No way Ziggy, I'm a Kirby fanatic till the day i die.
Xbox gets all the "Cool" games cause it's sponsored by Microsoft (If I remember correctly).

I think it says they made a small attempt at fixing it... which at least means they are starting to slowly address the problem. Keep in mind its really not Sony's fault. Fans just kept pushing and pushing them to release the PS3 as fast as possible. Sony actually loses money when you buy a PS3 so for them to even apply any updates to it just shows how hard they work. Most people talk about the Wii being very "innovative" but all it scrap up old equipment and make it look fancy to be honest. The PS3 uses a brand new disc format and paid for the development of a new kind of processor. The PS3 is in all actuality much more innovative then the Wii so to be honest a PS3's is far more justified then a Wii's.

The old technology I am talking about btw. A Wii mote is basically one of those arcade guns that never stop shooting. The Censer bar is just 2 light sources so the Wii mote can sense where to place the pointer. It has very little hard drive capacity compared to either of the two next gens(512 mbs). Its only has a 729 Mhz processor(now i know its specially made for gaming but still). 64 Mbs of ram. And the GPU(The graphis) is an almost identical card to the GCs but is 1.5x faster. Now of course listing the specs of gaming machine makes it seem like nothing but to be the honest, the Wii's hardware isn't worth the money compared to the other 2 systems.
It is Sony's fault and at the same time, it isn't. It's their fault for rushing the PS3, but it's the game industry's fault for making new game systems too often. It's getting ridiculous with all the features they want customers to consider the norm.

I think if a company is going to make a new system, they should make it backward compatible. Why? Well it kinda sucks having to have 10 game systems plugged into my tv at once and requires for a big entertainment center. With the Wii, that can replace the Cube, XBox 360 replace the Xbox, and Playstation 3 replace ps1 and ps2. So because of the backward compatibility, instead of having 7 systems hooked up, I can now only have 3 systems. This is a hypethical situation since I do not own a PS3 and since I also own more than just those systems mentioned.

Yeah, having a ton of systems in a room makes it really messy, plus think of the money wasted when not playing most of those systems and just focusing on one system alone. That is why backward compatibility is good. Unfortunately some game companies just slap it together, which is a waste of our money.

For your thing about backwards compatibility.... game systems are just about the first thing to ever have backwards computability. Cars? my car doesn't use any previous fuels. My XP? that can't every DOS program.

My basic point is. When these things come out. Your supposed to get rid of the older things that it replaces. People are just becoming too spoiled by gaming companies when you EXPECT backwards compatibility. Also to be honest, I'd rather them spend less time letting me be able to play older games on my system more time on thinking how they can make the system better.

It's just, you don't promise a feature and then just half-ass it in the end. You just don't. It ruins the hype.

Well I don't think the great old games should be forgotten, I'm still willing to play them.

Your point about the computer thing was kinda silly Remlee. Windows Vista plays a lot of Windows XP stuff and also even plays some Windows 95 stuff. Would it make you mad if Windows Vista didn't support any Windows XP stuff? I'd sure be mad, and I know that everyone else who has Vista would also be mad.

The car analogy is also kinda silly. Every car I've had use the same kind of unleaded gas, same kind of washer fluid, same kind of antifreeze, etc.

Compatibility makes life easier and since we as humans are advancing in technology, we should also become smarter with how we do things.

Imagine if you bought a DVD player that only played DVD's that were released in 2008 and you had to buy a separate DVD player for each year. Because of compatibility, DVD players can play all DVD's and I'm pretty sure Blu-Ray players play DVD's also.

At the rate Microsoft is going, there'll be probably 5 different Xbox systems by 2015 and that would suck to have to own all 5 of them to be able to play all the games for the various xbox systems, just takes up to much space and I'm the type of person who doesn't get rid of older systems because there are times when I want to play the games for them but if I'm able to get a newer system which plays newer games and the older games, that just takes up less room for me.

Microsoft is a money whore. If you don't want to pay them that much and teach them how you want your gaming companies to run, don't buy their products.

All I'm saying is. If you own the older game, you own the older system(Companies know this so how much work do you really think they should even put in to it because let me tell you, it takes a lot more work then you probably think... tho you do know programming so maybe you do). It really doesn't bother me to take the 1 minute to switch hook ups. I have 3 systems in my room and once the PS3 drops down in price I'll own all 3 consoles of this gen.

About the DvD thing. That has happened several times. Why? Because my family buys crappy DvD players lol. And To be honest, no I don't like that my PS2 can play them but my DvD players can't.

For iblock saying about PROMISING backwards compatibility. I remember them saying they have it, not saying "We offer the best backwards compatibility EVER"(Which they do out of the 3 next gen systems)) or something along the line to make customers believe it was going to even a major feature(they announced it... they didn't pitch it as a big selling tool). They half assed no less then Microsoft does with its Operating Systems and Console(which the backwards compatibility is geared for you to spend more money on games). They are attempting to fix it as i said earlier anyway... but updates to improve backwards computability never happen(I'm pointing at you Mr. Vista.)

I recently read somewhere that there's an update to the PS3 for better quality for PS2 games on the PS3.

At this moment, I've got 12 game systems hooked up to my TV all at once, so you can imagine that I've got a pretty big entertainment center (which i'm proud to say that i built myself).

My dad on the other had has about 20 game systems, 6 hooked up to an HDTV and 14 hooked up to a tube TV. He's also a game collector though and would refuse to play PS2 games on a PS3, he's all about playing the games on their original system
Which I understand because playing a system to much just increases the possibility of it having problems and why play PS2 games on an expensive PS3 when you can play them on a cheap PS2 and reduce the amount of hours spent on that PS3 to help preserve it's life expectancy, especially seeing how modern systems (xbox 360) have more problems than they ever had.

EDIT: Not sure if I just contradicted myself or what

Microsoft really is a money whore charging people for support that is messed up. One of the many reasons I go with any other option available on the table such as getting a Mac or buying a PS3 or cube instead of a Xbox. Doesn't XBOX also charge for online play?

Apple is a big whore too though, the technology behind hte Iphone and Ipod are insanely cheap, there's competitors out there who sell similar products that are probably better for less than half the price but Apple is smart enough to know that majority of people are ignorant and don't do their research and will buy something because it's popular or for it's name.

Every company is a whore, the only company that wasn't so greedy was Sega

I would never buy an Iphone or Ipod since I never use phones and don't use portable music players.

I only converted to Apple since they have computers that suits me better and are much more secure and reliable That's just from my experience though as I have had nothing but horrible experience with Microsoft.

About Sega... that's probably why they ran out of business is because they wern't a money whore lol. Charging for support though, that is sinking to the lowest of lows as far as Microsoft is concerned

Most companies do charge for support, that stuff costs money.

Sega is still around though, they just make games and they've made some pretty highly rated games in the past few years.

Also, the only reason there are a lot of virus's and security problems with microsoft is because the majority of people use microsoft so therefore the majority of hackers and nerds are going to be making virus's for microsoft. If everyone used mac's than there'd be tons of security issues with mac's and tons of virus's for them but since most people don't use mac's, most people aren't going to waste their time making virus's for them.

Thank god! I will continue to stick with underrated stuff from now on.

We should start up a petition and send it to Sega once we get enough people who want a DreamCast2. I want one!!! It's a bit sad though as it looks like Sega is dieing more and more. I miss the good old days when I could go to a store and see Dreamcast games up on the shelf.

Actually Sega has been getting bigger and bigger since the fall of the Dreamcast, they make a lot of big games for the big systems and Sega owns a lot of game companies so pretty soon they will be big enough to make another system.

Yes, now all we have to do is wait a little for Sega to confirm the idea of a new system.

And if PSU doesn't get on that system it would be sure to be canceled.

I think the prices should go / should BE going down.
Our economy is horrendous and needs to lower costs so that we'll buy more with the amount of money we have left over from cut prices!

...and so I'll be able to buy more games, anime, and mangas.

Unfortunately, the economy works the opposite way. When a currency sucks, say the U.S. dollar for instance, it causes inflation and everything becomes more expensive. Think back to depression Germany when people used money as kindling because it was so worthless.
