Well I did not even know that it was any different prior.

I noticed that I could rate less points but I figured that I just lost TP for some reason and was a little curious but figured it was fine. Well I am glad I know what is up now! Why did you change it? Abuse?

I've never really looked at the fact of whether or not someone is trusted, but I suppose to some other people who don't know the regulars around here, the TP system can help because then you know who to go to to ask questions. Thanks for the changes.

For David to update it like this is quite simple. The kind of change we're really looking for would take more time and effort to accomplish than this small change did.

You think the trust system is good?

Well, here are some changes I'm looking for:

1) The number of points you can give/take is based on power level not the number of points you already have. This would put control over who is and isn't trusted into the hands of the staff and Vizzed Elite rather than in the hands of those who have the most points.

2) Reset the points completely to start everyone over.

3) Have some sort of system to track who gives points (for staff only) and their reason for giving a point. I want the trusted system to be rewarding good behavior rather than simply giving out points cause we "like each other".

geeogree : Oh everyone back at 0! Crap. It took me 400 days to get what some members get in 2. Well I guess that is why you are re doing it. Some people just rate up three's to people that they like not people that really deserve it. I hope that this new changes are for the better but I am sure that they will be. I always wondered why you could not put a reason why you upped or downed people but I guess it is getting added now. I also agree with power level is better. You can't just get a higher level from doing nothing.

I love this.

thenumberone : I never said we would review them all.... just track the reasons people are putting down. Then we would have a list of all the reasons people got rated up or down. While it may not actually accomplish anything it would still be nice to see what justifications people came up with for giving points out.

I like the idea. Sometimes when I see trusted members do either newbie or just ridiculous things, I always wonder how they got their points in the first place. Think it would be good to make it to where you have to be a member for a given period of time before you can be a trusted member? That way someone who signs up because they have 5 friends who are trusted members, they don't get that status the day (or even week) they register?

We could make it an approval system where the points don't get added (or taken away) until it's approved by a staff member (possibly a global mod). It's not like the points are urgent or anything so it wouldn't be too bad if people had to wait for the vote to take effect either.

I am definitely willing to relinquish the ability to rate others to give it to those who are really are trustworthy. Doing so would put "trusted members" like myself in a proper position.
