as the title says, ghostbusters 2, for the nes.
the game was surprisingly fun, then again, i had very low expectations.
-theres not much to say really, its as simple a game as could be made.
you chose your hostbuster at the start.and he also gets a sidekick.the game is simple because, it only has 2 buttons.one button fires a laser, the 2nd button makes your partner use the ghosttrap to catch it.this can get annoying at times becuae youre partner has to be facing the ghost.at one point my partner did 4 laps of the room tryinbg to fingd the ghost i xzapped, while amusing, it does get annoying.
theres also a fairely stupid glitch, if theres a ghost on the other side of a wall, it cant get you.but, you can get it.its an easy way of getting through the game.
so, if youre hit by the ghosts 3 times, you lose a life and get a continue screen, and you get 3 continues.if im honst, i only stayed for 2 continues.
so the features:
overall, it was pretty decent, what it reall reminded me of, movement wise etc,was pokemon for the gameboy advance.the layout, the items, all pretty similar.it was entertaining up until i got annoyed with various things, but, fun nonetheless.i give it 8.7
i give the graphics a 7, i didnt really care about them, its what i expected so thats the only reasoning for my rating there.
sound:yeh, the sound drove me crazy, you can mess about with the sound when you start the game, but ultimately, its the same tune.
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER
OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
at this point, youre probably thinking, way too many overs, thats annoying.thats about a 9th of the annpyance i felt.so if 9 people view this, i will have made you share the pain!"
ahem, anyway. the guns and ghosts etc make no sounds, so,its really just the music. i give sound a 3.
addictiveness:4. if im honest i probably wont play this again, what with having only 2 button functions and getting game over because a ghost threw a piece of chicken at me, im not overly fond, its fun the 1st time round though.
story:as far as i can tell, there isnt much of one.when i started the game i slid down the firepole and the builidng was overrun with ghosts.but for some reason they only appeared if you go through the rooms in the right order, theyre super curteous like that.i give it a 1
depth:i give it a 1.i havent finished it but im fairely certain its going to continue the exact same way as it did from the start, so repetitive.
difficulty:il give it a 5.despite its simplicity and handy glitches it is quite difficult when 3 ghosts appear at once and charge you.
in general, it was a decent game, if i bought it years ago, i probably would have liked it.now though, not so much.
