What do you think about the gradually declining in active members that are not staff.. becoming more and more obvious?

It was brought to Vizzed by myself and the_casualty, we liked the name "Innocent Town" when we saw it used on another forum (although I am also a fan of the Disgaea games, where the name ORIGINALLY comes from, and think I would have used it, regardless, just because the name is awesome).

It was named this, at least on my end, because I like the Disgaea world. Innocent Town is a kickass name too.

I've posted several times in the Team TDV thread about this, sort of. It's blatantly obvious there are too many staff, and not enough active non-staff on site. I think it actually is a problem. What's the point of a site where everyone works? It's a volunteer job, and you are getting no money. There have to be a total of about what, 50 people on site who are either site staff, a chat mod, local mod, global mod, admin, or owner level user. There might be 10 people who you could call "active" who aren't one of those things.

Probably not. I just don't have the time for competition anymore. I barely have time to host games anymore. I only do it because I really like doing it. I'm not as big into competing myself.

Would you compete if the competition was a VCS instead of the TdV? I find myself not wanting to post during a TdV but a VCS excites me.... I don't know why but I'm wondering if you feel similarly.

The thing about VCS is that I'm basically the champion of that game. So there's reason to compete, but there's also reason to just retire from it permanently.

I wonder how I'd feel if the VCS made a return, but unless it displaced the TDV, I'm not sure I'd have a ton of interest, because I like having two months of down time after each competition. Lowers the spam in the TDV significantly.

How is your team doing in the MLB? Better than you expected or worse?

Far worse. I didn't expect us to win the division or anything (I tried looking for the season preview, but I guess I may not have posted that here...), but I did expect us to compete year round, be at about 85 wins at the end of the season, and in contention for a wild card spot.

With Boston, winning isn't just hoped for, it's demanded by the rabid fan base. We're spoiled by three world championships recently (04, 07, 13), and with only a few truly bad years since 2004 (12 and 14 being the worst outside of this year).

This season, in short, has been an absolute, unmitigated disaster sent down from the baseball gods.

The longer version is this... literally nothing is going right.

Our catchers keep getting injured (first Vazquez, then Hanigan, and for a brief period of time, Swihart too), and that gives our pitchers little to work with. When you don't know who is going to be catching you a month from now, it's hard to get a strong rapport going, so you can be on the same page. With an elite rotation, you can get away with that, but with Boston's rotation, you can't.

Players who needed to play well, haven't. Pablo Sandoval and Hanley Ramirez have cost this team ridiculous amounts of games, either offensively, or defensively. This is not what we paid for, and if they don't pick up the pace in year 2, they might get Crawford'd out of town.

Mike Napoli has been in a season long slump. Rick Porcello isn't as advertised. Rusney Castillo has played in like 20 games. Brock Holt was our only all star at the break, despite being our 5th best player.

We lacked any sense of consistency, and just when you think they are getting on a roll (like winning the games before the ASB), they just give it right back and go on a 10 game losing streak (I wish I was joking).

The only bright spots on this team have been Mookie Betts, Xander Bogaerts, and Eduardo Rodriguez. Basically, anyone young, and with a pulse. And Mookie got hurt in the most 2015 Red Sox way today. I'm not going to go look for the video, but it's probably in a highlight. Just look up "Jose Abreu HR".

At this point, I'm thoroughly disgusted with my team. They made the wrong moves in the offseason, signed two third baseman (when it's arguable we needed zero), tried to slap duct tape on a rotation (failuriffic) and keep trying to force Joe Kelly into a starting role (He's a reliever, I wish the Sox would realize this).

Just name anything bad that can happen to a baseball team, and it's happening to us. I would not be surprised if we lose 90 games this season.

We weren't supposed to win the division, but we also weren't supposed to be one of the 5 worst teams in all of baseball, in a weaker than usual AL East.

It's bad. Really bad. This may be the worst Red Sox team of the 21st century.

Do you think you could win an overall yellow jersey someday?

In all seriousness, do you think that someday you'll once again place in the top 10 of a TdV jersey or banner without even trying?

As for competing in a TDV, never again, probably.

I just don't have the motivation to post every single day, and even when I do have the motivation to post more than usual, I don't post hundreds of times anymore, I only put in 10 or so posts of like 1,000 words each, and leave it at that.

That might be good for scoring points in the yellow jersey, but I don't think I'd be able to consistently post for a full month anymore (I just have too much of a life now, and even in my downtime, I don't really like coming here).

I'll never win another TDV, I'll almost certainly never be in the top 5, and it's very possible I'll never be in the top 10.

Without trying, forget it. I'd need to go back to being the posting god I used to be to finish well in a TDV. And I'm never going to try again. No reward for so much time spent.

I don't. Actually, summer is my least favorite season, living in New England. It might be fun for the kid, since you don't have to go to school for like 2 1/2 months, but it's humid as hell, and unpleasant, and every day is a struggle, since my house doesn't have AC. Summer is terrible. My favorite season is autumn, because not only is it a reprieve from the heat, but it's cool, somewhat windy, and the leaves are all over the ground. Also, all my favorite sports are still going on, generally (until the end of September).

I really like Autumn because the multicolored leaves make nature even more pleasant to look at than usual.

It's kind of hard to say, because really, I don't "celebrate" anything. I acknowledge days on the calendar, like "oh, it's Christmas!" or "Happy New Years", but generally speaking, I don't "celebrate" beyond the idea that gift giving is a thing.

I'm Atheist. Christmas has no meaning to me, neither do any holidays with religious tones, be it Christian, Pagan, or anything. And since most holidays have religious tones, I cannot "truly" celebrate them.

Nope! I've never been in a band besides the school band in elementary school, when I played the trumpet.

I am tone-deaf, and lack the ability to do much of anything with music. I like singing, but I'm terrible at it, and I don't have any interest in instruments or learning how to play them.
