Normally I have been able been able to play  Sega Genesis games with my Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2 in the RGR without problems, but lately, every time I try to press a diagonal in a game, it won't notice it. This is especially frustrating, especially  when I want to play games that require use of the diagonals. May someone please help me figure out how to fix this?

You know I was having the same problem with my Logitec controller and the genesis emulator awhile back. Although I don't think I'm having that problem anymore. I will double check and let you know. Also, try to reconfigure either with the mode button on the controller on/off

Since this is dealing with the Retro Game Room I have to send this to the Retro Game Room forum. They can help you more with this problem.

Good luck on getting this fixed!

Jordanv78 : I tried Reconfiguring as a 3-Button controller, but the diagonals still wouldn't work. I tried testing the diagonals in a helicopter game called Red Zone, where you have to use diagonals to make the plane turn while flying forward, but I can only either turn or fly forward, and never both, making controlling in an already difficult game even more painful now that a vital component is gone.

tRIUNE : Do you know something about this problem? I was hoping you could shed some light.

It happened to me awhile back, and then suddenly got better.

Unfortunately I don't know of a solution with the RGR Plugin.

I tested that game you mentioned, "Red Zone", and the diagonals do work with the keyboard, however, not with my controller which is a Logitech F310.

Hello there, Über again. I'd just like to say that this issue with the diagonals affects every game for the Sega Genesis, not just Red Zone. I tried to Grab things diagonally in Ristar, but it couldn't be done. I'll try using other controllers to see how they work.

I don't think you would have success with a different controller, I think the problem is that the version of Gens emulator which the RGR Plugin is built on doesn't support diagonal D-pad function. It does support diagonal movement with the keyboard though.

tRIUNE : Well, I was able to go diagonal with my Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 before, but it just suddenly stopped; that's the issue.

BREAKING NEWS EVERYONE: I tried using my Logitech Precision and my Game Elements GGE909 Recoil, and they both worked with the diagonals.

This is odd, how come two of my controllers work, but one of them, which used to always work well for me, isn't working anymore?? I've used the controller in question on other, non-Vizzed related programs and the diagonals work well, so why is it just Genesis games on the RGR that are a pain for my RumblePad 2?

I can only guess it's due to a recent update of something. Did you notice this after installing the most recent version of the RGR Plugin? or did the diagonals work before with Plugin version 1.7?

tRIUNE : I'm pretty sure it has to do with that version of Gens emulator and the drivers for particular Logitec controllers. Like I said before I experienced the same issue a version or two of the RGR, then suddenly it got better for me. I know it's little to go on....

I can't remember when it happened, but I know it happened recently, so I think it did happen when I updated to the latest version of RGR. I guess all I can do until the next version is either use the Logitech Precision when I want to play Genesis games, or if I don't feel like swapping controllers, just use Xpadder.
