Donkey Kong Country was released in 1994 for the SNES. It sold 9 million copies and was once a pack in game for the SNES.

GAMEPLAY: The gameplay style is very nice. You can switch between Donkey Kong and the newly introduced Diddy Kong. You can pick up barrels and smash enemies with them or you can attack them by jumping on them or knocking them down. There are plenty of bonus areas that you can find, and apparently Nintendo counted them as levels. I like how you can collect things to earn extra lives, like finding the letters KONG in the levels or you can find 3 golden animals and get an extra life too.

GRAPHICS: The game uses 3D models to represent the characters, and I think Nintendo did that for a reason. To show off that the Super Nintendo's graphical capabilities to the public, because back then 32-bit systems and CD systems were everywhere. Anyway the games 3D models look impressive and are very detailed. I like the lush scenery too, there's very good looking backgrounds that take advantage of parallax scrolling. The intro video at the beginning title was pretty cool. You see Cranky Kong which is an old guy playing the old record player and them suddenly. BOOM Donkey Kong smashes in action and plays his Boom Box super loudly and Cranky Kong get mad and throws a dynamite barrel near Donkey Kong.

SOUND: The sound is great there are great little songs in the levels and the sound effects are top notch.

ADDICTIVENESS: No matter how many times I died. I still kept playing. One time I was stuck on a level for 15 minutes and I still kept playing. That's how addicting this game is. I guarantee that you will be attached to this too.

DEPTH: The game has a lot to offer. 40 levels to play and plenty of secrets. I was in the levels hunting for all the secrets and its very fun. There is a creative boss stage for each section of the island. I spent 1 week on this game. That's how much this game has to offer.

DIFFICULTY: The game is difficult. It's very easy to die and I get very frustrated when I spend a bunch of time trying to beat a level that I know how to beat. People who are really good at video games will like this game the most!

STORY: The story is simple. King. K Krol stole Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong's banana horde. They then go on a quest to defeat King K Krol and retrieve their banana horde.

OVERALL RATING: 9

Another amazing game made by super Nintendo. I was very impressed when this game came out. The graphics for back in that time were phenomenal. The game was incredibly fun and difficult. I loved the baddies in this game they were funny looking and really interesting. The music was actually some of the best background music to a video game I had ever heard. I even think its still some of the best music. I was really impressed with it. All the donkey Kong country games were amazing. This was one of my favorites when I was a kid up there with super Mario world. I still love the game and will play it. Its a game you can play for hours and play over and over and never get bored of it no matter how good you get at the game.
