Okay....!  So I finally did it!  I didn't get as much done as I had hoped for, but I got myself back into the game!

Yesterday I went for a 2 hour walk.

Today, after some posting frustration, I hopped on the treadmill.  I was so amped up that I actually jogged for 2/3's of the time.... much better than my usual 1/2 of the time.  Then, I felt so great about that... I stayed on for an additional ten minutes!  I wish I had got more done, but I'm at least happy for getting that much.

How did I fare today?

Treadmill: 2.9 miles travelled, 397 calories burned, 1% incline
30 minutes was split between quick walking (3.5 mph for 10 minutes) and jogging (5.5 mph for 20 minutes)
Then another 10 minutes (which I took a little lighter on myself) at 3.0mph and with a 0% incline.

65 lunges
21 chair dips
3 wide armed push ups

Food?
Well sadly, I can't say I did TOO well there.  I had some Burger King for breakfast, one energy drink for dinner, and a small chicken breast I cooked in tomatoes, squash, cucumber, olives and olive juice, and spices.

I know this is unrelated... but wow.  Want to know how to make a GREAT tomato soup?  Cook chicken in it.  Once you've had the chicken, stir in other ingredients associated with tomato soup.  BEST tomato soup I have EVER had.  It was SO flavorful and thick and creamy.  GREAT stuff.  Try it.

I really need to drink more water.

I swam in the neighborhood of 1000 yds today.  I've been averaging 22 miles a week running and I have given up on sports during my busy season.  I have a triathlon in February and I'm saving up for that.  My caloric intake will be hitting 3500 starting next week to beef up for some energy.  I burn a ton during the week and I'm ready to add some poundage to get me through the competition.

Otherwise, I had a few pieces of candy.  And I had to buy chips for a friend.  I felt like a fatty.  I hate crap food and I'm not at all pleased with myself.

I already posted a great workout two days ago that did not go through.
(I tried to post after one of my own posts.)
Like a few on this page or "thread" I know when I have said enough.
I have actually made my P.T. "trainers" tired at some point in my workout regiment experience. Twice this year even.
I will only post when and If I see some strange odd Item that might grant new insight.
Other than that I did have an Glorious upper body workout 2 days prior.
I had chin-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, Bench-dips, curls, Incline skull crushers, arm claps, and a good 15 minutes on the 80 lbs bag.
My diet consisted of Protein (Steak or burger), Veggies (Mostly Greens like Broccoli), and Heavy fluids intake (Milk, Water, Juice (red or strawberry). About a gallon and one half in a day. (Guess-timation on fluids.)
Do not expect me to post often in this thread any more.
I am only checking it once a day.
I decided to check and post only when needed.
I'll talk to a fool only if I think they are crazy enough to try something stupid.
As for the rest??
You guys are doing fine if your words are true.
Particularly the "P.T." "Vets."
Good Job and Good Show.
Keep it up.
I have a strange "gut feeling" about the next couple of years.
Good Luck To All.
I'm Done. Stick A Fork In Me.
Peace.

orionfoxgibson:  I'll miss your frequent posts here.  I think they're great, and I love seeing what you do.  However, I also understand what you mean.

warmaker:  Just out of curiosity because I've never been a swimmer... but how do you know the distance you have swam?  IS there something similar to a pedometer, but for swimming?  (That probably sounds like a stupid question, but I don't know how else to ask it.  LOL)

I didn't do ALL that well today.  Mainly because some side effects of my disorder hit me today and will be present for about five days.  Whenever it happens, I'm not supposed to strain myself.  However, I completed the following, at least:

5 chair dips
20 lunges
10 sit ups

I also worked a bit on the treadmill.  2.693 miles for 377 calories.  Out of 35 minutes, 18 was spent at 3.5mph and 17 were spent at 5.5mph.  30 minutes were with a 1% incline while 5 minutes were spent at a 0% incline.

As for what I ate?  EXACTLY the same as yesterday, BK for breakfast, chicken breast for lunch, energy drink later on in the day.

I had a question for all you more experienced exercisers? I have great perseverance when it comes to working out, but little strength.  One of the ways I push myself is by forcing myself to breathe REALLY slowly, even when my body wants me to pant and hack.  I'll take big deep gulps of air and let them out very slowly... until I can't manage this any more.  Is this unhealthy?  I was thinking about it today and worrying about it because although it helps me keep going (I don't know why), I would think depriving your body of the oxygen it wants is not a good thing.  LOL

If it is bad for you, what are some better ways to build perseverance?  How do you push yourself to keep going when your body aches and your side is in stitches?

Push?
Push to do the Impossible?
That's an easy question to answer.
(For me anyway.)
One day my sister came to my door step with a baby (2 years of age.) in her arms and asked if she could stay the night.
To my everlasting Pain I said "yes."
Everyday since has been a struggle with the many "Jack@$$-ed" idiot boss that requests the impossible.
EVERY time I had the urge to tell them to "take the job and shove it" I think of the child in my sisters arms in the November cold that was at my door step several years ago (She's a teen now.)and everything I have to do next is easy.
I do what I have to to make sure she is all-right and has food in her stomach and shelter over her head.
Even though Dear Sis has earned her degree and scored a future without my assistance I still think of that day.
The rest is easy.
When ever I think I have had too much??? I think of the way the new world is and what this newly formed person has to go through.
The stuff I have to do is easy.
Every blistering second.
Every agonizing breath.
It does not matter.
So long as I hear the words "Uncle ......" with joy in her voice. ...
Everything is worth it.
Nothing is impossible.
No job is too big.
No Task too TUFF.
"Nothing can be wrong if she is well." (As it was said once.)
I may never have kids after the H311 I went through for that kid to survive.
But it does give you everlasting strength.
It may not be enough for some.
For me???
It's enough.
it works.
I have no other advice for those who wish to learn how to rise above anything else.
It's what I got.
Good Luck.
I'm Done. Stick a fork in me.
Peace.

The pool is a 25 yard pool.  I just count the number of laps (there and back) I do and multiply that by 50.  A mile is 36 laps.  I did 20.

Woops, got caught up in school and whatnot
I'm still on my 5 day a week regimen for going to the school gym, and as usual I have 8 hours of dance class a week. I need to stop drinking soda, though, I just simply can't resist the stuff.

So yeah, I officially became lazy. Missed practice since monday and been slacking on bed for the whole week

Few more facts.
Remove all sodas and juice in your meals and you will see a big difference on calories (mostly towards juice surprisingly).
Juice from stores and markets is actually bad for you, replace it with the actual fruit to get the nutrients needed, or just use a blender (not recommended. It's an option just to replace water)
Gatorade is bad UNLESS you had been working and sweating heavily.

So now that the week of maintenance is over with, maybe we can continue this?  ^.^

My disorder stopped acting up as of yesterday night/this morning, so it had GREAT timing!  I'll tell you that God woke me with a pep in my step today, and I am feeling GREAT!  I only just got home about half an hour ago, but I've already completed quite a bit of my goal, with intentions to finish the night through.

I did weigh myself after several days of not doing so, and.... HURRAH!  I finally dipped below 160!  It almost seems like a dream come true for me, since I hadn't been keeping up with all the exercise I said I would.

At 159.2 pounds, I can proudly say that I have accomplished 120 lunges, 20 sit ups, 20 chair dips, and according to my pedometer, 1.334 miles of walking during the school day.  (The funny thing is, it's a test day so I sat around a lot...... imagine on a day I'm up and about teaching!  5 miles walked in my small classroom?  That's a lot of hustling!)

I plan on doing treadmill and the rest of the exercises at some point before bed.

I haven't eaten much today though.  I've been drinking about 40 oz of water every day (I need to double it), but today I've only had about 2 cups of dry cheerios... (long day)

EDIT:  Didn't get ALL done, but I certainly got a lot more done than I have on most days!  I think I came the closest to my daily goal yet!  Here are my totals for the day:

200 lunges
40 sit ups
35 chair dips
1.334 miles walking

40 minutes on the treadmill
10 minutes were spent at 3.5 mph, 20 minutes were spent at 5.5 mph
To rest, I did 10 minutes at 3.0mph
All 40 minute were with a 1% incline, and according to the treadmill, I burned 406 calories, while travelling a distance of 2.912 miles.

I had Ramen (with cheese, not spice) and a brownie for dinner, also a 40 oz cup of water.

Singelli : REVIVAL! Took you long enough :p
Anyway, been keeping myself lean but I am a bit upset. First, I was benched for the 1st time ever on a game, 2nd, when I came out, a player hit my leg and I was subbed out 2 minutes after my debut.
So how is this revelent? I hit the gym and did upper body. Lower body... couldn't do it... leg was swelling.

5 sets 5 reps of bench press 80% my max.
skull crushers
2 sets 4 reps incline 90% of my max
lastly... dips, crunches and pushups 20 reps each.

So, didn't get too much done yesterday outside of Roller Hockey, but I sure got my workout in there! Pretty much, lots of skating drills, laps, did a scrimmage, and a little bit of other kinds of work. Doesn't sound like much, but it was an hour straight work. They say that people burn 500 calories per hour rollerblading, and hockey is so much more of a workout than just skating! Anyway, I need to get back in the swing of things today.

becerra95 : I know right?  I need to get back in my game!  I did forget to mention though, that it was thanks to mrfe that I hopped back on it!   So thanks, mrfe!

I didn't do as much today as I did yesterday mainly because my body was sore.  However, I still did a good amount.
After breakfast, I weighed myself at 158.8 pounds.  Woot!

What I completed:
30 chair dips
80 lunges
40 sit ups

40 minutes on the treadmill
(2.759 miles and 376 calories.  This time, I did 15 minutes at 5.5 mph, 15 minutes at 3.5 mph, and 10 minute at 3.0 mph.
32 minutes were done at 1% incline, and 8 minutes at a 3% incline)

Also, the walking bit:
1.249 miles for 135.4 calories.

I don't really recall everything I ate.

By the way, I've missed hearing from many of you.

I just did 20 push ups, 60 crunches, and another 23 push-ups. I need to get back into shape if I am going to stay in the Army.

Where did everyone go?

Well, I would have changed to my layout for this thread, but I'm exhausted and ready for bed.  Those few moments aren't worth it.

Today I completed:
80 lunges
3 wide arm push ups
50 crushes (with 10 pounds)
20 sit ups

30 minutes on the treadmill  (10 min @ 3.5 mph, 20 min @ 5.5 mph.  all 30 minutes at 1% incline.  Burned 350 calories and traveled 2.407 miles)

Walked for 42 minutes for a distance of 1.629 miles and 176.6 calories burned.

I ate two English muffins with honey for breakfast, 2 popeye biscuits with honey for lunch, and then 3 fried chicken wings with Caesar dressing for dinner.  Had about 40 oz of water and 30 oz of organic Acai juice.

Yes, I'm aware I eat like a bird.

Now I want to hear from everyone else...

Ran 5 miles then did 1 chinese pushup. Last I played a bit of soccer until I bumped heads with 2 other players. Got ill due to weather

becerra95 : Chinese pushup? What's that? Must be tough, if you could only do one.

I've been walking 3 miles per day, usually. Honestly mondays and tuesdays are just really busy for me. I've got hockey tonight, so that'll be a really good workout. First game! XD Oh, when I walk for those 3 miles, I take 5 lbs weights and do curls and other similar arm workouts until my arms drop off. XD

mrfe : I looked up a chinese push up on youtube. All I have to say is... WOW. I don't think I could ever, ever do that.  LOL  And the guys that record it for youtube make it look easy, but there's no way you can do it without being bulked up.  haha.

As for my exercises, I've been slacking for a few days.  I got 50 sit ups, lunges, and skull crushers done the day before yesterday though.  Also a few push ups.

The strange thing is that with my legs, I can see the progress in strength.  But with my arms, I feel like I'm doing something wrong.  It seems like no matter how many dips or push ups I do, I'm never able to increase the number I am able to do.

Any advice on that?

Singelli : Something I've noticed is that it won't help unless it hurts. Like, not a bad 'I'm ripping a muscle' pain, but a different pain. If you know what I mean. Try doing one more pushup when you feel like you can't do another. Then, once you get comfortable with that, move on to another one. That's how the work us in hockey... XD

I'll have to look up chinese pushups, I wonder how they're done...

mrfe :  I DO push myself though, until I feel like I can't do it any more.  Maybe I just need to push even harder?  I did the skull crusher things until my arms shook and I felt like I couldn't lift them any more.  :/

Guess I just need to work harder....  lol
