Die Hard arcade packs solid beat um up fun with some decent polygon graphics. It got a port on the Sega Saturn but I'm going to review the arcade version.

GAMEPLAY B+: Beating the crap out of people is fun in a video game. Die Hard Arcade only makes that MORE satisfying then most beat um ups. The enemies have health bars which is quite useful. In addition the enemies are very intelligent. They will not give you a good chance at beating them they will beat the living crap out of you until you get faster. At pushing the attack buttons. So yes the game is frustrating but equally fun at the same time.

GRAPHICS B During the mid to late 90s games started getting a lot more real with polygon graphics. More and more games used these polygons and they became much more realistic. Die Hard Arcade might look blocky by today's standards, but the level of detail for its time is amazing. Everything looks somewhat real. The game is still very blocky, its like Sega used their Sega Saturn motherboard and put it inside the arcade machine. Wouldn't there be more power in an arcade machine. It looks like a Saturn or Playstation title. Despite its blocky appearance the visuals for Die Hard Arcade are still good.

SOUND B: Unfortunately since arcade games are still in beta right now some arcade games are messed up. The sound for this game kept repeating itself so hopefully this helps the testers. I ignored that though, and I heard some nice music and crystal clear voice samples. Everything you would expect in a late 90s game.

ADDICTIVENESS B-: The game is addicting, but it lacks replay value. You don't even get points so once you beat the game you won't really play it again.

DEPTH B+: The game may be short, but there's still quite a bit stages. It will take about 30 minutes to beat this game. By then you would have gone through several floors of a huge tower.

DIFFICULTY MEDIUM HARD: The game is difficult but its fair. The difficulty is usually not frustrating but make sure to put in plenty of quarters before playing (5 on you keyboard.)

OVERALL RATING B

Upcoming reviews

I loved this game.
Can anyone remember the Spin off they made with 3 selectable characters and a strange pirate theme redress they did for the terrorists? It was insanely funny.
Can't remember the title though.
I just remember it was a coin-op that looked and played exactly like this game.

Good Luck To All.
Peace.
