This game is one of the reasons why you should get a real Atari 2600. It was an arcade game that used vector graphics. Unfortunately the Atari 2600 does not support vector graphics. So in this port of Asteroids the asteroids are rendered in pixels and they come in various colors.

GAMEPLAY A: Although the game may look simple. Asteroids really packs a punch when it comes to gameplay. You are a little spaceship that has to shoot giant asteroids into pieces. The asteroids get faster and faster as you complete each wave. The controls feel like you are controlling a real space ship. Up is to thrust, left and right make you turn, and down makes you disappear for a short time. It's really satisfying to shoot the asteroids into smaller pieces and then have them destroyed .

GRAPHICS B+: The games graphics might look simple. Believe it or not the graphics are actually quite impressive. One major part that makes them good is the non flickering sprites. It might be strange to see randomly colored asteroids on a screen, but hey would you rather have the game look more boring with just grey asteroids.

SOUND B: I really like how as you play you hear a little song that's just more of a pulse. Space Invaders had a similar song. This was done to excite the player. While the sound effects are not much they make the game more satisfying to play.

ADDICTIVENESS B: The game is quite fun, but I have played more addicting Atari 2600 games out there though.

DEPTH B+: The screens don't change much, but there's lots of variations to choose from. I really have not played very many of them but I know that there's many just by hitting the game select switch a lot.

DIFFICULTY MEDIUM EASY: This game is not very difficult. An amateur can be a pro in minutes. The game still has degree of challenge though.

OVERALL RATING B+

Personally, I would have a hard time reviewing a game with such a limited frame of gameplay. Great review.
