you have met this new person? Not unless YOU want to. So if God was Proven 100% then I'd probably just continue life as it is. If he's been judging me this whole time then why should I worry if he judges me now? Sure, if I met him in person I'd ask a few questions but beyond that, it'd be no different than meeting a person of high renown. If he was disproven 100% then it'd be a little bit of a different story. Now I'm sorry if I offend anyone by saying this but I`d probably be a bit relieved. Why? Simply because people would stop trying to convert me into religion. I myself am not a man of religion, however I respect those that are. I just can't stand people that pay that respect back with a swift "you are going to hell." I know not all people of religion are like that and I am sorry if I have offended anyone but that is the reason I'd be relieved. Aside form said relief, it would end up similar to the first question. If he doesn't exist now, he didn't exist then. That means he was never around and so it doesn't change anything about then and now. We just have a new bit of information to throw around, no different than the newest iPhone price. Thank you for anyone who cared to listen to my opinion, and of course to all of you people of religion who bared through what I said. Once again I`m sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention. Thanks again. Bai Bai Haha, but in all seriousness, this is a tough question to answer. I guess, if a god was proven to be 100% proven to exist... well, what would that change? When you think about it, if he was proven to exist then that means he's been around this entire time. So why would we change how we are? It's like meeting a new friend. Bai Bai |

As a Christian, I can only answer one of the questions. There is no doubt. God does exist and by "God" I mean the one and only God. The Alpha and Omega, Creator of the universe. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God of the Bible. The Christian God. By trying to "disprove" or denying His existence is like saying gravity does not exist.
The reason why people do not want to admit that God exist is because deep down they do know He exist, but they suppress the truth since it makes them accountable to an all knowing, almighty, righteous God who will one day judge all sin. Some try to ease their conscience by willfully suppressing the knowledge of His existence and closing their eyes and ears with their hands like a toddler while running around shouting, "I can't hear you! I can't hear you!" It gives them a false sense of security that they can continue living an immoral life - lying, having sex outside of marriage, cussing, stealing etc. without any accountability. Once again, it's like gravity. By saying it does not exist does not change a thing. Step off a cliff and you will find out. The Bible says this in Romans 1:18-25, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen." sloanstar1000 : Hmmm. Isn't psalms 137:9 referring to the victor in a war? In other words the guy who's bashing the kid's heads in is happy because his side just won not because he bashing in heads is suppose to be entertainment. The bashing kid's heads in was a part of how war was done back then. If your city fell prepare for a crapton of death, enslavement, and other unpleasant things directed at the people in the fallen city. |

Vincent1875 : I don't see absolutely any relevance to whether it's "war time" or not. This was on the action of a "god" who sent Israel on a mission to obliterate opposing tribes. If this was a book that was in the least bit inspired by god, I would hope that it would say that maybe bashing children's heads against rocks is not a good thing to do, or ripping children out of the womb, but no, according to the bible this was to be done to the Midianites. Strictly under god's order.(not to mention flooding the entire world thing) Killing every man, woman or child of a certain tribe was NEVER the right thing to do, no matter the context. Despite the fact that people used to do it without question during times of war If this was a book that was in the least bit inspired by god, I would hope that it would say that maybe bashing children's heads against rocks is not a good thing to do, or ripping children out of the womb, but no, according to the bible this was to be done to the Midianites. sloanstar1000 : I don't think it's a mission at all. I think the guy who wrote the psalm is pissed that his city fell and is wishing ill on the people who just conquered it. I don't really see how God is involved there. I also don't think political correctness was a thing when the Bible was written. The psalm is a prayer to God, not something from him. |

I wouldn't think too much of it either way. I'm not a religious person at all. |
