It doesn't matter if you can't understand Japanese, just their voices.

I prefer them in Japanese if it is a Japanese show.

I typically love the Japanese voices. However, sometimes the male voices seem a little out of place to me. I guess I like the Japanese voice actors for the female characters and English or Japanese for the male characters. In Clannad for instance, I much prefer the Japanese actors. Usually it's pretty close though.

I typically like it better if they are still in the original language. That is unless it is a really actiony show just because I do not have time to read.

I like the voice actors in FMA though. They are really good.

Typically, I prefer Japanese, or "english subbed", as is what it is. Most anime sounds better with the original voices, as the actions in the anime and the expressive speaking of Japanese people go hand in hand. And that's really how it's supposed to be. But, as you all know, there are those out there where English is a lot better. "Ranma 1/2", if you've seen it, is much better being "Eglish dubbed". Another is "Elfen Lied". In "Spice and Wolf" I've noticed the female character, Holo, sound like a little girl with a bit of snob to her in the Japanese version. In the English version, however, she sounds like a mature woman (with a lot of arrogance ) which is amazingly better.

You can try re-watching anime you've seen in a different version to get a feel of which type is better.

I like it in English because I know what they are saying but I like it in Japanese because their voices sound cooler.

I like Japanese better because (sorry) for some reason the voice acting in the English dubbed can sound, sometimes, emotionless and/or fake- to me. Like, if I watched an anime originally in Japanese and then see the English dub- it's kind of painful to watch lol

I like the original Japanese voice acting better, however sometimes I get lazy and don't want to read subtitles so I just watch the English version anyway. It's going to be so great once I learn Japanese.

I usually prefer Japanese voice actors, but it usually depends on what I start with first. An example would be with Lucky Star. I started watching the dub first, and I still enjoyed it. I think both voices are actually pretty good, and Lucky Star might just be an exception. x3

I can't watch dubs if I've seen the subs already. It's hard for me to watch the Clannad dubs because I've already seen the whole thing in Japanese and those are the voices that really stick with me. But I know some people like it the other way around and that's fine too. x3

So do I like dubs or subs more? No question in my mind. Subs are way better.

I love both English and Japanese. I'm not going to lie there are some bad dubs. Although some subs can be annoying too. Like when the voices gets too high-pitched when either whining or complaining.

The style of anime and the mode of speaking is not something many English actors understand, so I have to say Japanese voice acting wins this one. There are a few exceptions, however. I much prefer the English Dub for Fooly Cooly and Rurouni Kenshin over their Japanese counterparts, because I think the actors really understood and played with the genre.

As long as the dubbing is good, if I am watching it on T.V in the U.S, then I definitely want to see it in English. And there are some anime/game voices that I think are better in English. I think The World Ends With you (Game) sounds better in English than in Japanese, especially Sho Minamamoto. I think that since Baccano (Anime) takes place in America, it naturally would be better in English.  I don't like it when people simply assume that the Japanese voice acting is better, and I think that American voice acting can be just as good. I guess semi-part of the reason why I prefer dubbed in my region is because I don't like how some of my friends/acquaintances who are way into anime and are at the peak of weeaboo-ness think that everything out of Japan is a gift from the almighty and that everything else pales in comparison. Another issue is that if you grew up in japan and you were familiar with all sorts of Japanese accents and watched anime, you would probably be just as sick of the voices as people are over here of American voices. Since the language makes it sound so different, I think that makes people like listening to the original voice and if you aren't familiar with the language, then you can't really say whether or not their voice is crappy unless you just find their tone to be ridiculous. My guess is that people in Japan who watch American videos dubbed in Japanese probably feel the same way about their dubs as we feel about ours, and possibly prefer to watch it subbed with English voices rather than dubbed. (IMO)

For me, it really depends on the show. If it's censored by 4kids, then I prefer it in Japanese. If not, then It doesn't matter, and I like them both.

DeltaEdge : I agree with your post 100%. I've been reading a lot of dub vs sub arguments on other forums (on different sites) and I must say that it's ridiculous how sub elitist talk and look down upon all English dubs. I mean sure everyone has their preference and if people choose original audio over English audio and vice/versa, that's fine. Although elitists just go around saying ''dubs suck'' or ''dubs is for retards who can't read'' (yes I actually saw this comment lol) then it shows that they just want to be Japanese so bad.

I really like the Japanese voices in animes better. I don't know why, I guess I just find japanese people have better acting than the English voices. Plus I kinda find the Japanese voices soothing, and just soft. Some of them can be a bit, loud but otherwise I'm fit with the Japanese voices. If there's an anime with English voices, I refuse to watch it. They have to be in Japanese for me. I'm kind of weird like that.@import url(https://www.vizzed.com/boards/cuteeditor_files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);
