We might do something similar to what we did last year at this time, but things like Vizzed Camp are a solo effort and take loads more time to prepare for to do well. So I'm inclined to say there won't be a winter camp of sorts.

If we did do something, it'd probably be strictly video game related.

Time moves slowly for me most of the time. It's all about perspective.

Alright Legacyme3 I wanted to first formally introduce myself to you, my name is Jacob, JJH is my initials, and I love VIZZED! I figured since I plan on becoming a regular you are a guy I'll be getting to know.

I don't mean to be negative in this post but I guess its probably going to come off that way, so I apologize and hope it doesn't make you feel any less of me.

Since I only just joined in august this is my first TDV. It seems like a very good idea and fun way to get people active. The only problem I noticed is that I think you might agree with me, a lot of the people who will win are really just spamming. They may not be TECHNICALLY spamming by vizzed rules, but they are just posting massive amounts of posts without any real substance or information, just really bland posts. Personally I refuse to stoop to this level. When I post I want to have something new to bring to the table. I dunno I guess it just may be me letting out my sour grapes for not being a jersey winner !

So I guess my first question is simply, how do you feel about what I just said, do you sort of agree or not?

My next question for you would be about a post you made a very long time ago! I noticed in the sports and MMA subforum you mentioned you are not a fan of MMA and that its just guys beating on each other. I also noticed that you ARE a pretty physically active guy and do enjoy other sports a lot. I guess this kind of saddened me because I'm a huge MMA fan and I just thought it was weird that you are a sports fan but not an MMA fan. Do you also feel the same way about boxing as you do MMA? What about wrestling or martial arts that are included in MMA like Brazilian jui jitsu or judo or karate or tae kwon do? I think MMA fighters are some of the most disciplined athletes in the world and also that MMA is one of the hardest sports in the world. Pro MMA has even had guys who competed in the NFL cross over and out right say that MMA is more difficult than the NFL could ever be.

I do agree, however there's not much that can be done about it. The Tour de Vizzed is the most active time of our three month cycle. See, our cycles go as follows, VCS, TDV, and then an off month with no posting competition. I think you'll find you like the off months the most, as there isn't as much spam, and a higher quality of posts. The TDV exists as a competition the owner, Davideo7 came up with that is based off the real life Tour de France. The sole purpose of it I believe is to drive up activity in general. See, a great deal of the revenue that keeps this site running is from ads and donations. Ads are obviously seen more on active month, meaning more money for David, which is good, because he needs money to keep this place running. I don't know if the server cost on the front page is accurate... but nonetheless it takes a great deal of money just to keep the forum itself up, not to mention run the RGR which has many visitors each day.

In short, while I agree that the TDV will probably be won by a spammer, I also don't think there's much that can be done about it. It's also "possible" to win the TDV without spamming, but it's incredibly freaking difficult. I won it in July, in large part thanks to me spending a great deal of time on Vizzed.

I should reiterate what I said, since it's dawned on me I might not have gotten my point across about that post.

I'm a huge sports fan. I love all kinds of sports, mostly basketball, baseball, and tennis. However, I am also a major pacifist, and don't really like the idea of violence, even in a competitive environment. I respect what they do, and acknowledge their athleticism, but it's really nothing I can say I enjoy. The closest I get to watching people beat each other up is when I watch WWE which is obviously fake and very much toned down since the Attitude Era (which ironically is the one "violent" thing I wish I could watch again ). To me it doesn't matter how difficult it is to do MMA... I just can't watch it without feeling wrong.

I'm not interested in Ancient Greek or Italian in the slightest, so those are automatically out.

Russian is interesting because I have a good deal of Russian heritage, and I'd like to know more about where one of my ancestors was from. I wouldn't have much use for the language, but I guess it would let me go to Russia and see the place where my ancestors are from.

Japanese is another I'd like to learn I watch a lot of anime and read a bit of manga, so it'd obviously be nice to be able to watch subbed anime without having to look at the words, and read japanese manga so I don't have to wait for the americanized version.
